Watching Calamity was such a beautiful moment in time because of how well Brennan is at storytelling and how well Matt is at world building! (Not saying either aren’t also good at the other thing, just that the combo was such a masterpiece!!)
Oh! The Ravening war! That's what it is, okay. I didn't read much about it because I don't want spoilers, but I saw the title, and I'm honestly so excited to see more ACoC stuff
Also how everyone at the table knows what is going to happen, but still had agency to get to that story point and tell their own stories was fricken amazing
Exandria Unlimited is basically CR inviting other people to create canonical fan fiction, and that is wild. I've actually told a few people that if you really want to get into Critical Role (being 3 campaigns behind), EXU Calamity is a great starting point in a really non-intuitive way. Since it's so ancient in terms of the timeline, there are no real spoilers (though you miss out on a few easter eggs like good old Pervon). Even though Matt isn't running the game, Brennan does an amazing job bringing the same energy and emotion to the world and the story. The players may be different from a normal CR campaign, but you get a really good feeling for how into ALL of the players get. And since it was a 4 part mini-campaign, it's long enough to test your attention span without being so long as to discourage you from getting started. If you watch the whole thing, you're bound to have developed enough of an opinion to decide if you want to continue into the long and winding road that is Critical Role, or you just aren't into it enough to commit the time, and that's okay, you still got one great and relatively self contained story out of the experience.
This kinda makes me think that the new season of dimension 20 with matthew mercer is gonna be a second or third season, like fantasy high or starstruck odyssey
Oh you think Matt will come into an existing world and not introduce his own? 🧐🧐🧐 interesting theory and will be up to par with Calamity but I’m still thinking that, like aabria, Matt will first come in with an original :)
Brennan: The amazing Luis Carazo, who is so, so talented and amazing. Me, having not watched CR: That name sounds familiar... Wait. This guy? th-cam.com/video/rYXtr8MYo7w/w-d-xo.html My only memory of him was being unimpressed by the voice direction in an ad. I guess I disagree with a bunch of people on the internet now. That can't end well.
Oh I don’t think you disagree with people on the internet, you’re just uninformed at the moment because you haven’t watched Calamity :) It’s 4 episodes homie. Watch it and come back to me with a revised opinion ;)
All CR content is pre-recorded now, it's just impossible on their scale to do it live. The actual gameplay is still improv and no cuts are made except during the advertisements and the mid-rolls.

Absolutely agreed!! It turned into a complete masterpiece because of this combination of brilliant minds...

@@THEshinigamy18 I could never!!!
Can’t wait to see what Matt Mercer thinks about DMing in the Crown of Candy universe
I'll ask him if I get to interview him. Fingers crossed!

How is Brennan so chaotic and yet so organised!
Watching Brennan's delight during Calamity just brings me so much joy every time I see it. It's so wholesome and genuine :D

The way Brennan gave so much care to his narration and gameplay💚👌
Exandria calamity is the best dnd storytelling I've ever witnessed

I would love a second Starstruck season with Sam, Travis, Lou, Emily and Talison, GM'd by Matt. Just imagine the chaos!
lol you must feel really smart now today
And now the new season is a prequel to ACOC ha. This is gonna be good lol
Hell Yeah!!!
Hey these clips are great, for convenience could you link like the original interview in the description or something? If its there its not obvious xD
For sure, Oliver! Thanks for pointing it out :)
Added it to the end screen. If you refresh and go to the last 20 seconds of the video you should see it there at the top right! :)
And now Matt gets to say "SAY HI SCRUMPTIOUS SCOUNDRELS!" :)

@@geek_peek You've got me there.
It was prerecorded. Not much trust there.
All cr is pre recorded, even the main cast pre records their campaign.

What are you on about? CR hasn't been live since Covid, and what does prerecording have to do with the quality?
