      Imagine spending more than a current rc390 gp edition and waiting 4hrs (that's the boost charger normal charger takes 8hrs lol) just to run your bike which has no gears and technically is a scooter with bike panels and frame. Surely if you like it you should buy it cuz one should buy any bike cuz he wants it not cuz one can afford it, if you love it so much test drive it and surely buy it but this bike won't sell cuz you are spending more than even some 300-400cc more sporty and truly sporty machines.

      I don’t think so people get this, but the pricing on this bike is extremely smart. It keeps a lot of stupid people from buying it and since it so expensive they not only sell more and make more profits, but also create a brand image. KTM has lost its brand image and they don’t want that to happen to theirs by offering it to the cheap market. Also it’s price lies between the extreme high end good performs bikes and lower end 500cc bikes which makes sense as it almost a goldilocks zone.

    Eff me, I would love it if this bike were available in the States at anywhere near that price. I know that's expensive for India but that's dirt cheap for a bike here and compared to something like a Sondors Metacycle this seems like a way better value and it's also much better looking. Kudos to India for creating such a great-looking bike.

  • @Parantakdev

    The price is truly good. Why simply because of mainly three reasons.
    1) from 2019 5 years have been gone and take 6% as nominal inflation as per year.
    2) how often you saw production version surpasses the prototype that promised.
    3) after all of that the price of batteries, motors and wire are gone up by few percentages.
    Truly the product is very well made. By only giving nominal software update all the problems can be fixed. 💖💖🙏🙏🇮🇳🇮🇳

    • @RishaadMody1
      @RishaadMody1 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      I'd say, yes, the weight is too much for a bike of this performance level. But the weight itself is not a problem - most litre-class superbikes are at the 200kg ballpark and some sport tourers are even heavier. Unfortunately, the weight is the cost of having so much battery - no way around it with current technology

    My 2 cents: I don't have opinions on someone who "wants" to pay a large sum of money for an expensive bike. Its their choice I respect that. But the argument of "Don't look at the cost price as high because in the long run you will save more money with this electric bike than a petrol bike" is the most naive and under-thought statement I ever heard. 4 Lacs now is worth a lot more than 4 lacs 5-10 years later. On the same argument that ultraviolet is making, I say spend 2 lacs for a 250-300cc IC engine bike and invest the rest 2 lacs in market. See what happens after the "long term". Even established multinational companies like triumph and KTM start their innings at low prices to capture the market before raising prices based on demand. Just saying.

A lot of comments here mentioning we need to support kind of gives an impression of failure product in terms of sales. Years of hardwork but it can succeed only if sales numbers are good. A maxi scooter with adequate space seating comfort and range 250+kmpc can also be thought of.

    Ultraviolette has a lot of work ahead to do. There is a great deal of skepticism when it comes to EV vehicles even now, and the price is a always a deterrent for many, and I was one of them too. Although I have Husq Svart on me, I do see a lot of Revolt vehicles around me too. I heard about Ultraviolette first time from my friend, and this is certainly a pretty cool looking and very interesting bike. If the manufacturers can keep improving and find a niche within mass production while finding a reasonable price bracket, they could certainty gain the traction needed. It's a bold step to take, but like someone said in the comments, innovation like this needs to be supported rather than doubted. We are in for big things ahead that's for sure.

    I've been saying this for years that lithium ion batteries don't make the cut. They are hazardous, explosive and most importantly are heavy af. Using them for two wheelers makes no sense. The only promising battery tech for the future is graphene based batteries but they will take time.
    Unpopular opinion: EVs are better suited for cars and rickshaws not bikes or scooters Yeah the sudden acceleration is nice and I've experienced that but the mechanical feel of a bike cannot be replaced.
    Current Ev tech is more like kicking the can down road rather than the claimed global revolution. It's just not enough.
