As a Turkish person, I wasn't able to be in Turkey for this year . I was feeling sad that I couldn't be able to attend 100. years celebrations and after watching your video I actually cried. I would like to be there. Thanks for your video.
You know what makes me real emotional about this? We've been facing so many problems as a nation, I mean so many. It's not something that can be easily defined as "economic turmoil" or things like that, that would be an understatement. Especially in the last 10 years, this nation suffered from a lot of things: terror, economic crisis, societal problems, violence... We've lost our reputation in the world arena, we've somehow become the unwanted people and nation in Europe or pretty much anywhere in the world besides some exceptions. The people of Turkish Republic have been going through a process of deep insecurity, facing with unimaginable uncertainty regarding their future and their place in the world. We've been trying to convince others that we are not bad, we are not a place where you would feel unsafe, and you know what, it is so freaking frustrating. But besides all these, all these negativity surrounding us for almost a decade now, what you see in this video is also real. As the citiziens of Republic of Türkiye, we may curse at each other, we may dislike each other, we may fight and we may hurt each other while trying to cope with all our problems. But when it comes to our nation, our Republic, we are united. We become one, we celebrate what we share altogether, with pride. We forget what makes our lives dark and unbearable, but we remember the light that we have always followed, which is still there, no matter what. And it is not something that only some of us are aware and enjoy, but even though most of us do not know about it, it's something every Turkish citizen knows deep down. So what you see in this video, is not merely a big group of people coming together, watching a concert and waving flags. It's much more than that, it's what loyalty exactly means, what a feeling of belonging is. It's what despite everything, what keeps us here, alive, what keeps us going, what gives meaning to our lives. There are so many things I dislike and disapprove about my country, actually not about my country but the way things are handled and executed here. But I'm still proud. I've been to 28 countries around the world, lived in some of them for long time. And I know wherever I go, there are certainly things that I would not be able to find, the things that made me "me", the things that this nation and these people taught me and inspired me about, the things that we should not take for granted and feel proudly confident about. I love my people, I love my country.
I went back to the Bourdain restaurant today and they closed early because they ran out of meat. I’ll get it on video soon though. Thanks for watching!
I also study in Poland and I was sad that I missed my country's 100th year of celebration. I watched your video with tears, thank you very much for recording and sharing with us. I am sad but my stay is temporary so i'm gonna pay off when i start to give lectures to my engineering students in my country. One thing about us: we are proud of our country and we try to do our best to sustain our freedom and indipendency and we try to safe our country from different threats every once in a while. This is literally a daily conversation in every meal table between everyone no matter where you are. Even in cafes, in universities and in our family conversations 😂 so i love us for that.
My advice to Turks is to never lose their love for their country. It's the only country who ever accept them as Turks, nowhere else. The only countries that would "accept" them are now struggling to accept themselves (like the US, where I've grown up). Find your own way of life, love your neighbors in the region, and don't ever believe you must live under the shadows of the West. The world is changing in a way that simply will not be true.
Thank you witnessing and sharing this great day for Turks. Türkiye is a peninsula of peace surrounded by so many unstable countries unfortunately. I am glad we are not an oil-rich country, otherwise the money thirsty politicians of the west would try to make us unstable, too. Actually, they still try since they do not want a strong Türkiye in the middle east. We will emerge the most envied country in the 21st century along with China, I hope. We have that potential.
Turkey is not an Arab country and will never be. We, as REAL Turks, won't tolerate and accept that! Never confuse Turkey with an Arab country, never! We are so different! ☝️
🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷 Thanks for the video

