One of my favorite King book's, you are spot on about how you feel sorry for Blaze and don't want anything bad to happen to him but at the same time you know this is going to end badly. It is a sad story. You should have mentioned how Blaze used to be a good kid and really smart and what happened to him that he landed as a ward of the state.
Love the shirt! Prince is my favorite musician of all time. His passing was my personal "day the music died". Also, I liked Blaze. It was a dark book, but I like dark books.
Brian, your books are narrated by Mr. Tim Gerard Reynolds, and he's absolutely amazing. Damn nice Purple Rain T-shirt. If I'm listening to an Audible book ,1.25x speed is perfect. It also knocks off several hours.
This reviewer missed a vital point about the deceased character of George who from time to time talks to Blaze and whom blaze sees. The novel makes it look at first as if George is an hallucination in Blaze's mind. But this is contradicted by the fact George, although deceased, is a lot smarter than Blaze has ever been. The deceased George thinks of things to tell Blaze that Blaze has never thought of or has forgotten. And on a couple of occasions, the deceased George tells Blaze that someone is coming or something is happening that is outside the range of what Blaze could possibly see or know. Only part of this could be explained by the idea that part of Blaze's dammaged mine is not as damaged and as we have been led to believe, as if he has a secret intelligence hidden in his subconscious that forms the voice of George which he appears to hallucinate. I find it easier to believe that George actually does speak to him from beyond the grave. Also George sees things happening or sees people coming from physically outside the possible range for Blaze to to perceive, and this type of event calls for supernatural explanation. When someone says, after finishing the novel, that there's no supernatural element, they are not being very perceptive and they are mischaracterizing what they have read. I think the subtlety of this evidence, that the voice and appearance of the deceased George, is in fact something beyond beyond what can be explained by buy hallucination or related ideas adds an extra extra touch or dimension to to the novel
This sounds like a good one. Currently I am enjoying the Mr. Mercedes trilogy. Why Brian? Why on earth would you speed up the story? Everyone on earth is at 33RPM and you are at least 45RPM maybe 60. Slow down and join us :)
I'm looking forward to the edited version of this video. It'll be quite the patchwork.

Thanks Brian good review.
Blaze is one of those that I remember enjoying at the time, but I can't really remember it. Perhaps that means it's time for me to revisit it!
