Sire absolutely kills in the the mid-range and entry level market, but today I check out their new high-end flagship model! Guitar info/links: SIRE S10 SSS - sweetwater.sjv.io/OerMgN SIRE S10 HSS - sweetwater.sjv.io/RG5MBg Enjoy :)
Went to the guitar shop just for taking an eye and went out from there with a Tele T7 from Sire. The neck is so comfortable, high-end finishes, pickups really good. The sound is amazing. Didn't know so much of Sire until I held one of these guitar.
I have about 40 guitars and of course a SIRE S 7 roasted neck etc. I ‘ ve changed the pickups with David’s Gilmore g 20 set…and it’s absolutely fabulous with a lot of variety of sounds. I love it thanks a lot Darrell!!!!!
Actually got lucky enough to grab an S5… plays like an old friend. I’m not sure I’d need to upgrade to locking tuners, the stock tuners are rock solid so far. Sire keeps knocking it out of the park, and in an affordable way!
What a gorgeous super-Strat! It's a little too hot-roddy (style-wise) for my 64 year old taste, but it's awesome all the same. I've already got a T7 (traditional style) and the new 2-P90 thinline T7TM, and they are SPECTACULAR in fit, finish, looks, and sound. I couldn't ask for more from either guitar at ANY price. I honestly can't think of anything that needs improving on either one.
Very pretty Sire S10 with the nice green stained burl top and the JB humbucker and Vintage Flat Strat singles sound great in your hands (as usual). The S10 is $2060CAD in Canada (since our dollar sucks). Not a lot of options with SS frets and SD pups though even at that price.
dude... Seymour Duncan single coils... on a 1000$ guitar .... ridiculous.... not worth the price. You are better off getting the 450$ model and upgrade the pickups and get something truly amazing. Other than the electronics, the 450 SIRE S7 are really really amazing - or should I say I am extremely happy with mine. I had to do some minor adjustments like pickups, knob placement .... so what I am saying is by getting the 450$ S7 I am able to add and improve where it suits my needs instead of overpriced ridiculous garbage pickups etc... Oh, did I mention, you get a roasted maple neck on the S7 :-) - this doesn't even come with roasted maple neck.... man oh man....
I think I might actually buy that guitar because he makes it sound so enticing and it looks so phenomenal really good and I like Seymour Duncan pickup so I might give it a shot
I really loved the brown super strat with s/s/h WOW 😊 but also not a fan of the glossy fret board, but I wouldn't say no to one 😂 Great video as always 🎉
So how does it better the sound from a Strat OR a John Mayer PRS? I think sire is riding a bronze bullet thinking they are on a silver one. Never mind the colour and cosmetics. It’s the sound. And a glossy fret board finish? My Sire S7 sec gen is not too bad but for another €250 I could have gotten the PRS John Mayer. And this guitar is 1299€. Not a hope.
I have the S7 HSS. True question is, is it ”double” the price better? Well i have Sire hardware, Sire pickups and electronics and not stainless frets. Do have locking tuners and a bridge/trem that holds tuning excellent! Darrel, sell me in to a S10. Can’t have to many guitars right?! :)
I have the high end model and you get Locked tuners and better top nut and all those things .. You dont need that because the old set up is working fine too .. I hope this answer your question !
Not sure if this is a good move on Sire’s part. Guitar looks awesome, no doubt. But most purchasers would weigh up a number of factors before pressing the button and resale is one of them. And it’s replicating an iconic shape from an existing company, so it’ll be up against Fenders on the second hand market. If this guitar were built in the US or Japan, how much would it cost to manufacture and assemble? Probably twice as much, but very few would pay that for a brand in it’s infancy. I feel they’re trying to run before they can walk and I already own and love my £470 H7! I want Sire to succeed, but they should’ve done more establishing of the brand first, kept the guitars sub-1000, proved that they can maintain quality of the 7s, 5s, 3s and then push on with say a low price custom shop or lower price nitro finish.
Are Schecter and Sire guitars made in the same factory from the same woods? It seems like they both make excellent guitars but they both run on the heavy side.
$1300, for a Sire?!!!? That’s a hard NO for me! Even though it is a nice looking guitar and decent specs, Sire hasn’t, IMO earned the right to charge that much for a guitar. As someone else mentioned, I’d go with an Ibanez Premium. Hell, Tim Henson and Scott LePage’s signatures are only $200 more and even come with Fishman pickups, which sound way better than the muddy bridge pickup in the Sire! Dig the channel! Much RESPECT! 🤘✌️
