He has 5 guns that rotate and change his 1 ability and ult, pretty simple. You don't need to get in depth with newer players or you'll information overload them with things that they probably don't understand or don't need to know at the moment.
@@toast072Every other character in the game has access to all their abilities at all time once leveled, even characters with extra abilities like Jayce and Nidalee. So yes aphelios is crazy hard to understand for a new player because abilities seem to just come out randomly instead of thinking "okay, that was ezreal q. It seems like it's on a low cooldown because he can do it a lot." So the relationship between your character and aphelios is broken in a way that is not the case for every other champ
2:31 I feel like ranked anxiety stems from our insecurity. As gamers we put a lot of our self-worth into our gaming skills and what better way to reflect our skills than our competitive ranks, that's how we get rank anxiety because when we lose LP it indirectly decreases our self-worth. I mean, at least that's how I felt about it, and once I realized that literally no one cares about what my league rank is, I stopped feeling anxious whether I'll lose or won my next game.
For me it was feeling like I needed “optimal conditions” otherwise I could lose “unfairly.” Like I felt I had to queue up at the right times, only with my duos (who had to be equal or higher in rank than me to be “worthy”), only if I was home alone to reduce risk of ping spikes, and so on and so on. I would make up all these conditions that added so much unnecessary pressure. Then I moved to South Korea and made an account to play with my host brothers, and none of it mattered lol my younger host brother was SO good but they would still go to the PC-bang to play with me and my fresh account. Haven’t had a worry about my rank since 🤷🏽♀️
I dont know how sneaky and meteos fail to comprehend how aphelios is complicated for new players. I guess I can understand it’s hard for them to relate but they can at least read every comment and twitch chatter saying this champ is hard to learn. It’s just cause he’s different. I think if he was the first champ I ever learned I wouldn’t find him difficult but because abilities being baked into qwer are so engrained in my head. Anything different breaks me
I think DL was taking the perspective of a new player trying to *play* Aphelios, while Meteos and Sneaky for some reason took the perspective of a new player playing *against* Aphelios 🤷🏽♀️ either way still seems very detached from the average player experience
They could make Thresh lantern ground/ silence enemies like a Singed puddle. So he could use it offensively or defensively. The lantern is the cage for their soul so you could make it more like a Morde últ circle or an Illoa e type of you wanted it to be more lore based
I remember when Faker went on a crazy loss streak in the beginning of Season 14 and I was like, BRO HES SUB 50% WIN RATE GODS DO BLEED and then I queued up for ranked right after and lost
10:10 a Thresh lantern rework could be cool. Riffing off what Meteos said, and leaning into current counters to lantern where enemies can block passage by standing on it, maybe it can have a cast time where, after X seconds it will trap enemy souls (rooting them) or give passage to ally champions (as it currently works now), but if both enemy and ally champions occupy the lantern after the X second cast time, the lantern is neutralized (or maybe even a brief mini Kindred ult until their souls are “released” from the lantern). So it becomes like a bluffing game (kinda like Ryze ult). Enemies can flash/dash into the lantern to block passage, ally champions can flash/dash out of the lantern at the last second, giving up passage and instead trapping enemy souls. Could add some cool interactions too with hook and flay.
If new player plays Aphelios for the first time, it would feel easy as the champion only has 3 skills, and you level up his stats rather than skills. Aphelios only felt complicated at first because he is not designed similarly to traditional ADC's made years before him
at this point, watching these is like watching a movie with friends who are just talking the whole time instead of watching the movie. i hope DIG flames out and spica loses a roster spot so doublelift will go back to costreaming with him.
@@botbadger nah i've watched since the beginning and my favorite cast is the lck english cast, who go off on side tangents way more often. but they still immediately come back to the game when something happens. that doesn't happen here anymore.
"attention seeking syndrome, also known as colorblindness..." meteos is so fking funny man
He was reading his twitch chat
But you're right, he genuinely is
Sneaky is so hot and cool, Meteos is so funny and knowledgeable, Doiblift
No way were acting like aphelios isnt that complicated, gaslighting doublelift is insane

@@toast072 Mfw when I say a champ is easy because I describe him as easy because fully explaining it would make it not easy.
I think it’s pretty valid to say the ceiling of complexity is extremely high especially for an ADC champ

It's like a version of nidalee in a way. After a few hundred games aphelios is probably afk
13:13 you know meteos calling Sneaky Zak has to mean he's pissed aha
Was so funny
very rare occasion
10:18 they gotta just rework thresh passive into something more useful
