As an Iranian living in Iran ,a native Farsi speaker , I can’t even explain it to others , yes it has grammar but you never follow the rules while speaking every day :))) it has really weird things… but I’m always proud when I read Farsi poems and I’m glad to have the chance to understand it and enjoy it better that anyone who’s not a native , or is not fluent in Farsi. I Understand your struggle and proud of you trying to learn it, don’t give up❤️تو موفق میشی

@parisajovaini OK then You're a an ethnic Persian meaning that you have inherited the Persian language from your ancestors , but we have ethnic minorities who have other languages as their mother toungue ,and usually most Persian language scholars are of non-Persian ethnicities , do you know why ? It's easier for non-natives to learn the correct grammar and structure of a language than someone who has already absorbed the slang language as a native by the family & environment .

I am Bengali-American, and cannot bring myself to learn Farsi or Arabic. But, I have been dabbling in Hindi-Urdu, which adopted some Farsi words back during Mughal rule, and Farsi is undeniably a beautiful and elegant language. Farsi words are usually distinguishable from Indian words, and majority of the Farsi words I come across, I am in awe of how elegant they are. Good luck learning Farsi, I hope the language as a whole sounds as elegant as standalone words do.

I'm a second generation Iranian American and we exclusively speak in Persian at home. Even then my parents sent me to Sunday school in order to learn the grammar. I'd consider myself fluent but there is a noticeable accent which is glaringly obvious to the natives when I visit Iran.

I now really want to learn it to avoid the constant awkward conversations with my iranian family on the phone where I'm just speaking broken farsi that my dad is telling me. I was just looking for farsi videos and this one popped up! I wish you the bets of luck in your language learning!

Lucky me moved from Iran when I was 10 so I can speak (P)arsi, Luri and read. Writing is a bit hard, and my reading is same level as a 10 year old. I never wanted to take extra classes in school, didn’t care about the extra credit. For me it’s enough that I can speak my mother tongue. I don’t like reading/writing because well the muslim conquest is not something I’m a fan of, I don’t want to learn to read and write in arabic letters, and I think eventually Iran will get rid of it the same way they will get rid of the now ruling shitty stone age state.

I am also a native Farsi speaker. To my eys it is a very difficult language to lear for english speakers due to the writing system. In addition to the letter we have multiple vowels and mutliple instance of some of the letter . Like we have 3 s (س / ص / ث) and so on. But it's even harder to live in iran because the slag language in my opinion is kind of diffrent from the grammatical form.
I recommand anyone who want to learn farsi to use methods like TPRS and comprehensible input.

I would love Duolingo Farsi. People are critical of Duolingo because it’s too basic, but for me, a British Armenian whose mother was born in Tehran, all I want is an introduction in to the world that my mother grew up in. A basic grasp of the language and fundamental vocabulary. Anyway, mamnoon!

Thank you for sharing! Yes we need apps with farsi language! I’m half Persian and trying to learn farsi. I was enrolled in a language learning school that was pretty expensive, and was only two months long even though it was a fun experience I felt like I could’ve just learned the same thing on TH-cam university. Currently I was gifted Rosetta Stone Farsi lessons. I’m going to try that, but in the meantime, what has helped me it’s just repetition of watching the 500 most common Farsi words on TH-cam.
How do we buy the book that you showed in your video?

I know you're probably not qualified to teach since you're learning yourself but I find for myself that when studying for school, the best way for me to make sure I know and remember something, is teaching it to other people. If you ever wanted to do vlogs or videos going over what you learned in your lessons that day, I think that would be super interesting. If you had questions, I'm sure you have some subscribers who speak Farsi who could help you as well. I think it's so cool that you and your partner are learning a language. I know I've taken languages my whole life in terms of classes at schools and never really was that good at it. It's nice to hear that your least favorite method you're using is the class because it makes me feel like maybe I'm not terrible at learning languages, just that the way I was learning wasn't the best for me

You're a courageous girl to start learning Farsi, it's a tough nut to crack, specially from the American point of view,
If you can find a native Iranian who immigrated to US(for work or study) would be the best idea possible, you can teach him/her how to speak English, he/she can teach you Farsi in everyday life like natives...
Best to give and take at the same time, so both can benefit, you scratch my back , I scratch yours(I hope I said it right),
l live in Iran and I love US, just love it, and mostly I leaned English by some classes as a teenager years ago(at some point I couldn't afford classes so I quit), after that You tube videos, American Sitcoms, Movies, podcasts, Audiobooks, practically anything I could get my hands on, they become my learning contents....
people say teach me English, I answer them: I can't, I don't know how to teach, I just watch stuff hoping to understand and familiarize myself with the contents of English every single day of my life for the last decade....

Urdu is actually Hindi with some Farsi words added, and some Hindi words had their form changed to conform with the Arabic script. For examples, "janma" became "janam", "andra" became "andar", "dharma" became "dharam", and so on.

So far I‘ve only had one of my relatives explain the basics to me and now I‘m trying to read persian on social media and stuff and it‘s easier when you already know words from speaking.. Anyways I hope we both succeed with this beautiful language☺️☺️❤️