Its a nice looking guitar. But to me, higher end guitars will not have a square heel with a plate. The neck heel will also be shaped up to the neck. Also, no gloss on the neck to stick to. It's very nice mid-grade to me. But that's just me. I do love the wood green! I had an ESP Mirage about 20 years ago, this color and I loved it.
Beautiful guitar! So Sir gave it a nice satin neck, but is the fret board is not sanded? Judging from the reflections in this video it is not. Why? People often say that this does not matter because a good player should hardly touch the fret board. IMO this is incorrect. For bending you have to firmly grab the string and your finger will move against the fret board. That is where a sticky fret board can become a nuisance.
Daryl is really pushing for those s i r e guitars I guess they're giving him all the props for doing that he makes some sound so great I might even pick one up myself My Cousin Eddie always swore by making his own guitars or having the guitar companies design his I miss him God bless his soul
I can understand Sire dipping their toes into this end of the pond. To gauge the maximum price people will pay for one. Epiphone has settled into their new maximum price range quite nicely. ESP/LTD just raised all the 1000 series models $100 or more. Unfortunately, I just don't feel Sire has the same level of demand for their guitars. PRS SE, Sterling by MusicMan, and Yamaha, are some other heavy hitters that easily outpace Sire. It's tough sledding out there right now. All those brands I mentioned, have found their way into my collection already. Sure I've looked at a few Sire guitars over the years. But with all those big name brands constantly flooding the market with new models. Sire just doesn't have a great chance, in my eyes. I don't think these will fly. Sire has a corner of the market covered. With the likes of Harley Benton and other affordable brands. Inching up in price is expected. But trying to roll with the big boys, isn't likely to pay off. We'll see, who knows? Peace!
Why not just pkug straight in ? Your clips only leave me wondering what the guitars will sound like thru my line since they go thru so much in your pkaying
I have Gibsons and fenders and I swear by them I do have a couple of Ibanez is and also a couple of schecter's this might be good guitars but I stand by reputation all the time
I'm not sure Sire has built up the name for guitars in this price range quite yet, but hey, neither has Yamaha, IMO, and they do it too (even more with their MIJ). So, what the heck!
Looks nice. Heel joint does need to be rounded at $1200. Also your High Gain tone was really bad this time around. Ugh- or maybe that humbucker is just no bueno.
Seymour Duncan Single Coil pickups ? OHHH NOOOO.... that's a deal breaker because I am truly NOT impressed with the SD single coils, never really liked them. If SIRE wants to get me interested in a 1000$ guitar, then it has to have something of way superior quality in sound than SD single coils - I cannot hide my disappointment. Of the many many outrageously awsome Single Pickups available these days I don't , just don't understand ...
It's a shame that guitars like this never really get the attention that they should just because of the name on the headstock 🤷♂️ companies like Fender should be giving you far more for the prices there charging for there guitars when companies like this are giving you guitars like this for far cheaper
I agree. I own a fender telecaster and a Gibson, Les Paul and I find myself picking up the sire L7 and S3 more then any of those top name brand guitars. I know that the sire won’t resale like them, but as far as playability, sire all the way.
Are they that good? I watch these video's and i can see that they look like good guitars and have all the high end appointments, and also get great reviews but I've never actually played one, but in saying that I've never played a decent strat, I've played a squire statocaster, I've only been playing 2 years and I consider myself very lucky as my only guitar is a Music Man Sabre BFR HH. A lovely guitar 👌 so I've been spoilt quality wise for my first guitar i want an SSS strat style for my next guitar and I keep wondering about buying something like this as in all honesty I'm just a novice bedroom guitar player 🤷♂️ but then i think would i be happy with it or would I constantly be wishing that I'd saved abit longer and bought from one of the bigger more established brands, especially when like you say you have to consider the re-sale value, would i not just be better saving and getting something that I want to keep forever like my Sabre.
Yeah, I'm meeting a guy tomorrow who wants to trade his Fender Player for my PRS SE. Another guy wanted to trade me his Godin. I'm interested in trying a Godin, but the Fender name just holds so much value and appeal when it's time to trade or sell again.

