Another great video mate, thanks for doing Brett Stuart and Gregg Bird. Another good one would be Josh Dugan. He was good mates with Ferguson and had their off field dramas between the two. A genuine player but many wondered what happened.
Loved the video mate you’re doing great work! I would love to see a video covering the Period following 60 minutes Alex McKinnon injury and the drama surrounding Cameron smith I think it’s often forgotten today
Has there being an immortal named since? Hands down the greatest to ever play the game, a natural gift few possess, no one is better. An immortal for a reason, saw what others didnt see. The MJ of the league world.
I'm no Newcastle supporter nor even a big league watcher anymore, but to those saying Johns wasn't that good, put down the pipe. I would have rather my side face any other names mentioned in these comments. The number of games he won single-handedly in a poor team was ridiculous. He wasn't super fast or extremely tricky, but he was the artist like no one I've seen before.
What was the season that the knights lost something like 11/12 to start the season then won 10/12 to finish the season and the nrl was actually talking about giving them the 8th place because they were playing so well and the other teams around 7,8, and 9 were playing so badly ??!! 2005? 2006? Does anyone remember that?
How did he manage to be an immortal before Mel? good to be a n.s.w player. They definitely rush him to be one before all the qld players are lining up.
Andrew Johns being called an immortal is a joke. By his own admission he was a drug user when he was playing. An immortal should be a person who inspires others, particularly youngsters through God gifted talent alone. Not someone who uses drugs to enhance their performance by masking his inadequacies.
You are absolutely clueless about Aussie culture then mate. Especially in footy. Don’t pin him as some anomaly. All the other greats have done all of it as well. And these aren’t “performance enhancing drugs” you absolute clown. He would’ve been better if he was completely sober. So your point only proves his “God Gifted Ability”. Absolute clown 🤡
@Artificial-Influencers brainlet, you have no idea what you're talking about. Lol As someone who used a hell lot of it, I can promise you that it wouldn't help you perform better. Now run off back to your corner

No he didn’t. Everything that he gets credit for came from other players. Sterling made halfbacks have to become game managers. Stuart was the first authentic tactical kicker in the game. Alfie had 3 rule changes because of him and was the first to do the cross kick for the winger. What did John’s change? Tackling?? I wonder if that coincided with the fact John’s was the first to be a full time professional from 18 not mid 20s. Joey was great but he didn’t change the game at all.
I reckon if you swap them. Knights win no premierships while broncos win 5 straight. I recall one season the knights won 80% of the games Joey played vs 0% he was out. I’ve never seen one player have such a massive impact on their teams results statistically as Joey. Broncos were basically the Queensland origin team in the 90s, anybody would look good in that team.
@@ronaldball9389 I’m not saying Lockyer was the goat but he was a great player. His accolades speak for themselves. You acting like Lockyer was a slouch. There’s a reason why he has more games as Aussie captain than any other player, and I’m pretty sure he has the most tries for the kangaroos as well. But I will say that Lockyer was one of the toughest, classiest and most hard working players you’ll ever see. He had an amazing career and never winged or complained about shit. Plus he wasn’t a druggo or prejudiced in any way (to my knowledge, at least).

They were surrounded by other match-winners in the teams they played for. Look what happened to Newcastle in 2005 - they lost their first 13 games in a row when he was injured. He comes back, leads the Blues to Origin victory and they win 8 of their last 11 games
@@ronyoung8563 I went and watched old origins, langer and Stuart sucked. Actually 19 year old kids today are more skilled than they were. Langer struggled to kick the ball 40 metres. He basically needed his forwards to be dominating to be effective. Stuart performed better but not by much. Both of those guys are overrated. Wouldn’t even be playing first grade in 2024 with their abilities. Watched some of Joey’s games too, was on another level. He also was playing halfback when picked at 9. He would defend at hooker then play halfback in attack. Smart coaching
He was MJ. That period of late 90's early 00's, there was nothing like watching Johns, Lockyer and Fittler.
It's no coincidence that QLD went on their amazing run from 2006 when he played his last Origin game in 2005

Doesn't alter the fact that he is a grub and not the greatest that ever played the game, that distinction belongs to John Raper
Why is he a grub?

Dave Brown, Frank Burge, Mal Meninga, Dally Messenger, and Norm Provan (all 2018)
