The reason why people are asking for a walkthrough is not because of the fights or the difficulty of the game, but because of all of the secrets and hidden things that you can miss. Sure there are people doing videos on these things, but no one does it quite like you Cowboy. It’s why we watch you and enjoy your content.
In the original story, Jinchi encountered and befriended the black bear demon somehow in his youth. He frequently read Buddhist hymns for the bear, and it's heavily implied that the bear passed some of his magic and alchemy to the old man to let him live a long life. When Sanzang and Wukong stopped by the temple on their way to west, Jinchi, being a kasata collector, was enticed by the jeweled kasaya of Sanzang. Blinded by greed, as well as supported by his two disciples, Guangzhi + Guangmou, he attempted to kill the two by setting their bedroom on fire in the evening. Wukong immediately realized Jinchi's treachery, so he zipped across the sky on his nimbus to the celestial court and borrowed an artifact, the fireproof mantle, and used it to shield his master's room. The artifact repelled all the flames and caused the entire temple to turn into a sea of blaze, while keeping Sangzang safe. As the fire raged, the black bear demon saw the temple from afar and flew in to help his friend. But upon seeing Sanzang's kasaya, he stole it and vanished. Next morning, pressed by Wukong to return the kasaya, burdened by enormous shame and guilt, Jinchi killed himself by ramming his head into a wall, ending his life. Wukong managed to defeat the black bear demon, with the help of Guanyin, retrieved the kasaya, and the two continued on their trek.
Thanks, I was able to figure out most of the story thanks to the enemy portraits the only thing I was really confused about was how the bear related to it, though i also thought the kasaya was the fire proof mantle too lol
@@legendaryseph9406 Sanzang's kasaya is immune to fire, as it was a sacred robe blessed by Guanyin and many Buddhist deities. But it does not directly prevent the wearer from being harmed by fire. When Wukong borrowed the mantle from the court, the court deity asked hey wait if you want to put out fire why not just ask the dragons to make some rain? Wukong said something like to hell with that, as long as my master is protected everything else can burn to ashes for all I care. When the mantle was placed around Sanzang's room, a gust of wind blew by and the mabtle repelled the fires around the bedroom into a massive inferno that engulfed the entire temple.
For those that don't know, when Guai does his annoying transform into a flying beehive move, you can freeze him out of it. Use your stun move and he falls on the ground.
The kasaya they keep mentioning is actually the flame immunity robe that you took after the elder jinchi fight. Kind of ironic that the robe also gives fire resistance considering the whole temple burning down thing. Also when will cowboy realize he's not playing Wu Kong but his descendant.
Actually NO, they are two different items. The kasaya was given to Sanzang when Guanyin enlisted him to take on the journey. The fire-proof shield/cape was borrowed by Wukong from one of the four Heavenly Kings to protect Sanzang when Jinchi wanted to burn the building they lived in. When the temple was burnt down, the Kasaya had already been stolen by the Bear. If wukong had taken back the Kasaya, they could simply leave overnight, without the need to borrow the fire-proof cape. So they cant be the same thing.
Fun fact If you cause enough damage with the Red Tide transformation and cause the bear to suffer scorch it'll directly go to phase 2 regardless of the health remaining in the health bar
I absolutely love this game but I made the mistake of trying to play it on remote play. The delay was just enough to make me fight the bear too many times and now I’m too enraged that I’ve been losing to such a clump boss.
Hey man. Don’t keep doing the heavy attacks when you transform to the fire wolf/fox guy. Do light attacks. Your might will last longer and you’ll be able to light your enemies on fire.
Loved the video. Note: you should craft the bronze set its great if your using immobilization skill dose way more damage and if you max it its god level equipment
Incredible that how you play this game, you get different items. You get Goat Skull there, and i got a Ginseng for the drink. Your Goat Skull is better, My Ginseng gives different stats. Not as good as yours. And you got way more Silk then me. When you made the whole set, i only have 4 Silk. I also went with the set you've gone. I'm skipping the other set. It's just a little bit stronger with worst skill on it.
@@quandaledingle5416 I just finished Chapter 2 and the spike in difficulty from Chapter 1 to 2 is quite significant. When I say difficulty, it's not just about combat and boss fight, but also the size of map, hiddenness of secret location and complexity of quests.
Hey CB. Can you explain what the "stacks up to 5x/10x means in this context? I get stacking buffs with gear/weapons but I'm not tracking the mechanic in this sense.
I've been watching different playthroughs, in bits and pieces, and there seems to be a boss around every corner. I want to get it so I try not to see too much so I just want to ask if this feels like a boss run or do you feel a sense of awe during your exploration, similar to what you feel in a soulsborne?
Bro, have you run into this issue when you try to use the immobilize on an enemy that it worked on once, it doesn't work? It consumes the use of the immobilize but doesn't actually work and it's gotten me into very sticky situations haha. I don't know if it's bugged or if there's a reason it just randomly doesn't work
Watching along with these vids, don’t have the game, and I thought Wukong was in that stone in top of the mountain from the beginning. The old monkey said that his body is there but his soul fled as relics, and while he’s too old to find them “you” can. Idk that’s what I thought.
Try doing a rebuild or defrag. TH-cam has videos on how to do it. I play in performance mode with zero issues so I don’t get why people keep saying this.
I’m sure you already figured it out but for anyone struggling using the “summons” just hold R2 then just hit L2. And you won’t be like our boy cb here spamming that shit 😂
Many have expressed the desire for longer videos but Cowboy is adamant on not making longer episodes of the games he play, I'm not sure why. If you want long videos, go watch MKIceAndFire episodes. He uploads 1-2 hours long videos and like 12 videos a day. Problem with him is that he skips some things, and if you like commentary then you ain't gonna find it there.
People saying half hour episodes are too short. There are television shows that are the same length. It’s the perfect length for me, not everything needs to be an hour long vid. If I wanted something that long I’d just listen to a podcast
Without block/parry combat seems so uninteresting to me. Just running around, avoiding and hitting like a "kitty". Graphics are amazing, enemy design is great, but combat... not good imo.

