New sub here. This series comparing sonlight and mfw is fantastic. I want to try it but not sure how that would work with multiple ages. We have 5 kids ages 3 to 12. Wondering if I’d have to teach several levels at once. Sounds like a lot then. I also have a channel mainly about homeschooling right now. It would be fun to be friends and connect here. Looking forward to watching more of your content.
I did not think choosing a curriculum would be so overwhelming...lol! We plan on homeschooling next year for first grade and I’m confused. Your reviews have been helpful!
We're supposed to be doing CTG this year. I stopped following the IG and just read the books we wanted to. It's not our thing. I'll sell it and just keep a few of the books. I'm not saving it for my younger kids to cycle through again. There was just too much that we didn't like. For the Jewish festivals we just went to chabad.org and watched a lot of videos there. We have watched a lot of history videos, too. I let my younger kids use Sonlight B and separate Sonlight Language Arts for reading, and my 7th grader is using books from Sonlight G and J. I used LitCharts for literature study guides, and some other stuff that I feel like are not really literature studies, but rather "comprehension checkers" that I see more as busywork. Some people seem to just love CTG, but for us it is a dud even though some of the books are good. It's such a contrast from how we enjoyed the US history years!
@@highenergyhomeschool5158 thanks! We are not American so the heavy emphasis on American history won't fit for us. We have really enjoyed Exploring Countries and Cultures but trying to de use where to go from here. I've looked into Sonlight but never taken the plunge. We've also enjoyed lots of material from Susan Wise Bauer and Ambleside Online. We'll see where we land next!

Which MFW readers were dry for y’all?

This is great! Have you done Creation to the Greeks from MFW? And if so, what did you combine it with? Thanks!
