  • A film made by two former Mississauga high school students is making its debut at Slamdance - one of the biggest film festivals showcasing the works of new independent filmmakers.
‘Therapy Dogs’ was written by Ethan Eng and Justin Morrice and directed by Eng. Using cell phones and a professional movie camera, the best friends shot the film during their senior year at Mississauga's Cawthra Park Secondary School in 2019. The two friends, now 20, said they wanted to create an honest portrait of high school and teenage suburban life as they were living it.
The film was chosen out of more than 1,100 feature submissions from around the world to premiere at Slamdance 2022.
**UPDATE: Eng is the winner of the AGBO Fellowship, a $25,000 prize awarded by Slamdance alumni Anthony & Joe Russo (Avengers: Endgames Captain America: Civil War). He will receive mentorship from the Russo brothers and development support from their studio for his next film.
