The winner of this story is the Sea Witch. She has a beautiful voice and lots of luxurious hair after her bargains with the little mermaid and her sisters. I wonder if she goes up to meet the prince after the story ends?
Hehehe, that is true, she seems to come out of this story as the winner.
I will always love the original versions of these stories.
Same here, such a classic.
How do you spell her name
The illustrations are beautiful
@@saraball800 It's Sirenetta :)
Thank you
A little different but closer to the one I know. In that one, the mermaid will; turn to foam, as mermaids have no soul. But since she gave her life for another she was taken by the spirits of the air where she could win a soul by doing good deeds
Thanks for your comment. This version is a bit shorter but still very close to the original.
The one I know she turns to dust over the sea…
I read a slightly different version where the sea witch actually cuts out the mermaid's tongue in exchange for her new legs...which will still hurt like she's walking on a thousand knives with every step she takes. She also dives into the ocean at dawn and turns into sea foam and is met by etheral beings that, because of her selflessness, will allow her to enter into heaven if she agrees to help others while in her new ethereal form for the next 300 years.
So many of these stories were passed down by oral tradition before Hans Christian Anderson recorded them. I still remember my Mom, the only time I saw her angry. She had read a version of Snow White where ... well, the ending was sadistic. She went right back to the library, "How can you have this in the children's section?!?"
I'd be interested to know what became of that version (quick version, new glass shoes (not Cinderella's) are made, then put on her feet before they cooled. Ends up dying in agony. Shudder.
@@griffinmathers929 Some versions could just be ones made up by sick individuals trying to pervert the stories. Much like how many people nowadays make "dark reimaginings" of stuff people like and 9 times out of 10 it's just a bunch of "shock for the sake of shock" edge lord garbage.
She is allowed to subtract a year from the 300 for every good child she finds, but if she has to cry for an evil or naughty child, every tear adds a day to the years.
@@griffinmathers929H.C. Anderson didn’t collect fairy tales, he wrote original stories.
You are confusing him with the Grimm brothers. They did collect fairy tales. And they did already censor them a bit in their second edition. In the original fairy tale, it was Snow White own mother that wanted to kill her.
@@jannetteberends8730 Wtf?
so sad but very beautiful message!
100% agree, it makes you think. Was her sacrifice worth it? Truly a timeless classic.
"dont kill your loved ones and you will become an Angel"
Powerful Message 😭✊
Or, pick a less easily confused man?
Thank you so much for such a lovely fairytale. Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Donkey Skin, Rapunzel, etc... ❤ from Chile
Thank you for watching! Many more to come, stay tuned. :)
This is such a beautiful story, my favourite fairytale. Thank you so much for posting!
Thank you for telling a wonderful tale with your wonderful voice!!
So sad and beautiful the story reading and the art.
❤❤❤
This is how the 2023 remake should’ve ended.
Thats true. But far to sad for disney i guess :)
Hi loved seeing the illustrations and the narration please do Snow White and Cinderella please 🙏
Definitely. Both fairy tales will definitely be coming soon too. Great stories!❤❤❤
Sad but yet beautiful story to hear 💜💜💜 amazing video! Keep it up 💜💜💜 the little mermaid is now my favorite fairy tale from Hans Christian Andersen 💜💜💜💜 I wish there was a movie about this 💜💜💜
Thank you soo much! :)
A beautiful fairytale, well done.
Thanks so much!

Beautiful video. My daughter loves these!
You are beautiful! ;)
Wow beautifully done I'm so subscribing 👏😍👏
Thank you soooo much! It means alot to us.
I like the bubble version since Japan version since it will make sense to a fairytale on my Disney live action version
Very beautiful sad stories 😢❤
Thank you. ❤
Disney's Live-Action Remake of The Little Mermaid actually made a reference to this by Scuttle saying "Has Ariel killed the Prince yet?"
I always wondered what happened to the original fairytale. It probably wouldn't be as popular with the kids as the G rated \ Disney version though.
Yeah that is true, if they would have stuck to the original story you would have a lot of crying kids at the end. :)
We like both versions.
@@Graphic-KingdomI watched a similar original version as the one here at around 6yo old and I did cry, for days.. it was the first ‘depression’ I remember.
i know another one but i dont know if its right or im just imagining things, so basically the mermaid saw the prince sleeping late at night and she was supposed to kill him with a knife but she didn't, 😲
Why didn’t the woman tell the Prince it wasn’t her not doing that is extremely selfish
This isn't disturbing its just sad😢
I love it, Little Mermaid is my fav story when I was growing up, I love Hans Christian Andersen, he's my fav author along with Rev. W.Awdry (Thomas the Tank Engine) & Stan Lee (Marvel Comics)
What is the background song called. Also love the story
Sid Acharya - Falling Through the Hourglass. ❤
The original story no happy ending
Exactly, not every story has to have a happy ending.
@@Graphic-Kingdom yup
0:24 Ah, what was that?!
beautiful illustrations...but more like an abridged version rather than THE tale by Andersen.
Thank you so much! Yes you are correct, it is a shortened version.
Cinderlla
Thanks for the suggestion.
It is on the list. :)
The true version im sick of Disney lies they love to teach everyone pleasant it does not work in real life.
Disney changed the story so it was suitable for kids.
Don't try to make it up with this good-deed, airgirl holy-speech. She's dead and that's it. A healthy kid grows up on classic fairy tales true love kiss, happily ever-after and so on, that's what he will pass to their kids, and will be always attempting to hide THIS from them. That's my opinion
I call bs 😂
Subworthy!
Thanks so much! it means alot.
