At 6:38, somehow when Kevin went into that hazard he skipped like 20+ minutes of gameplay where you meander around (linearly) finding more people and being told about what they've learned while exposed to The Thing(s) hanging around the area, which teaches you about how to use certain weapons and gets you familiar with the enemies in a slightly more enclosed setting. Like quite a lot of story and tutorial was skipped here lol. Not that I think many people would care to know this, but in case you're wondering where those guys come from, you're supposed to find them hiding out as you explore the wrecked buildings, and you have to gain their trust before they come with you by giving them tools, healing them, or arming them. 37:23 In actually, it wouldn't be weird for Pace to wonder naked out into the snowstorm, it's a real phenomenon called paradoxical undressing. The final stage of hypothermia causes people to be in a hightened state of confusion & disorientation. Once the person starts feeling overwhelmingly, irrationally hot, they'll unconsciously strip naked.
It's because as frostbite of exposed skin sets in and the nerve endings in the skin become damaged, the hypothermia victim starts to feel hot as if they are burning, and starts to take off clothes.
When you're at the very last stages you can't keep your body heat inside anymore, so it starts coming back out to your skin and makes your skin hot while your organs freeze, I think.
@@TF2CrunchyFrogIt's actually because the part of your brain that's responsible for thermoregulation has given up and no longer processes heat properly, or your muscles have been overwhelmed and are no longer stifling blood flow to your extremities. Usually, your body will limit the flow of blood outside of your core in extremely cold situations because it carries heat away and it's better that you lose fingers or even entire limbs to frostbite than for your core to be allowed to dip too low. However, once you overtax your muscles contracting your blood vessels, they relax and the blood flows normally again, making you feel warm even as you freeze to death. It's why paradoxical undressing is so disheartening: it's generally a sign you've passed the point of no return and death to hypothermia is imminent.

@@fuzzyotterpaws4395 The 3.54 Million Subscriber Count TH-camr CallMeKevin played the game in the video "The Thing but its a weird PS2 game" back in 2019.
Edit: The comment turned out meaner I guess than I intended, as I wrote it as a callback to the appnana video 🤣

