The best summary I have seen. I like that you point out where you can buy fuel & supplies and the cost in remote areas. I also like that you mentioned permits that are required and the cost. Informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work.
Hey guys, just watched this episode and it provided us with some great insight to the Gibb. We hope to tackle it next year, so thank you for this episode.
Agree with all your comments. It’s a spectacular place, so many gorgeous gorges 🤣 we couldn’t pick a favourite. Glad we didn’t do the Kalumburu road, you’re braver and than us. Good that you my mentioned the grubs on the road, far too many paper streamers blowing around. It’s not hard to dig a hole. Keep up the great videos. Safe travels, and good luck with the repairs. 👍
thanks for the episodes , we have tried twice to do the GRR, but your info has answered all our “what if”. you are spot on with the awning, they take a lot of punishment and still stand up to it. keep producing your vids. cheers
Hey . Thanks for pulling us out of Yardie Creek WA ! We blew a hose on the Gibb returning from Tunnell Creek NP ! You're out of my will replaced by Andrew from Round The Bend Plumbing at Kempsy NSW. 40klm all up for our lap. Epic trip of a lifetime.....
I have wanted to do this route but was concerned about towing my van, your video has shown that it can be done , really appreciate all the added extra's that you both included. Also i never once had to scroll forward once, you had my full attention from start to finish , awesome !
Hi Bianca & Grant What an excellent summary of your travels - great places , honest notes and sensible planning for those who wish to follow on behind you 👍- hopefully all works out with the driveline on front wheel too - not too a expensive repair 🤪 Look forward to your next venture trail Highest regards Raymond & Diane
Hi Grant - hopefully they return the truck back to great working order👍 at a reasonable price Also, get the mechanic to review the left hub too 🤔 first any issues while on the hoist
On a trip to Cape York last year screw tops on bottles unscrewed when the bottles were upright but din’t happen when the bottles were on their sides. Why - dunno.
Great recap of a great adventure. Couple of questions - would you do it again? And what do you think about the possibility of it becoming bitumen all the way? Would that ruin the adventure? 😊
We will do again sometime as we didn’t/couldn’t see everything and also didn’t get to do enough fishing. I think unfortunately sealing the road is inevitable and it’s a shame. Making beautiful, almost untouched places more accessible to the masses ultimately invites their demise, not always but I’d hate to see that happen up there!
Hi Grant & Bianca, My wife and I did the Gibb back in about 2016. I suspect we were the first vehicle through that season, some destinations hadn't opened so will have to go back. In some places we were ahead of the grader, just two tracks in places. But being first through we found that it was actually a fairly easy run. Mind you, we were only towing a Camper Trailer at the time. We are now driving a Ftwofiddy that I am still fitting out so I have been watching what you have fitted since you picked up you F Truck. A quick question; what wheels and tyres are you running on your truck? I see you commented on the truck's ability in 2WD. Do you have any comment on the wheels and tyres you are currently running? Graham & Del
The tires are Toyo Open Country 35x12.5R17LT Not bad considering I didn’t do any research before buying them! And considering what I’ve put the through. Not cheap though The rims are method race 17’ all black They are great, see to be holding up nicely! They are designed for the big yank tanks and are big in the US We did have an issue with the centre cap, it won’t come off without taking the wheel off the truck. So I couldn’t access the locking hubs when my auto hub system failed. They are a bit hard to clean! But otherwise pretty happy with it all
the more people that do the poxy Gibb River Road the less people I’ll see at my spots, what a poo paper Victorian tourist infested dump that track is, 🤮
@@Livin_Like_Kings_ I didn’t watch it but I am a fan of you guys, love your adventures just not the Gibb, it’s such a shame it’s become like Fraser Island, we head off through the Kimberley soon and back down into the goldfields.
Couldn't agree more mate that's why they call Victorians..... Mexicans.... because they run for the borders, need to charge Eastern Staters heaps to come here like a grand at our borders. We are Over!!! them trashing our beautiful state.
