To get the belts to link up between blueprint stamps, you just need to add an extra piece of belt to each line that sticks out beyond the smelters. You can either put the extra belt pieces before or after the smelters, they just can't be directly in line with the building otherwise you will get the collision issue that you experienced. Great video and happy factory building!
Hey Z, if you want to construct things faster (as mentioned at 22:27) consider making some BABs (Battlefield Analysis Bases) they're a new item that come equipped with 12 building drones that will be automatically used if the construction is in their radius/the BAB is powered. They're pretty easy to make just takes a bit of handcrafting, very worth it! Loving the playthrough so far :D.
fast copies can be made using CTRL-C/V copy paste, blueprints can be placed on top of existing setups, its all about build once blueprint and paste repeatedly to remove the tedium. Belts will connect in between blueprints, need a single extension past machines, overlapping is fine it'll only add the differences provided there's space. Copying sorters for the filters or better yet copy the whole machine and lay on top of existing machine for easy repeatability, and don't forget the drag paste to get perfect setups.
In case if you don't know, you can put the boxes on splitters. It will automatically collect backed up items into the boxes for zero power cost. Later on you can unlock logistic drones that look like fidget spinners which will allow you to put a "Hat" on said boxes and allowing them to act like a mini-PLS/ILS
you should build east->west instead of north->south. The grid gets wider at the equator. So building north->south can cause your buildings and belts to get misaligned
The ground level Dark Fog drops soil piles and it is possible to farm the Dark Fog to get a lot of soil piles. Filling an ocean planet enitrely with soil is much easier now
Been watching you since 11k subscribers since your not so favorite topic Astroneer. Congratulations so much on over half a million!!! Thanks for these dyson sphere program videos!
Go to the Mecha Panel (where you can add fuel to charge your core), at the bottom of that window you will find a row called 'Fleet.' That is where you can put your prototypes.
I know you're trying to figure this all out, but fellow TH-camr Nilaus has amazing set up guides and blueprints for starter bases and mall setups. Your stuff will be wildly inefficient and will cause heartache later down the line for you.
Combustible units in the Tech tree work a lot better in the mech suit then energized carbon does it also Burns in the thermal power plant better and it only costs three coal per unit. Plus, if you automate that, you can then automate missiles and missile turrets
@@Luca-0408 depends on what you mean for beginning of red research / before you have a dedicated oil setup and all that it would be the combustible units the next one you'll have to do a little work put then it goes on to hydrogen fuel rods then deuterium fuel rods then antimatter

For foundations, there is a way to increase the size of the foundation so it's up to 9x9 instead of 3x3, use the + / - sign to make it bigger/smaller

This is the bar that all factory games should be based off.

Belts can connect but they need to overlap by one single tile. Fairly sure they need to be the same tier as well.
You could make the smelting array tighter if you'd use one input belt and don't ONLY use the center smelter port for inputs. Same for the output.

You can place wind turbines over water.
check out the combustible unit for a fuel source, its better fuel then the energetic graphite
Reminder that the game uses ratios, and for oil to hydrogen it's a 10-1.
love this game
You can make your foundations black and red too
how do we do that?
@@weezap there is a color picker when you select the foundation decoration

You can mass drag the buildings like copy paste
When will he realise that half the graphite rods are going into storage rather than the generators....
Im not say it but i am it
