- Oh, hello there friends! Happy Friday and welcome to a very dreamy, cozy, and magical cottagecore inspired spring day! I go to the garden center to get some flowers for pressing, I spend hours out in the wild with my very own Jane Austen/Anne of Green Gables style picnic, cook hearty foods, and then finish of the perfect day with a relaxing bath and watch Sense and Sensibility! I am so so very proud of this video and think it is one of my favorites I have ever filmed/edited and I sure hope you enjoy too! Definitely grab a cozy blanket and your favorite cuppa and enjoy! I've just discovered your channel. How lovely it and you are. You mentioned your favorites, among them Eleanor Dashwood, I like her, but found her little sister Margaret to be totally charming. I have seen her in some recent rolls, my she has grown up. I look forward to more of your lovely videos. It's May 5 here (my late fathers' birthday), in NW Michigan, and we are just now seeing signs of spring. One must be patient, but it's worth it. Thank you for sharing.
I enjoy watching your videos quite a lot! I am working a lot these days and sometimes it can be tough to calm down and take care of myself since I could get easily lost in trying to catch up with all my responsibilities. My dear friend, what a wonderful spot you‘ve got yourself there in the woods! It is like out of a wonderful whimsical story and you are the heroine and cedar is your funny and dashing side-kick (sigh!) 💛✨ We had a hard week after losing our own dog due to sudden illness, so yesterday evening took a long walk on top of the moors behind the village to clear our minds and guess what, found a similar perfect spot. A lovely deep pool of dark, peaty water with some stones too step in from - I had a very icy dip!! If you had a warm and sunny Jane Austen moment there, I felt more like in cold and misty Outlander .. but hey, definitely lifted the spirits 😅 I will definitely be back with some blankets and a book when it gets a bit warmer! You are a huge inspiration 🥰 Also spotted Robert MacFarlane‘s Lost Words in this videos, wonderful! It is one of my most treasured books ☺️

Hi Randi. I’ve just realised this is the second video I’ve watched of yours. I’d forgotten about the first one til you said (or I read) your dog’s name - Cedar. My oldest daughter and her family had a gorgeous dog with the same name. Your whole video is perfect… The filming, timing, visuals, divine music, content, mood, all perfect. I can’t imagine seeing all those animals and birds and wildflowers and moss, out in nature! I live in sub tropical Qld, Australia, and the flora and fauna is very different! Yours seems so exotic. Oh hello, friend, what a beautiful video! I am pretty much obsessed with all things cottagecore, long before I had ever heard of the word. Your soup looks familiar to a recipe I make. I'm actually making soup today too. Spring is not as lovely here as it seems to be where you live. It is very, very windy here today, and it's just not a nice day so I'm staying indoors.

I absolutely agree with you about romanticizing your life and I'm trying to do that more. I'm finding it difficult though, because I (unfortunately) tend to feel I'm not worth it. And that's exactly why I should keep trying... I love Jane Austen! Have you watched the BBC series of Sense and Sensibility? I love that version too, especially the music (and Dan Stevens). 🧡
Even if it is in small ways, it can add so much magic and joy to life!!! You are most definitely WORTH IT! And totally agree you should keep trying if you can! One small way I like to add a little whimsy is listening to my favorite movie scores or instrumental soundtracks!

Hi Randi, it looks like you have poison hemlock surrounding your blanket under the tree. This plant is only poisonous if you ingest it, but it could irritate your skin, so please be careful! Poison hemlock has those beautiful leaves that look similar to the leaves of carrots, and it has purple coloration on the stems. Your video is so sweet otherwise!

Randi we are kindred spirits as I absolutely love Jane Austen, Tolkein, Anne of Green Gables, and especially love Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant. I have not watched it for some time so need to bring out my dvd and re-watch it. I enjoyed seeing you make those yummy biscuits and that delicious veggie soup. I really love your attention to detail in this video and being out in nature is the best. The dress you were wearing was lovely. I really like the beautiful white tea mug and cute mushroom soup bowl. Where did you find them? That bath bomb that looks like a book looks wonderful too. We were so lucky to have some really beautiful days here in Portland.
