    Awesome! I’m going to upload in a few minutes one of my springs I told you about. It’s a year round spring like the others. It’s great to see another one of your videos!

    Wow man. This is exactly the information I was looking for. I have a similar situation. A little less length and I think probably a little less elevation too. Gonna go out tomorrow and get a hypothetical elevation reading. Thanks for the great videos!

      If you have a I phone go to the compass App in the tools there’s a altimeter there mine is only in 10’ increments but it’s close enough

    Nice work . I've seen the white gravel in bags,is the powder on there anything to worry about, or is it something that can be cleaned off?

    • @basecampwnc1745
      @basecampwnc1745  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes they should have washed off the gravel
      It will settle down and be caught up in the spring box
      Thanks for your comment

      @@basecampwnc1745 do you have a setup for a spring that's has slow flow and low head drop? Any creek watering system to pump water up hill without electricity? Maybe solar?

    Hi was wondering about what rocks or gravel do you use..? Different size stones or all one size? Thanks

    • @basecampwnc1745
      @basecampwnc1745  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Any size that fits in the dam wall
      From about the size and f a quarter to a soft ball
      Your just filling the hole to keep the sediment from building up

    I developed a spring last year from the info on your channel, thank you! A question I can't seem to find however after inspecting my spring is, should the water flow be the same diameter as the pipe to prevent mold growth? I noticed that the pipe did have algae growing. Maybe I should just shock it or does decreasing the pipe size to prevent any air actually help? Thank you for all the help!

    • @basecampwnc1745
      @basecampwnc1745  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Which pipe is the algae in
      From the spring or going into the cistern
      I guess either way you will need to shock it
      Normally the spring water is too cool for algae to grow
      This is if the spring dam is covered
      If the pipe from the spring to the box and then to the cistern is maybe exposed to the sunshine or able to warm up then this is where it may need to be covered more
      It’s still best to shock it from the spring and clean it up
      Google water purification with bleach to get the proper rate
      Use regular bleach
      If you would take some pictures before and after of your project
      Be nice to post them to show others and maybe help them with similar problems
      And as always subscribe like and share
      Thanks

    Hi there,
    I appreciate you sharing your video, much expertise in it, I’m having some difficulty understanding the difference between a spring, and a stream, if you can help me understand the difference I will greatly appreciate it.

    • @basecampwnc1745
      @basecampwnc1745  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A stream is many springs combined
      A spring is the very beginning of the stream
      You really want to collect water from a spring
      This is the very best source
      No surface water collection
      Surface water is where the water gets contaminated with bacteria

    How do you keep rain water out of catch damn?

    • @basecampwnc1745
      @basecampwnc1745  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The catch dam is covered with plastic sheeting and covered with dirt to keep surface water out
      If needed a trench above the spring diverting water around the spring site
