Your physical tbr going down?? A miracle. Couldn't be me.
I'm also rereading Stormlight in preparation for book 5 but I'm also stupid enough to want to try and finish Malazan as well.

LOL that's an ambitious tbr. I've just finished midnight tides and i think i'm going to pick up the bonehunters really soon. It was such a great book, i also want to read them all but i don't think it's going to happen this year 😂😂😭
As for my physical tbr, it was also increasing for the last two-three years and I decided I had enough😅There are books that have been there for over two years and I was afraid of not being interested in them anymore if I kept postponing the reading. So I decided I would be a lot happier going back at having a small physical tbr, so i can buy the books i'm interested about as I read them.

Ohh I wonder what your thoughts on Stormlight Archive will be after re-reading it; I've re-read the first 3 books so far this year and while I really enjoyed it because of my attachment to the series, I feel like my tastes have changed a little and I've become more nitpicky because I was finding a lot of faults with the books which kept pulling me out of the story 😭
I'm currently reading Red Seas Under Red Skies because my university semester just started and I needed something I was guaranteed to have a good time with to pull me through academic stress lol
Count of Monte Cristo and East of Eden have been on my TBR forever!! You're so right, the way some people talk about these books as life changing just makes me need to see what the fuss is about-hopefully you and I end up enjoying them too!!

I'm really curious about Stormlight Archive. Part of me also thinks I'm going to be really picky but I also hope I still love it; I remember having a great time when I read it for the first time.
I'm glad you are enjoying Red Seas Under Red Skies, I LOVED the first one. I liked the second but for some reason not as much. I think I missed some of my boys 😭😭😭
I KNOWW!! but those classics are HUGE LOL I think they aren't really hard to read (i hope so), so maybe we should ignore the length (easier to say it than to actually do it). Thank you so much, Mehta 💛💛

Yay. Midnight Tides is the funniest Malazan book. The Bonehunters will be the beginning of the end but lots of things are still about to happen.

Dom, you are so right! I've just finished Midnight Tides and it was a lot of fun. Still has very hard topics and difficult scenes, but it was a bit more lighthearted if you compare it with the others (for example Deadhouse Gates was a lot more tragic). I LOVEEEED Bugg and Tehol, they are my new favorite duo. They were hilarious and so easy to follow, yet interesting and misterious as characters, SE did a great job!

Tehol and Bugg are the funniest dangerous duo in Malazan. 👏 And there are the brothers on both sides.
Colonialism commentary from both side. That’s why it has always many POVs. You can see what the people think and SE don’t take sides for you. Not many book gives you the opportunity to form opinions like this.
Emily Henry. It’s like a romcom movie. Fun reads.
Oh yes, compered to Malazan Stormlight… it’s still fun. The weak writing hits harder and I personally see in points plot armor and so on, but Stormlight is a fun read like MCU. Also advised to read the Cosmere if you do this. To have the full story. It’s more fun with all the books in order. 19 books and the novellas. 😂
Drop in Dandelion Dynasty, it lives up for Malazan. 4 books, minimal magic, focus on politics and such.
Janny Wurts- Wars of Light and Shadow does too. 11 books with very rich writing. 1 story not many POVs but the 11 books give place for incredible amount of depth.
Tad Williams too, and it’s a trilogy George RR Martin and Robin Hobb took inspiration from his books. It’s obvious from the beginning.
Just to make your thr longer, 😂

I've just finished Midnight Tides and you are SO RIGHT. Tehol and Bugg are my new fav malazan duo, they are hilarious but also interesting and unique. The book gained so much for me thanks to them, I adored reading their POVs. It was also nice to read something a bit more lighthearted 😊
I've actually tried Emily Henry! I love that she always makes her heroes human, the books tend to be pretty balanced💫💫
Thank you so much for the recs!!💛💛 yes, I think i would need more than a year to read all of them 😂but i'm adding them to my tbr. When I finish malazan I would need another big series to read 🤗