A direct comparison to the S7 would be great 🙂
Went to the guitar shop just for taking an eye and went out from there with a Tele T7 from Sire. The neck is so comfortable, high-end finishes, pickups really good. The sound is amazing. Didn't know so much of Sire until I held one of these guitar.

Love that finish. Really wish more manufacturers would put out cool green finishes.
Majority of my guitars are green lol. Love green finishes.
Sweet guitar Darrell, let's see the comeback of the 1-minute solo. Thanks for the review.
Great video, so glad to see u back on here.
Sooo glad you're back. Love you man!
DAMN! So good in both design and tune! love this
What a beauty!
Honestly the first guitar in a year that got the old grumbling of G.A.S to get churning. Thanks for the demo!
Great to see you.
Love the specs. What a time to be a guitar player. That 2 1/8" trem is awesome. The subtle compound radius is FAST!
Does that trem have both back and forth movement or just forward?
@@danieljackson7451 Yes it has to be setup with the rear raised off the body.
Forget the "Ping", can you dive it and it stay in tune? That's the only question I have, otherwise I absolutely LOVE it!
Actually got lucky enough to grab an S5… plays like an old friend. I’m not sure I’d need to upgrade to locking tuners, the stock tuners are rock solid so far. Sire keeps knocking it out of the park, and in an affordable way!
love your channel, looking forward to more videos;)
This is my favorite I’ve seen so far.
What a gorgeous super-Strat! It's a little too hot-roddy (style-wise) for my 64 year old taste, but it's awesome all the same. wow darrell 🔥
Mini toggle for the humbucker and it would be great.
Beautiful finish on her.
Really cool finish!
Sounds amazing!

Sigh... Green is my favourite colour - even on a guitar - so, you can imagine how much I want this one. Sadly, it is well out of my price range.
Green is my favorite color too and this one looks good, but out of my range as well.
Its a great looking one and I agree, I felt the same way about that green Kramer with the snake decals I saw today in my guitar center
dude... Seymour Duncan single coils... on a 1000$ guitar .... ridiculous.... not worth the price. You are better off getting the 450$ model and upgrade the pickups and get something truly amazing. Nice guitar nice tones nice review
I think I might actually buy that guitar because he makes it sound so enticing and it looks so phenomenal really good and I like Seymour Duncan pickup so I might give it a shot
Id like to know if an angled neck plate like that, do the screws still go in at a 90 degree angle or are they skewed backward?
Those frets look amazing 😮 I like green too.
I have the Sire L7 , love it plays great , sound good..
Fantastic video thank you
It looks and sounds lovely🥰
I really loved the brown super strat with s/s/h WOW 😊
but also not a fan of the glossy fret board, but I wouldn't say no to one 😂 Great video as always 🎉
As soon as Sire brings us a black T7 with white trim, I'm in.
I guess in Andertons they said the burl top also glows in the dark. If true this is cool!
It is a beautiful guitar
I got this exact color 2 months ago
It's AMAZING
Beautiful. Is that a binding or just the top not painted on the side?
So how does it better the sound from a Strat OR a John Mayer PRS?
I think sire is riding a bronze bullet thinking they are on a silver one.
Never mind the colour and cosmetics. It’s the sound. And a glossy fret board finish?
My Sire S7 sec gen is not too bad but for another €250 I could have gotten the PRS John Mayer. And this guitar is 1299€. Not a hope.
I have the S7 HSS.

Darrel, sell me in to a S10.
Can’t have to many guitars right?! :)
I have the high end model and you get Locked tuners and better top nut and all those things ..
You dont need that because the old set up is working fine too .. I hope this answer your question !
@
S7 Also got locking tuners and a really fine cut bone nut.
So, is it really worth the double?
Not sure if this is a good move on Sire’s part.
Guitar looks awesome, no doubt. But most purchasers would weigh up a number of factors before pressing the button and resale is one of them. And it’s replicating an iconic shape from an existing company, so it’ll be up against Fenders on the second hand market.

