This was definitely an Intermediate level install. Let me know if you are planning to install this, or if you've done this install, leave any tips I missed for others that are planning to install this. So car, I love the unit. No issues so far. Review video coming soon!

Can you pair the Lexions BT to the OEM's BT? Would this work around allow you to use the OEM bluetooth while inside the lexion (car play, google maps, etc.)?
No lag, super smooth for the most part. Doesn’t feel like those cheap tablets. I’ve been meaning to make a review video just haven’t had time, planning to record this weekend. What would you like to see in the video?
Yes, had that issue. Realized that You don’t use the bracket that was on the OEM, take that off and just push the new screen in as is. Careful not to push too hard, it’s an lcd touchscreen
hows the audio? i would get it if it automatically connects to the oem bluetooth when i turn the car on. i hate the idea of having to switch from the lexion bluetooth to oem to have better quality
I’m somewhat of an audiophile so I can tell the difference, it’s not bad, I would equate it to the sound from Sirius XM, the bass sounds slightly flatter, the highs are fine, mid is a bit muddy. Not super noticeable but if you have an ear for sound, then you can tell. It’s not static or buzzing, so dont have to worry about that. You can connect to both the oem and the Lexion at the same time, I just don’t know how it would work with music playing through OEM and CarPlay/android auto connected to the Lexion. I can test it out tomorrow for you.
So i tried to use the OEM audio, here’s what I found out: You CAN connect the audio to the OEM unit, and the CarPlay/android auto both show up on the Lexion, HOWEVER, the audio on the Lexion stops working. It took me a while to figure out how the connections are actually working. Since it’s using WiFi, I figured the sound would go through WiFi, but it’s routing through Bluetooth, but some reason when you’re connected to audio on the OEM unit, the Lexion unit doesn’t output sound(navigation, Spotify, etc.) I hope that helps?
Sorry I had to make an edit. The audio for the Lexion is routing through AUX on the main OEM unit, so you can have either the OEM Bluetooth or the Aux for Lexion audio
Hi Bro, I have got exact system as your and i am having some issues with it, First is when i put my car in revers, it goes to original map first and then shows back camera but it doesn't happens all the times. Secondly, My head unit takes voice commands but then it just stops working after ten to 15 minutes, when i try to connect to my head unit wirelessly it won't connect to my android phone. Google setting is on voice assistance. Could you please assist. Thanks @blacksnow90
I did not use the extra speaker. Not entirely sure what it’s used for tbh. I did use the gps, so the native android apps can use location, I figured that would come in handy with apps in the future. If you’re hooking it up, you could run it up the side and by the windshield lower left or upper left where they put oil change reminder stickers. If the wire is long enough, behind the rear view mirror?
What situation or reason would you need to use the GPS antenna? And also does microphone included work on Apple CarPlay? You said it doesn’t work on the OEM Lexus software mode and works on the Android OEM mode.
The unit is Android with an App Store so for me, I downloaded google maps on to the unit and within the app I downloaded offline maps. If my phone dies or I don’t have it, I can use the built in Android Unit Google Maps App to navigate. Maybe other Apps that require location could also use it. I actually didn’t install the Microphone piece. I’m not entirely sure how the mic interfaces with the unit because whenever I call, it connects to my OEM Bluetooth and works fine. I guess if you have an app running on the unit(not car play or your phones android auto) than it would need the microphone for speech input.
Maps are in 2 places. Are you talking about the car play/android auto maps? Or the one that’s built into the unit without needing a phone/internet? AA/CP auto update as long as your phones apps are updated. The offline maps, you’ll need to connect the unit to a WiFi network, and the Google Play store will update the maps app automatically. You’ll want to download offline maps so it can load if you don’t have your phone/internet while driving(this very rarely happens but I guess you might have a use for offline maps) Go in the new screens WiFi settings and connect to your mobile hotspot, or WiFi if it reaches to the car. Open up google maps app, click the menu option in the top right(or left, they recently moved it), click offline maps, select the area you want to download maps for, and save.

is there any delay? can you show a video of the latency scrolling through carplay or android auto?

I can't seem to get the new screen sitting far back enough in the housing to bolt it down. Did you have any trouble squeezing it in?

Where did you end up putting that external speaker? Or did you not use it?

@@blacksnow90 where did you mount the GPS? Underneath the center console? Is there an external mic or does it just use the built in Lexus mic?
