I was born in Laguna and spent my early childhood there. My father is a native here in Batangas, so I can say I have a barako blood in me. It was during my 5th grade when we moved here and one of the things that my new friends introduced me was lomi. It was not in Lipa though, but one of the lomi house herr in the small town of Mataasnakahoy. But boy it blew me away. It became one of my favorites. Even hit a stage in my life where I'm trying every lomi houses in Lipa way before food vlogs or mukbang was a thing. So thankful for this man who started something that has become part of my life, and thank you FEATR for showcasing amazing people like him.

The way we speak is unique and sometimes people from other places would think we're always angry because of the way we talk haha but it's actually part of the way we speak. Great video!
LOMI of LIPA the best in the world.
The best!
Started eating at Lipa City Panciteria during the early 80's. May mga nagsulputan pa ibang popular lomi houses pero nawala na sila at lalong nag thrive ang lomian nina Kiming. Ngayon everytime I go home to Lipa, I usually drop by Lomi King for my comfort food kasama na wife and kids ko na nagustuhan din nila. Nothing changed, yun pa din lasa ng Lomi nila, masarap. More success to the humble owners and admiring the legacy left by their Dad and family.
Absolute favorite! My parents are from Batangas and whenever we visit their ancestral land, we always stop by hole-in-the-wall lomians. I grew up savoring this dish. I am now based in Singapore and I discovered a similar dish with a similar sounding name as well called Lor Mee. Both have egg noodles and thick gravy. Where lomi is heavy on the pork, lor mee leans on fish. I highly recommend you guys try it yourself when you visit Singapore.
One Batangueño way of eating lomi after doing the calamansi, toyo and sili ritual is to use a plate. Since the lomi is super hot when served, (and it tastes best when hot!!), you gotta use a plate and get a few spoonful of lomi first. You can blow it to your desired temp for consumption and eat it from the plate. With this, you always have a hot refill of lomi everytime rather than letting it cool down all at once. Also, in doing this, you are preventing the lomi from being 'malabnaw' since Batangas Lomi is known for being super thick ;) P.s. ask for fried garlic bits and onions too! :) Thank you again for featuring Lomi Batangas! 2 of my favorite lomi houses are Lomi King in Lipa City and Lomian sa Baryo in Pangao, Ibaan. :) love both their original recipe kikiams :)
that's the original Chinese Kikiam, meatballs ...I love it..... that's similar to those we ate often in Ongpin, Binondo ....super flavorful and lots of rich ingredients in lomi like in famous Chinese restos in Chinatown.....nobody can beat this Chinese style lomi.....it takes a lot of hard work , techniques to do the fresh noodles originated by the Chinese cooks 💗💗💗💗
Dbest lomi king. Salute!
Excellent! Thanks Featr! This is a childhood ‘comfort’ food and the place where we frequently go to growing up in Batangas. I remember ordering a bowl of special lomi for just 30 pesos when I was in grade school or high school. Lomi at the Panciteria has many variations but I normally get the special one. I will request the ‘luto sa sili’ where they will saute 2 pieces of siling labuyo with the onion and garlic. This is a very humble place. Lomi with diced onion, calamansi, soy sauce and sili with a side of chicharon and monay on a rainy day - brings me back to the simple joys of living in the province. Excellent feature!
The first time I tried Lomi King was back 😅in the 90s. My friend's dad was an officer at Fernando air base and she brough us there to watch the men in uniform. I loved the lomi instantly and even now my son would take home this as pasalubong for me.

I knew this place from my late father. I always visit here kapag umuuwi ako sa pinas, brings back memory of my father noong dinadala nya ako dito kapag stress ako sa studies. Still the best Lomi sa lahat ng nakainan ko in Batangas.

I remember when we were kids, we have a cousin who doesnt eat the kikiams so one of us would lowkey half the lomi with her and get all the kikiam 😆 Haaay, such comforting memories with an equally comforting food 😌 Thanks Featr. for making this vid!

There is this some kind of a ritual when eating lomi starting when you order it in the restaurant. They will ask you to be seated, they will hand you condiments and sawsawan ranging from diced onions, toasted garlic, calamansi and sili while the soy sauce bottle are neatly arranged together with the other condiment bottles.