I have to try one.
My s3 is all i need!
If it came with a rosewood/ebony fingerboard it would be an instant purchase for me.
nice review
$1300, for a Sire?!!!? That’s a hard NO for me! Even though it is a nice looking guitar and decent specs, Sire hasn’t, IMO earned the right to charge that much for a guitar. Much RESPECT! 🤘✌️
It’s a JB in the bridge. Pretty hard to argue with the construction and features. Brand name doesn’t guarantee quality and is only important to some
The Sire has Seymour Duncan Pickups.
@@rudigerk yes, the Seymour Duncan sh-4 JB. This is very well regarded humbucker and I have the trembucker version in my super strat
After recently seeing Epiphones for hundreds more ,seems like a good contender with the attention to quality Sire is known for .
Beautiful. A lot of bang for the buck.
Agreed. Soloking and Jet are making pretty nice stuff for between $400 and $800- This one looks nice but not at $1200-

That thing is sweet
This thing is sick. Trying to decide between this, the Volo oz rv tnc, and a a shijie tm-5 for my next guitar... anyone have any advice?
Can you make one on H7T pleaaase!!!😫
I think I would go for a Vola.
ok but know idk if i'll buy Prs or Sire THANK YOU !! lol
That finish is just over killed
I wonder if they bought some of the tools and designs from Fernandez after they went out of business ?
I like it this guitar
When they release a guitar with a nitro finish, I’ll get one.
Does trem have forward and pull back movement or just forward?
if i had even a tiny bit of talent, id buy one of those !!!
Where can you buy these in Canada ?
Been a while, Darrell.
Wasn't this "sire" series started like 4 months ago ?!
Heez DB, takenot easy mate
Oh man. I’d love to throw that in the bed of my Chevy S-10
Grwt but a bit pricey jump between 7 and 10 for what it is.
Still one of the most features for theoney out there
Needs a coil split on the 'bucker...
I thought there was a glow in the dark option with the green version.
Where is the 24 frets?
Stainless steel frets...... that colour.... the pick-ups.... SOLD!
I wish the Seymour Duncans had the metal guard much like the bridge pickup.
Green guitars are just better💚🫑🥬🥦🥑💚
Why not just pkug straight in ? Your clips only leave me wondering what the guitars will sound like thru my line since they go thru so much in your pkaying

I have Gibsons and fenders and I swear by them I do have a couple of Ibanez is and also a couple of schecter's this might be good guitars but I stand by reputation all the time
'They really put themselves in the ring!' WHO'S ring? ;o)
It’s nice… but not Kanami’s new signature PRS nice 😁
I'm not sure Sire has built up the name for guitars in this price range quite yet, but hey, neither has Yamaha, IMO, and they do it too (even more with their MIJ). So, what the heck!
Is 8.5 pounds light? 😮
Rather get an Ibanez Premium AZ for about the same price.
💯
Another sire advertising
That looks like an alien guitar. Killer top.
Every company that puts together a high end guitar automatically says, you know we gotta use a burl top for this right?
Looks nice. Heel joint does need to be rounded at $1200. Also your High Gain tone was really bad this time around. Ugh- or maybe that humbucker is just no bueno.
No, an 8 pound to an 8 and a half pound guitar is not “super lightweight”… but a 6 pound guitar is super light weight.
Seymour Duncan Single Coil pickups ? OHHH NOOOO.... that's a deal breaker because I am truly NOT impressed with the SD single coils, never really liked them. Let me guess sire?
They tend to to 8lbs or more. Too heavy for me. They do look great though.

Sire is a very good guitar however if you buy be prepare to lose 50% if you wish to sell. I won 3 and i cannot sell it more than 2 years
Something about these guitars is really unattractive to me, mainly the headstock, but they do sound nice.
1st!!!
Try reselling a sire vs reselling a strat
Yeah, I'm meeting a guy tomorrow who wants to trade his Fender Player for my PRS SE. Another guy wanted to trade me his Godin. I'm interested in trying a Godin, but the Fender name just holds so much value and appeal when it's time to trade or sell again.
Beautiful guitar and great sounding!
I don’t sell my guitars.
Why buy a guitar that you’d want to sell later?
So true nobody has even heard of a sire guitar
GLOSSY FRETBOARD IS A MEGA NO NO TO ME...SIRE SHOULD HAVE AN OPTION FOR THAT
Hey weirdo nobody cares what's a big No-No for you
I agree. But I also feel that way about necks in general
I don't care for those 2x4 heels ! I will take an Ibanez , Schecter or Charvel over that guitar !
Bunch of bs, and no gig bag for over a grand. 😢
Gold hardware makes me want to puke 🤮
Let me guess, you like it and think we should buy one.
You meant to say "you like it and think we should consider this one if we're currently looking to buy a new guitar"
Is he supposed to crap all over the products he reviews just to satisfy you?
Who plays that brand?
