Wow - quite a claim to fame - to live in the town where dear ole Hank breathed his last - is quite something ! Hank Williams was a prodigious talent who battled with the demons of addiction and alcoholism - yet it didn’t stop him performing regularly and writing some of the most enduring and heartfelt country music songs - in recorded history. The guy was a genius, flawed ? Yeah certainly - but he had a magical ear for fantastic melodies and sensibilities - groundbreaking and hugely innovative - a real one off. RIP Hank Williams. Rx.

Hank3 could be Sr's twin. They look so much alike and sound quite alot alike too. I saw him cover some of his grandaddy's songs and he did a mighty fine job!! He'd be a super star, but unfortunately country just ain't country anymore! Sadly, it's more and more like pop music! Hell they even play it on pop stations!! To be honest...it makes my blood boil that you can only here a Hank or George Jones song only once in a blue moon! And that's only on an anniversary of their death or if someone requests it, and that is so sad!! Im 34years old, but was raised listening to good ole music on records! These yougens don't have a clue what country music is!!! Makes my heart so sad!!! R.I.P. Hank! You may be gone, but you'll never be forgotten!!!

I've noticed in old photographs from the era that our grandparents all tended to look like they were in their late 30's-40's when they were in their 20's. We're unusually baby-faced in modern day. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because we spend the majority of our time indoors instead of working in the sun as much and don't encounter the same sorts of stressors they did back then.

For me, the greatest country singer and song writer ever, is Hank Williams. I know, there have been lots of country greats since then, but none greater than Hank. And, for people who have never had to live with chronic pain, it is impossible to understand how you can become addicted to whatever will help relieve the pain...it does serious things to the mind, that CHRONIC pain. And of course, once addicted, you just need more and more for it to help the pain. It's a catch 22 situation...damned if you do, and damned if you don't. And his demanding life style helped promote the need for more pain killers. Pert' near impossible to quit. I will always LOVE Hank Williams.

Like so many musicians and other artists, the drink and drugs that provide the inspiration is taking their life in return. A sad but common story. Hank was a real original and his work will hold up forever in the world of music.

It is a terrible thing to have to go through life suffering pain. Drugs that relieve pain often cause problems, but as we progress with scientific technology, we're learning how to surgically deal with the source of the pain with nerve blocks and other techniques now that can give the patient a lot of relief. Hopefully, as time goes on, we'll learn even more so that people do NOT have to deal with chronic pain. Pain is debilitating, and makes a person suffer mentally and physically, so it is paramount that we learn how to relieve pain, yet prevent the problems cause with some of the drugs and methods in use now.

I completely disagree. And it is my opinion that Christian Bale is horrible actor. His grandson Hank III would be the best to play the role of Hank Williams sir.
