I love how you are always making friends with total strangers. In a time when everyone is head down looking at their phone, to look up and engage with someone is so important! As a Finn, we are proud of our Saunas and we have it in our houses next to bathroom mostly, some small city apartments excluded. And of course our summer houses next to lake. And of course the proper ones as just as this was heated with wood, not those electric ones! Finland is a small country of only 5.5 million people but we have over 3 million Saunas here! 😃

Seriously in that weather in Finland it definitely was a must to have a sauna back in a day! i love it though in my region in summer everywhere outside is actually a sauna without a roof!😂

You can tell how imprinted (in a good way...) Camper is with you! He just seems to radiate joy on all the adventures you undertake! Fun to think he was "guided to" you and your mother that day, as you started your hike! You are both so lucky you discovered each other!

I love that Nikki takes Camper everywhere she’s able to even in to the bathrooms. I very rarely leave my dog in my van because I’m afraid somebody will steal my van with my dog in it. I would be devastated.

My home state is Ohio but I always felt like I had two home states with Michigan. Toledo is right on the Ohio Michigan border, so I grew up spending quite a bit of time in both states. Now I live in the Florida Keys which is AMAZING. Still miss the green trees, camp grounds, and gorgeous parks of NW Ohio and SE Michigan though.
I’ve been wanting to get up to see Michigan for the last six years! Hopefully one day soon I can get up there!

Michigan is by far one of my favorite places in the U.S. I spent a lot of my time as a solo female traveler on the east coast. That's where my journey began. I love watching your adventures! It brings back fond memories of Hocking Hills and now Michigan. Thank you for giving me new ideas and inspiration. Now I'm on the west coast traveling. Just visited your favorite truck stop bathtub LOL I'm definitely thinking of going back to Saugatuck and Upper Peninsula before the end of summer.

I did my first true ice bath a few months ago in Mexico. That was an experience. I had done my legs only before and that was tough...but whole body (up to neck) was a whole different expereince!!

I'm so glad you put up a video of riding the dunes Nikki! A friend of mine has friends up there and he was telling me about this. I had no idea there were places like that in Michigan! That would be so much fun! I never realized how beautiful it is up there. Those strawberries looked amazing!

I don't know how I got to your channel, but I got goose bumps when I saw that park sign and recognized the office area when you drove to it.
I remember those stairs towards the beach very well too.
My girlfriend and I happened to get the camping spot to the left of that stairs.
We were very lucky since it was the 4th of July 2019, and it seemed like everyone was out to go camping 🤔.
The first night we were allowed to stay at the field near the office, because all the spots were taken.
I always wake up early and after a short recon the next morning, we moved our tiny tent from the field to that great spot.
Lake Michigan was 'refreshing'🥶, but during the day it was well above 80F, so that was actually nice.
The chipmunks came close to our tent and were a joy to watch.
Great times! And very friendly camp site staff indeed.

That sunset over the lake was MAGICAL! I've been to Indiana Dunes State Park. It shocked me to find such large, cool sand dunes...IN INDIANA!
You run into some of the nicest little, good quality places to buy coffee and food! The best!!
