The concept of genuine consequences for your actions. Whilst I experienced this a little bit with Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy 7 this was the first game I played where I felt my actions had genuine consequences. I never did Wrex's side-quest prior to Virmire so when he died I felt a little empty after almost in shock as this bad ass shotgun dinosaur was ripped out of my party who had been a mainstay prior but then the hammer hit when my Dad told me how this never happened to him and his Wrex is still alive. At that point I felt responsible for Wrex's death which is something I never experienced with prior games. Great memorable moment.
I will never forget the „Leaving Earth" scene, the end of ME3's intro. No game since has made me feel so utterly hopeless, angry and dedicated at the same time, making the defeat of the Reapers truly personal.
Just finished the trilogy recently. So many quotable moments! "Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong." "It's So Much Easier To See The World In Black And White. Gray? I Don't Know What To Do With Gray... And who could forget: "THAT MEANS SIR ISAAC NEWTON THE DEADLIEST SOB IN SPACE!"
To me, the Rachni voice in ME1 and the Genophage cure choice in ME3 are the most important as they give you the chance to be “evil”. Yeah eliminating the Rachni and controlling the Krogan are the best chances at galactic peace. But once you decide to end an entire species in the name of bringing galactic order, are you any better than the reapers?
I really enjoyed this video, as a loyal fan of this franchise I could feel the love that you have for it. This series changed my life and I can't wait to see what awaits us in ME5.
And what makes the Reapers even worse is that they never truly die. Just go dormant for a time and still continue to spread their slow, creeping, insidious indoctrination. They're true cosmic horrors in that there is no winning. Only constantly pushing back for a bit of extra time before the end and they repeat the cycle once again.
OG ME1 is the only game I've gotten 1000 gamer score in. In my first playthrough I was a soldier and not very good and I lost Wrex. :( I love Wrex, he's my Brogan. Currently replaying it in series X, then I'll play on PC with mods (I'm achievement hunting on Xbox lol)
ME1 storywise, ME2 insanity difficulty is most challenging and ME3 have best combat. if I would have to put in order.. man I can't do it :D.. but I'm very happy that I played the series from the first entry. Man my jaw dropped when Sovereing was revelead. didn't see that coming. And then Saren is so cool character.. I guess ME1 got the first place, then ME3 and then ME2 yes, but at the same time I kinda want to put ME2 also higher because the insanity difficulty is better than in ME1 or ME3. I think I have hours the most in ME3 but from time to time I just want to start the whole franchise from the first game and get that nostalgic feeling when I first time played it. .. Andromeda.. never heard of.. was it Mass Effect game?
Truly. My favorite trilogy of all time. I look forward to another game, but I imagine it’s hard to capture the cinema and magic the first 3 had… …Andromeda was aight. Without Mass Effect’s reputation it would have been received significantly better.

My favorite moments in the series is the Sovereign reveal and talking to the VI on Ilos

1. ME1
2. ME3
3. ME2
You can't change my mind, but its a shame they never made another. 😂
I almost agree with you. My preference is ME1>MEA>ME3>ME2.

I love the trilogy but dislike its music. It could have been much better.
