Might be because it is. This is using the song from the first stage of SoR 2. Sorry Robin. If you really did make the entire piece per note; you managed to get an exact replica of the first stage song in your remix. The song in question is called "go straight". But Robin has definitely emphasized some of the music's pieces. And it is a good remix Robin. Not hating.
@@ManuFortis Would you believe that this is a decloned version of the song? The original played at a similar tempo, and used a completely different percussion track that mimicked Yuzo Koshiro's style. A lot of it was unintentional. Then when my friend pointed it out in private, I decided to change more things around before releasing it, like the drum pattern and the tempo, which ended up working much better than in the original variant. I still have the original saved up as an FLAC file somewhere on my computer. At least Act 1 is mostly original from my understanding. When it comes to fully rearranged remixes, I just try to find catchy patterns... but I guess I had Streets 2 on my mind as I made this one.
@@RobinNerdington Yes, you definitely changed some things in a slight way here or there. For instance, the stuff falling from windows and crashing sound that the original uses, you definitely turned up the sound of that and used it. (Which is perfectly fine, of course.) And you used it very well in conjuction with the metropolis zone sounds. But yeah, aside from the percussion bit you mention which I will need to listen again to compare; it is remarkably similar. Which is of course to be expected to some degree. Remixes can be all sorts of changed up versions of a song, or barely changed at all depending on what's being done with them. Also to be clear, I do realize that it is absolutely possible to somehow manage to put all the right notes in the right order to recreate a song without realizing it. It's kind of part of why remixes are a legal form of music creation via fair use. I just wanted to help clear up the reason why it sounds so much like SoR 2. Because, the song... intentional or not, is 'Go Straight' from SoR 2. But that all said, it is a good beat, and you did a good job with it. No hate, no shame, no judgement. I'm just a certain way, and sometimes come off the wrong way; though I could probably try a bit harder to not...
This has to be the funkiest one yet! This is definitely my favorite, removing all the annoying parts (aka all of it) from metropolis' theme, and making a completely new funky beat!! Keep at it!! :D Edit: As another comment said, I definitely think you should be hired. If there's ever a pure Sonic 2 remaster/re-imagining, you'd be perfect for the job!
@@the-NightStar It isn't a straight up copy. If I did try to copy it, I would've mentioned it, but I didn't. If you really wanna proof, pitch the song to the same key note as "Go Straight" and see if its a copy as you make it seem like. I'm not gonna keep wasting time with this pointless argument anyways. I remember when Robotnik said in Sonic Forces "I built a backup under Metropolis!" And my mind immediately went right to the original Metropolis Zone but waaaay harder... But then i woke up to reality and realized Sonic Forces was awful. :(
@@RoshiBro08 Sonic 06 tried. Sonic Forces didn't even try at all. The team behind Sonic Forces had 5 or more years to develop the game while Sonic 06 only had one year to be finished. All the good bits from the game are in it's story. Sonic Forces had no plot, it felt like it lacked hard. Nothing was explained as the writing team for Sonic Forces was really bad. The only good thing I can say is that the level themes were interesting, but they were wasted on a game as bad as that one and the level design was really bad as well. Sonic 06 came out the way it did because they had no time to develop the game. They were using completely new hardware, so they needed time to learn how to work with new architecture, and I believe that 06 was the first main-series title to use a physics engine as well. The reason why the game came out really buggy is due to a huge mismanagement issue. Remember, this was the time where most AAA devs still wanted to make games fun and interesting, and it's no different with 06, because as bad as it is, you can tell they actually tried to deliver a good product unlike with the developers we have today. The composers for the entire soundtrack did an excellent job. I don't think there is a single track I found to be awful. Shadow also feels like the most complete character out of the main three, as he's the only one that can use an "alternate form/power up" mid-gameplay.
This fits the energy of the Tezuka manga this was based on. Also, the loose anime adaptation of the Metropolis manga has a reference to the Sonic zone, as the subterranean levels of the city were divided into 3 zones, each introduced with a font similar to the Sonic font.

Fire, Smoke and Toxic smog! Julius has gone very funky in destroying civilisation I see! Electro-Banger!
Very good use of 'Go Straight' with Metropolis Zone.
Very incredible job with this remix
The song reminds me of Tidal Tempist with the clanging metal stuff in the back!
I guess sonic and friends are sneaking around metropolis

Streets of rage
Go straight
So it's basically Go Straight from Streets Of Rage 2, then? Because this is just Go Straight in a different key.
Quite similar, but not an outright copy. The fact it even sounds anything like Go Straight is pure coincidence.
It is a remix and still uses parts of metropolis.