It took Kevin like three quarters of the video to realize the little Things spit at you when they've been spitting at him since like, his second encounter with them 🤦😂
I rarely comment, but this game is one of the first games i've played and it's so nostalgic and fun to see Kevin play this. The way he takes on the game is just funny in itself. Just hope to see a 2nd part of this game if it would be possible. The game will give quite a few surprises
This longer format of letting things unfold with fewer edits and a slower pace is really nice, keep up the great work 👍🏻👍🏻
"They used to call me The Thing back in High school." RTGame reference in Kevin's video? :D
You can't be betrayed by your crew, if you betray them first. Genius Kevin strikes again...
I named a houseplant after you, Kevin.
It's taking over my kitchen.
I haven't seen the cat in a while.
I believe that the original title was: "This 2002 ps2 game is better than it any right has to be"
But it's not. The game just promises a lot.
Finally a generous representation of every group I've been in for a school project...love to see it
Congratulations to Kevin and Pace! Wishing them the best in their marriage
I love how the game designers broke the rules of the Geneva convention in the game😊😊😊
the moment i heard the wind and saw the text i knew you were playing the thing
i love it so very much
thank you for playing it!!
The scariest thing is knowing that Kevin is in charge
Kevin always manages to create best love stories in his gameplays. ❤
I remember when you first played this game, still one of my fav videos from you, so glad you came back to play it again, this game is hilarious.
The only people who should be scared are there people working for Kevin because… kevin
I'm new to this channel, did this guy really just pull a Bruce-Willis-giving-Alan-Rickman-an-empty-gun-on-the-roof-of-the-Nakatomi-plaza move in the first minute of gameplay? That takes gumption, forthwith and genital confidence.
Did anyone notice they only used one needle for the blood test...
The Thing crawled so Among Us could imposter
The Thing vented 👀
@@psychomanatee3459 Im assuming Among Us is an unoficial sequel to The Thing and the impostors are all actually Things. It kinda explains everything. One could even said the crew menbers look the way they do because humanity evolved to resist the Thing infection and in turn became more alienish. But that would be too much wild theorizing.
@@pedrovallefin8406 yeah, among us is 100% inspired by things like The Thing, but it's also a concept that's existed for awhile. I'm pretty sure The Thing is inspired by a Lovecraft story, so that's also pretty cool
I love pace. His character is done so well.
You need to release the full version of the song at the end Kevin I’m begging you
i’m a long time viewer. the first video i saw of his was a sims 3 video where he built a house and there was like no commentary for a third of it lol, but i kept watching because his play style was so chaotic and different from anyone else i could find on yt at the time. over the years i’ve watched him grow and change while coming into himself and i really hope he’s happier now and feels like some of the weight has been lifted off his shoulders since he took a step back. i’ve also noticed a wild difference in quality in the last couple of months. it kind of reminds me of when he left yt for a while and came back, the difference in quality i mean. if you’ve read this far this is your reminder to call your grandma. it’s actually obligatory so you like have to do it right now or you’ll go to jail
Kevin, hope you're doing well. Been watching a ton of stuff recently, kind of missing the uploads. Hope you keep doing what makes you happy!
1:49 Pretty sure they only tried to divide 0 by 0
The most frustrating part of The Thing video game is that all of the companions are scripted to turn into monsters at certain points if they are still alive. There's nothing you can do to avoid this. Plus toward the end of the game it just becomes ridiculously hard, especially with the boss fights. The game was a good concept, it just wasn't tuned right.
Kevin this is a masterpiece! You're taking gaming videos to a whole new level of entertainment. Keep it up and thanks for the hours of entertainment.
Loving the production quality of this. You spoil us too much Kevin.
Kevin + John Carpenter's The Thing, two of my favourite things in one amazing video
Kevin should play Dress to Impress
I kept wishing the ai could react to what he was saying, I’d love to see Kevin play “suck up!”, that game where you’re a vampire trying to convince ai that they should invite you into their house using your voice
Yep, this couldn't go bad at all... Putting Kevin in charge is the first mistake.
That was phenomenal Kevin! 👏🏻 Your creativity knows no bounds. From the voice editing to the end where you have Kevin + Pace on the frozen glass. 😮 This was a treat! A trick or treat if you will! 👍🏼👽🎃
The best part is when Kevin says [Kevin]
Your role playing is entertaining and fun!
The amount of times I died laughing at this! 😂 Thank you sir. After the hurricane I definitely needed this
Bro! How did you even download this game! You’re a genius Kevin!
the sequel we all needed
'Well your transmitter's down and everything else is FUBAR...'
please i want you to do this entire game!!!
7:54 “yeah! 🥰 Alright, now we’re all buddies 😇”

The world is neither flat nor a globe it is a crumpled up folded and unfolded mess of high mountains and low valleys.
We perceive it as a globe because of gravity.
This is actually Kevin at his kindest, I remember when he used to trap people and make them ask permission from the sink to be let free.
We missed you 😭
2:13 i was not expecting a rec room joke! Brilliant
18:42 Kevin making me think one of my peripherals disconnected from my PC
Yeah I had to rewind that and be sure lol
R.i.p. pace 2024 29 oct-29 Minutes
I’m disappointed Kurt Russell’s hat was not included in this game.
I'm glad to see Kevin had the chance to voice act again
i`m loving the whole cinematic edit, Kevin best movie maker
Rightttt
3:44 is up there with some of the hardest lines kevins ever said
Call me goat simulator 3 cause Kevin should play me
he already did
That was amazing. The stun gun and the random murloc sound effect both had me LOLing!
Why am I weirdly attracted to post-apocalyptic Kevin
Real
It's not just you
I always love it when we get an happy ending 😁 I am so happy for you Kevin for finding your life partner. Congratulations 🥳
Ps2 graphics Kevin is probably all I needed to see in a thumbnail.
I wish you could introduce Jim Pickens and Turg into a scenario like this
