- Peebs eats Chef Boyardee every day for one whole week! I also decided to rank all the items, so this doubles as a Chef Boyardee ranking fast food taste test review.
It's time for another Peebs food 1 week video! We've done a Chef Boyardee video in the past on the Chef Boyardee pizza kit, and we've watched a couple chef boyardee commercials, but now we're finally eating different chef boyardee canned pastas plus chef boyardee recepie revews! We've got chef boyardee ravioli, chef boyardee beefaroni, the chef boyardee mac and cheese, chef boyardee STUFFED beef ravioli, which is apparently the worst chef boyardee item according to the chef boyardee website. Then we've got the pasta sauce with beef where we have to cook our own spaghetti noodles, and two official chef boyardee recepies from their website. The ultimate canned food chef boyardee food review challenge showdown. A food battle for the ages. I'm just typing words at this point. Hello.

Obligatory warning because we lost a cat to a can: cans have sharp edges, a cut to a tongue can be an infection your four pawed buddy may not survive (Not to mention how painful it can be.) This is why if you feed wet, you should rinse the can before binning it. RIP Cat that died two years before I was born, sorry you had to be a dumpster diver, now I wash cans like it's the great depression.

One time, my brother opened a can of ravioli, and it only had one piece of ravioli and nothing but sauce! He was already having a bad day that day. It just added insult to injury.

Mr Peebs, consider microwaving your food on the edge of the rotating plate instead of in the centre of the microwave. This will often stop it from being cold in the middle. Try it out!
@@MageJiroif your microwave spins, you want to put it on the edge, cause it'll heat it all the way around as it spins. If you don't have a spinning plate in your microwave then the middle is better.

Here's a speed strat for the microwave: instead of pushing 1-0-0 for a minute, just push 6-0. It can save you like, a few frames at least.

As a guy who manages a Publix Deli with a big imported cheese case, the shredded parm can be expensive when you get the good stuff but it’s only good for certain applications (just like shaved parm). It’s a dry cheese and doesn’t melt well in general, especially in thicker shreds like that. If you’re not going to grate your own block always go with grated. You can get cups of grated cheese that don’t have the fillers and anti-caking agents like the green bottle stuff and have way more flavor!
Very thankful this isn't an april fools joke, and is in fact peebs eating chef boyardee for a week. This is why peebs is my favorite youtuber.

"Al dente" pasta just means "undercooked" as far as I'm concerned. I will never understand how half-cooked pasta is considered the preferred texture throughout the world.

@@sleepysoso I'd take overcooked over undercooked any day of the week. During my trip to Italy my claim of half-cooked pasta was more truth than hyperbole. I went to around a dozen restaurants during the trip and of them around 90% so severely undercooked their pasta that the middle bordered on solid, and was at best very tough to bite through. Thus my confusion as to how this is perceived as the correct texture and "undercooked".

reminds me of the time i lived in a place where there was no microwave, so i could only really make chef boyardee on the hot plate. i don't miss those days whatsoever.

I love Peebs but he's got a long way to go before he's Brutalmoose. Ian has turned the act of editing his food videos into a bloody art. Peebs might be funny but not only does he not edit his own videos anymore, they aren't nearly as insanely overproduced. Sure, it lets him get more videos out but you're not in for even a quarter of the insanity when one pops.

Fun fact: Chef Boyardee was originally made by the military for food rations and MRE’s, they made so much of it that they just said, well just sell the rest to the public then bam Chef Boyardee was formed. You can for sure survive a week of it cause it’s just military rations. And they still use it in modern MRE’s as well

My husband is the same way and it KILLS me, creates a ton of unnecessary food waste. It doesn’t even matter if it says “best by” instead of “expiry date” he will NOT eat it. It’s BEST by that date, not suddenly poisonous the day it makes it to that date! 😂

I grew up eating chef boyardee and I love it. I can’t say no to a chef boyardee can. Brings me memories when I was younger. I love eating it with white rice. Or just pop it open and slurp it.

I love the ravioli. I find the mini ravioli one to be the best though, always feels like there’s more of them too in each can.

You want the big raviolis, those taste entirely different and are much better.
personally i enjoy the CANNED Chef Boyardee Ravoli, a little sprinkle of some Parm and then devour. yes there is definitely better, but when money is tight, it can hit better than some options at the same price.
Pro tip for if you're really struggling: Chef Boyardee is like 400 calories for $1.25. A bag of dried lentils or split peas is like 1300 calories for $2. Throw in a $5 jar of curry sauce and a 1 pound bag of rice for $1 and you're getting way more bang for your buck with more calories, flavor, nutrients, and protein for about the cost of 6 cans of Chef Boyardee. Convenience food gets you by seeming cheap but actually being expensive for a single serving. If you plan ahead and make meals then you'll really be saving money.

I didn't like watching your food videos because they were gross food, or because you were eating whacky things. I liked seeing what *interesting* flavors you could find of popular foods, and knowing you're a picky eater, I liked to watch your reactions when you would, as the kids say, yuck my yum. You've hated on some of my favorite snacks, but that's the fun!

Those cans of cheese ravioli got me through marching band season in high school! There wouldn’t be enough time to go home for dinner, so I would keep a can in my locker and eat it cold before practice. Looking back, I’m horrified, but my teenage self was pleased with it.
I’m not in any rush to try that again, but I DID check my local grocery stores and they all have the cheese ravioli in stock!

So as a truck driver, I've loved months at a time on surfboards. If it has a red sauce and isn't the giant version, it needs salt and hot sauce. The chicken Alfredo just needs salt but the spaghetti and meatballs needs Sal and a bit of ranch dressing. All are better straight out of the can not heated up. Js

Both. I use a fork while eating Beef Ravioli and a spoon while eating the sauce.
If anyone wants to try the ravioli pita, separate the sauce, just stuff the pita with ravioli and cheese and use the sauce for dipping.
After losing my appendix and getting 2 day fevers from eating "old" food, I definitely learned my lesson!
If it's dairy and it's expired, TOSS IT! You can't see the bacteria or mold on it yet but it IS there!

The throwback chef boyardee that were for sale a few years back in the yellow labels were so much better than the current versions. But I guess they make more money with the cheaper ingredients.

So to answer the question of my team, fork, or spoon, I use a spoon. The history behind it was when I got my tooth extraction, I was stuck on soft foods for a week because my jaw was so swollen it had increased heavily in size. I ate room temperature ravioli for a while with a spoon. It wasn't that great, but I appreciated having food
Edit: To respond to day seven, parenting is something to definitely get used to. My son is now sleeping through the night and I occasionally check on him to make sure he is sleeping okay. He's four months old as well, so we are past the most dangerous time to have risk of SIDS, especially with him being a preemie, so I am glad for that.
I have a fun story about Chef Boyardee ravioli. One time, a kid in my math class brought it in... as a drink. he actually drank an entire cold can of ravioli after a math test.
I mean - the teacher said he couldn't eat it, she never said he couldn't drink it.
This made me want ravioli for dinner 🤣
