Our infinite creator taken matter and being born into matter to save us. That he king and one with the holy trinity that manifested to our father Abraham as the three angels he bowed too and served. I believe in that holy trinity as our one perfect god Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I agree with you with our true enemy being turning away from god but let’s us fully devote ourselves to god for he is in control and restores us.

Read it in context, the commandment was set by god to the Israelites not falling to worship false Idols, worshiping false idols thinking it's god and it should be worshiped and put down a sacrifice asking the idols for something, do orthodox church worship god or images ? Of course the answer is god ,, so what are icons ? Icons are events from the bible pictured to imagine it how it's all happened no worshiping for icons as God,, do you know that the Jewish temple which god instruct Solomon how to build had cherubim pictures in it ,, did you ever see the ark of the covenant 2 cherubim angels on the top of it ?
If god instruct Solomon with this, do you think God will mind Icons of his sacred people or his beloved mary or his ark angles ??
Or his beloved son ,, he himself took an image in Jesus Christ, he is the everlasting Icon for the living God, this is not graven images
Just like the cross it's symbols used by god that's why it is sacred