Thank you for this lovely video. I loved it! Being in Istanbul for the first time ever, you are very lucky to witness Turkish nation's precious and historical 100th year joy. I was in Istanbul, Bağdat Street on this awesome day and I felt so happy to sing the Turkish National Anthem and all other old and new anthems for Republic of Türkiye, together with all the proud crowd. I feel the emotions of Turkish people who were not in Türkiye on that day. Even I was sad not to be able to see all the points of Istanbul like Bosphorus, Istiklal Street etc. I would like to be in every celebration. :) And I'm glad to hear that you'll be in Ankara on November 10th. Right time, right location. I finish my words with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's historical words, "Peace at home, peace in the world!"
Great work your video. Seeing such celebrations in my country for 100th year of independence brought tears to my eyes. I love Turkiye and Turkish people. Vicarious travel and learning - thank you.
Oh and sideburns growing in nicely.
I went back to the Bourdain restaurant today and they closed early because they ran out of meat. I’ll get it on video soon though. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, it’s been a part time job hahaha
I also study in Poland and I was sad that I missed my country's 100th year of celebration. I watched your video with tears, thank you very much for recording and sharing with us. I am sad but my stay is temporary so i'm gonna pay off when i start to give lectures to my engineering students in my country.
One thing about us: we are proud of our country and we try to do our best to sustain our freedom and indipendency and we try to safe our country from different threats every once in a while. This is literally a daily conversation in every meal table between everyone no matter where you are. Even in cafes, in universities and in our family conversations 😂 so i love us for that.
Good to know! Thanks for sharing that
özlem canım bu üzüntünü anladım yer değiştirebiliriz gel ülkene dön ben senin yerine okumaya devam ederim cok özlemişssindir şimdi
Republic Day is so important for us. Thank you for sharing this video. The singer you listened to was Mazhar Alanson.
Im glad you liked it! After I found out about MFO at that concert I started listening to them hahaha
Thank you for all the effort brother, welcome again and feel like at your own home! 🇹🇷
I appreciate it! Feeling very welcomed!
Thank you very much for this wonderful video. I am proud of my country. Happy 100th anniversary of our Republic. Republic and Atatürk forever. ❤❤❤♾♾♾
Thanks for watching! More videos in Türkiye on the way!
@@TravelLordOnLoc looking forward to it❤
Thank you witnessing and sharing this great day for Turks.
Im excited to learn more! Planning to spend some time here learning about the history and culture. Stay tuned for new videos!
Çin in Amerikadan farkı var mı?
@@musakarakaya2483 Yes, I've lived in both places
@@TravelLordOnLoc What is meant by difference is the policies, peaceful approaches, etc. of both countries. He said thinking it wasn't..
Turkey is not an Arab country and will never be. We, as REAL Turks, won't tolerate and accept that! Never confuse Turkey with an Arab country, never! We are so different! ☝️

I just discovered your channel. Your videos about Turkey are great. Thank you very much.
Glad you like them!
The singer was Mazhar Alanson. The instrument you liked is called "saz", a very Turkish, very traditional instrument. Thanks for your vlog. I didn't get to be in Turkey to celebrate. I very much appreciate you documenting how it was ❤❤
I appreciate you watching it!

Congratulations, good timing for the video. There are also excellent cities in Turkey other than Istanbul. I hope you go to cities like Izmir and Muğla.
It was planned! And I am staying here to cover different cities for the next two to three months. I'll check those out!

As someone who has recently moved to Poland, I wish I could be in Türkiye for its 100th anniversary celebrations. Thank you for sharing this great video.
I was just in Poland two months ago as you can see from my other videos hahaha. I'm glad you liked this video!
And I'm glad to hear that you'll be in Ankara on November 10th. Right time, right location.
I finish my words with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's historical words, "Peace at home, peace in the world!"
Yeah I’m excited to go check it out! Thanks for watching also!

Great work your video. Seeing such celebrations in my country for 100th year of independence brought tears to my eyes. I love Turkiye and Turkish people. No other nation on earth can hate each other but when there is a threat to one from others all will become one with in seconds. Turkiye and Turkiyes Flag will be forever exist for it is the Blessit nation occupies the land. How lucky and happy to be able to say "I'm proud to be a Turk" ❤🇹🇷🎉