Yeah bro adding to that his deep gruff voice which makes me sometimes wanna beat the living shit out of him🔥
Like in the elden ring walkthrough where radan got nerfed. Felt it through the video when cowboy was explaining hahaha
He’s souls platinum walkthroughs are why I subscribed to the great man.
same. I already stumbled on a handfull of secrets as well as quests that seem to have multiple endings

As a Scot, i was not expecting a Scottish accent from the headless Chinese Bluegrass guy 😂

He does another move that's grey bees or mist and you can knock him out of that just with an attack.
Yup he'd do the smoke like 10 times a set, then do another. I'm like this is bs, then remembered try the ez mode thing.

Just woke up and watch the previous episode. Glad you uploaded right now❤
The intro to chapter 2 is the best shit ever.. my headless dude is blazing
I dont need a walkthrough but I always love watching how methodically you go through these games!
This is when the game really hooked me. I am invested. Plus headless monk is SO COOL! 19:09
The attack that killed you on your first run at Black Bear Guai he was spamming me with constantly and just constantly pissing me off!
that song was bangin'
@21:25 Chinese bluegrass just hits different. Different, but still pretty good
Fun fact
If you cause enough damage with the Red Tide transformation and cause the bear to suffer scorch it'll directly go to phase 2 regardless of the health remaining in the health bar
That little sage dude who has been teaching you all the spells will be a bad guy, I bet
Does come off as if he’s manipulating us into recovering the relics, or something like that.
This game is fcking awesome. I also just got to chapter 2, the headless guy is awesome haha
"Stamina is killing me...", neglects points in Stamina...
after the bear boss fight....if you go back to the save point before the bear area and check the store, you can buy a decent stamina curio

What a banging wee Number he knocked out there haha

Whoa what the hell was that at 24:15?? I clearly missed something, and here I thought I was exploring quite thoroughly! lol
Pick a relic for the bird, guessing you know that by now
The headless guy sounds like Connor Mcgreggor
Connor McGreggor isn't Scottish my friend he's Irish

The game seems far more forgiving than souls or ER. Enemy don't seem to have great tracking, often execute their combos into empty air.
Monkee just moves around faster than souls character
it gets harder each chapter lmao shit goes from cakewalk to hard real quick

Every time i laugh when streamer say "black bear guai", great game but would prefer black bear monster or demon

Cowboy you know that the protagonist isn’t the original Wukong right? Completely different monkey
My perception was it's Wukong but he's forgotten who he is and by acquiring the various relics he re-awakened to himself.

As much as we all want a walkthrough for this, i doubt itll happen because itll probably be a 100 episodes lol.

@@mac1bc nah just TONS of bosses man, I just got to chapter 3 and I bet Ive fought at least 35-40 bosses already.
As FC has said in previous videos, unless the game suddenly stops being so linear, there's no need for a walkthrough.

How the hell did you beat the sandstorm rat. Thing keeps punting me when im nowhere near it @electriceyeengraving6150

Black Bear Guai 🤣🤣🤣 Should be "Black Bear Demon" for the correct translation 🙊
Anyone heard any news on Xbox release? I’m seeing mixed things saying it may or may not be coming out still on Xbox..
This is more God of war than soulsborne. Still a cool game nevertheless
is there any skill for anything like parry in this game or is there parry at all or its all about dodge?
There's a spell in the game called "Rock Solid" that functions as a parry. That's about it.
Headless biwa player is good character
Can you start playing this let’s play in the Chinese dub?
That's BS that bear turned into a fucking cloud 4 times when I fought him and not even once did he turned in this fight hahahaha
😤🙌
How long is this game and is it the open world because i see tons of bosses and mini ones as well
Its linear (thank god) and there's like bosses every 3 minutes
The fact that you beat him on your second try is disgusting
This episode answered my droplet shape question. They are how many focus points you have at a time
After upgrading the skill tree you get more.
Something about this game just doesn’t get my juices flowing like souls games do.
