Death By Cedar Roof Shakes (kinda 😂) Log Woodshed Build Part 8

- In this video, I pick up where I left off last week on my log woodshed build at my cabin in the woods! This is part 8 in a series of videos in which I will share the entire process of the build.
In this episode of the series, I finish splitting the cedar roof shakes, as well as the bracing for the posts, and a few other small victories.
Thanks for watching!

Amazing job! That shed will never collapse! You have a lot of patience and are building with integrity. Looking forward to your next video.
I guess people who do this type of work understand more...I wasn't trying to discourage but who am I 😐
Great video series, Diego. I love to watch this type of series. There are many ways to do things, you are showing a successful way to build a woodshed, great job! I like that you show the struggles and the problem solving. It's impressive to watch your building process and interesting to learn about some of the reasons why. I don't mind time lapse building/working sections. It's nice to watch builders/makers do their thing. For me the building/making is the best part. Thanks for sharing your life with us!! As a teenager, I worked in a mill (with several large machines) where we made shakes. I can't imagine making them manually! Your process is impressive. Look forward to the next video.
Awesome job Diego. Can't wait to see the finished woodshed.
Thanks for making these great videos man, and send my thanks to Al for being a great dude that I've learnt some useful skills from. Have you heard of yakisugi? It's a Japanese technique of burning the outside of shingles like that, the carbon layer makes them weather and rot resistant.
Looks amazing, Diego. So much hard work. Amazing build. It's all coming together. Love the details. Keep smiling; you're almost there. And it looks amazing. Have the greatest day ever, love and peace.
Just got to admire your energy and enthusiasm. I've a friend here on Crete who restored/rebuilt ELEVEN stone house/ workshops almost singlehandedly. Through a wet winter and a 45C summer over four years. Now they serve as a music studio, a community building for the village, holiday accommodation and a beautiful home for him and his family. All on a very limited budget. Your dedication and his are so alike. 😎🇬🇷
I WOULD LIKE TO SAY HOW MUCH I ENJOY WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS.
I LIVE IN TORQUAY ENGLAND NEAR THE SEA WHICH IS A BIG TOURIST AREA WITH LOTS OF BEACHES AND GREEN FIELDS, BUT NO LARGE WOODLANDS AND FORESTS.. SO WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
SO THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR ADVENTURES.
👍
Please stop yelling.
@@alpinealpine2793😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🎉😊
Honestly looking at that structure just made me think, imagine the epic treehouse dad Diego is gonna build his kids out there
😂😂😂❤
Move sweet lady in and itll happen lol is it Jessica?
No, her name is Julia😊😊❤@j.a.r.family2576
Have you considered making two videos possibly? The algorithm really loves those start to finish building videos so it’ll probably skew higher viewers than the detailed 8 part series, maybe do a start to finish and one final update when it’s shingled and loaded up with the detail the rest of the series had. Just a suggestion, double revenue is always nice.
I’ve really enjoyed watching this series and I think at this point I think this woodshed could survive anything short of a direct hit from tornado. And congrats to Al on likely getting enough small wood for his cook stove to last through the fall.
Epic as ever! Really enjoying watching this series
Another benefit from this project is that you will have kindling for the rest of your LIFE!!!!!!😂😂😂
NO matter what,,, you can still walk up to any one of those 6 posts, and kick it in the outward direction. Granted, Yes you have the inward taken care of really well with your bracing, but the outward thrust is still free to move with the weight of a stack of wood pushing out at the bottom. Because they are only floating on the pads. They should have been pinned into the ground. This is just an observation, but i am not the only one that has noticed this foe-paw.
You should totally consider picking up logs, cleaning them up and then selling them for folks building their own stuff.
Go get that firewood! Nice work Diego!
Good Job, this holdes forever.
Greetings.
Looking forward to next week video of the total Build
Consider loading up the truck with kindling for Al.
what a cool structure that is!
I feel like I just discovered a hidden gem on TH-cam!
Hello. To make your own dowels there are dowel maker jig kits. To use branches from trees instead of store bought ones, you save money. And most likely, with the right selection of wood, they are way more durable. Great work.
Your work ethic would make David Goggins grin.
hi Diego like the video how are you going to do the floor?
Doing a great job
Great Job And Nice Video!
nice vid 🎉
greets from germany
Great job. That roof is gonna last a really long time
Are you really always calm, cool and collected?
hello Diego your new friend here I’m from Philippines working here in SAUDI ARABIA ❤❤❤
Lov ur vids! U might want to consider wearing eye protection when splitting. Especially while striking metal wedges. Ask me how I know.
Great video
Yeah man, dont even think about what people want to see, do your own thing what you want to do or you will get sick of it in the end. If its repetitive roofing, so be it Id watch it as its relaxing for whatever reason.
Never mind Super Mario , I watch Super Diego
Diego, love your videos and the work, but why so muck work for a Wood shed??👏👏👏☘️🇮🇪🔨🔨🔨🔨
Well you be giving us a total Costing at end this amazing Build
you have enough kindling i'd say!
When you git-R-done maybe you can make yourself a S.O.S w/sausage & eggs breakfast for dinner.
the thicker they are the stronger they are
Heads-up: Do to copyrights, TH-cam can suspend your account & demonetize it for playing music from the radio.
Not unless you pay for the copyrights to play a particular music.
Just being cautious.
I love your channel; therefore, I don’t want you to get in trouble.
GREAT TIP!!!!🎉❤😊
Predrill your shake nail holes.
Hello also to Mr al
Hi Diego, how far is it into town from your cabin?
hello to your lovely Julie ❤
that is way over built but i love it
Brah someone will be talking about this Woodshed 100 years from now! They’re gonna say yeah some named Al built it 😂
A bra is something women wear around their chests and it's not spelled with an 'h' at the end🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😊

Good❤❤🙏🙏
Omgosh!!!!!!! I love watching your videos but I can't watch anymore on this woodshed it's just a woodshed it should be done you could of built a cabin in all the time on this shed😮
The cabin is already built. His woodshed is turning into the focal point of art. It’s rad
yes, it's a wood shed studio that can give him experience in this type of building .He can make money from his videos all at the same time. Diego is also giving others a way to learn from his mistakes and accomplishments. Seems like a W if you see more then a woodshed. I like the fact he spends time to explain every thing if your a wood worker it's food for thought.
🇺🇦👍🏻
Nicest wood shed ever, but way too much and not needed...
I have been enjoying your channel/videos, but enough with the shed building videos already. Time to move on to new content. Hope you’re cool with feedback.
Ive tried, but I can't get into mark Normand comedy. I dont dislike him, just can't get into it. Now Bert kriesher its a huge no
Boards not shingles and with good wood you could make all that in a day. It's funny how something so easy is over dramatic on TH-cam and modern idiots pine over it
I personally rather see you do the technical stuff then just getting firewood and splitting wood those ones aren't so fun to watch to me
