Forgot the spell restrictions, I think Legendary was the most "true to D&D" part of the challenge! Although wizards are by far the strongest class at higher levels, it takes them a little while to work up to that - Gale definitely starts out as the typical squishy wizard backliner.
@@NazirNorth I reckon it would definitely work better if the difficulties were rebalanced so that you still took a lot of damage, but the enemies didn't have silly amounts of health. After all, the wizard at low levels isn't fragile because of a lack of damage output; they're fragile because of a lack of hit points.
this was very fun!. doing the college of winterhold quest does seem like a logical thing to do from both his dnd background (graduating) and mechanically since you will have acess to all the magic and items you would need. but i definitely understand the random dungeon clearing instead of studying as a way of becoming smarter for wizards in dnd lol.
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it, it's been a fun (if difficult!) playthrough so far. The collage definitely makes a lot of sense. Also, if I got Gale's enchanting skill high enough, I could probably try to replicate some DnD magi items!
Oh, was that one added with Dawnguard? I didn't realise! On reflection, it was a very cool and well designed dungeon. I was just too preoccupied with keeping my head on my shoulders to notice at the time!
"Can you play Skyrim like a D&D wizard?"
- proceeds to set the difficulty to Legendary

@@Parker8752 Yes, you're right. I think the only thing preventing me from changing the difficulty mid-run though is my own stubbornness!

@@NazirNorth oooo. that sounds hype. cant wait for the next episode. subbed.
Fun idea!
Thanks! It was actually way more difficult than I thought it would be! Still want to try and finish the main story quests if I can though.
you kinda started the dawnguard quest line with red water den.

Which one is that? Is it the one called "Marked for Death", or am I thinking of the wrong shout?
