    This is the hard way to change a bulb. The easier way to do it is to leave the light assembly in but remove the entire engine so that you can access behind it. Remove the transmission too.

    If you are just replacing the headlight, the daytime one all the way on the end of each side rather than closer to the inside, you don’t have to do meerkat any of this. Just pop off that back cap covering it, unhook the two metal prongs that’s holding the light in there. Pull it out. Press the tab to get it off the wire. Replace it. Put it back in. Put the cap back on and you’re done 🙂

    After watching this video, I decided to do it the easy way. NO TOOLS ARE REQUIRED! For low beam, you twist off the round cap, push the bulb retaining clip toward center to unlock it and flip it up, pull bulb straight out, disconnect wire, and do the reverse. That's it. No tools required, small hands preferred.

    You can change fogs, highs, and lows by only removing water reservoir and air box. A little tight, and you have to be able to work by feel, but not bad. Took me a little over an hour yesterday.

    As others said, you DONT need to take your cart apart if you`re gonna jsut change the bulbs! It`s as easy as on any other car. Left side might be a nuisance if you have big hands like me but all you need to do to have perfect access is to remove the wheel arch cover, thats like 5 clips, 3 min work tops.

    You do not have to remove the headlight or bumper bar, on some models loosening off the washer bottle and/or air box is required, also the park light globe pulls out, not twist. Also that "crash sensor" is the connector for the fog lamp on higher trim models.

    I appreciate the help, but I just changed my low beams (farthest to the outside) and it did not require me to do anything but reach my hand in there. I took out an orange colored bulb by accident on the first attempt, so at least 2 of the bulbs come out without any tools required.

    Like so may others have said: do not follow the advice in this video if you have even the least level of mechanical ability. It is not hard to replace any of the bulbs without removing any part of the car. This video borders on the ridiculous.

  • @amberwest6595
    @amberwest6595 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really appreciate this video. I've had to remove the entire drivers side headlight assembly to work on a wiring issue which i have discovered i need to actually replace the assembly due to some pretty crazy looking wiring where someone else has previously tried to fix this issue of the low beam not working. Some of the screws for the bumper were different but I'm also working on an 04 so i didn't figure it'd be exact but it definitely walked me through to where i could figure out how to remove the assembly to see what was going on.

  • @ManKidRides
    @ManKidRides 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The bulbs go by hours of use, so high beam doesn't necessarily need to be changed depending on how often you're driving about with high beam on. Usually not nearly as much as low beam.

  • @125AXer
    @125AXer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Prior to finishing the assembly, or even putting back in the bolts which hold the headlight assemblies to the car, I always make sure to temporarily reconnect the battery and test the lights. Get one incomplete connection, or one bad bulb, and you'll regret having to take the whole front end apart again to correct the problem!

  • @jaredoliver3296
    @jaredoliver3296 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just to clarify she is incorrect on which is high and low beam. The inner bulb (towards grill in headlight) is the daytime running (where applicable) and then turns off when the low beams are turned on. The low beams are the outer most bulb in the projector housing. Once the high beams are turned on the ones that were dim lit in the reflector housing inside the rectangle cover section for daytime running light turn on full voltage along with the projector lense bulbs.
    Otherwise great video from 2 years ago

    This method is the best way to upgrade bulbs to 6000K HID low beam and LED high beam, whilst also installing 6000K white LED parking light and orange LED indicators. Why? Because the time you take fucking around trying to get your hands into the tight spots is almost as long as quickly ripping the bumper off and having the whole headlight assembly sitting on your workbench. So, where do you get all these bulbs? eBay, who'll shit all over your local auto parts store on price.
