While listening through I somehow managed to skip 2 of the tracks on the album. My apologies! Though my thoughts on those tracks after hearing them afterwards is still in line with what I say throughout. What should I check out next?!
B-Front & Phuture Noize: The Enlightenment @ Reverze 2024 If you're not a fan of Rawstyle, this might be for you. This is the "anti-thesis" of the trending rawstyle genre in hardstyle. A very unique euphoric experience, i might say. Please check that one out.
i am absolutely like u in the beginning of hardstyle.. headache feel like its a terrorist music for some reason .. but once u give a chance to let the music sink it in you.. you will all in it.. trust me i already there
Ran-D is a hardstyle staple, start with Hurricane. Emotional, very melodic and relatively easy. And my personal pick would be Rejecta because I like the prominent kicks.
U should react to "The Endshow | Defqon.1 Weekend Festival 2023"! Defqon is the biggest Harderstyles festival on earth and I know u will love the last song it's full of emotions😊
As someone who absolutely loves this album since it's release it is so interesting to me to see someone checking it out who is not deep into Hardstyle at all! 🙏
It also very interesting to me that listening to this album is exhausting to you, because it has the exact opposite effect on me! Great listening reaction, I enjoyed it a lot!
Congratulation on listening to the full album. It's not easy to get out of your way to listen to something that you usually don't really jam to. That was mostly Rawstyle, not hardstyle per say. It's like trench to dubstep, different subgenre. And you are correct, rawstyle is all about energy and big kicks, loud noises and "BIG" fun during festivals. Nowadays this particular genre is filled with kickrolls, many different kicks in one drop and D-sturb is king of utilizing them. Reddit, groups and other "hardstyle" communities are torn between liking it and hating it so you are not alone there. I personally love it, it has everything I ever wanted and I can assure you, his sets are just 45 min of pure insanity. It's something that I believe you have to experience on site to fully get why people listen to this music. I can highly recommend Sub Zero Project, I believe they are the one of the big dogs in the genre. Their "Renaissance Of Rave" album is acclaimed by some to be one of the best albums in recent years. Thank you for checking D-sturb out even if you didn't really end up liking their music that much. Much appreciated and I can't wait for another video. Cheers!
D-sturb is a RAWstyle artist, which is a subpart of hardstyle thats more focussed on kicks than on melody. If you want to check out a more melodic artists, watch D-Block & S-Te-Fan or Phuture Noize. Hardcore is similar to hardstyle, but has a bit faster BPM. Most real hardcore artistsput less focus on kicks and often lots of melody. Angerfist is one of the goats of hardcore. His album diabolic dice kight be very interesting. (It will also lower hardstyle a bit on youre energetic music spectrum ;)) Also, speaking about perfect energetic music for a festival, check out the defqon endshow 2022 or 2023. the fireworks, energy and lightshow is unmatched in this world
Hardstyle, and hard dance in general has always felt like much more of a seperate thing from the other edm genres, then most. While most modern edm genres strive to be at least somewhat casual-listening friendly... Hardstyle has gone the opposite direction. It wants all of your attention, being ignorable and casual is its enemy. Pushing the limits of how much adrenaline & emotion you can put in to a single track is the goal. Not trying to appeal to a wide audience. The kicks do get far less jarring after a while. Its just a wildly different way of utilising them as compared to most genres. Thats why they stand out so much, and feel so dominant. But after a while, they start feeling more like the core structure that the rest of the track is built around. Like others have said though, this is far from the most newbie friendly artist to listen too, and do know that not all hardstyle is as "kicks forward" as this. A good highlight classic track that is more focussed around the melody: Wasted penguinz - melancholia
true^^ I always give full into the music when listening to harddance tracks. DnB is the same for me though this genre is still a lot more accasible to casuals than harddance but it's just fun to fully focus on the music and just have fun. It gives me so much energy and moving to the rythm is just joy!
D-Sturb is definitely one of my favorite artist!! Vertile is also another good Hardstyle artist. Idk if i got dropped on my head but i listen and produce Hardstyle 24/7 lol
My journey with hardstyle started in 2010. I got into it because of the melodies and energy, and the kicks were something I felt like I had to tolerate, and back then the kicks werent even that hard. But now I love it all, the melodies and the kicks! The sound design is really interesting to me. But I got to admit that not every kick in modern tracks are doing it for me. You should check out "euphoric hardstyle", melodies for days!
as someone who listens to hardstyle everyday and knows nearly every single artist imma have to say Sub Zero Project is my favourite and most likely the best to start you hardstyle jorney. Rebelion is also very very good. I would recommend nearly every song of their renaissance of rave album
Some really good songs: Refuzion - Back In Time Crystal Lake - Galactic Fantastic, High Noisecontrollers - Down Down D-Charged - Lose Yourself Luca Testa ft. Reptile Room - No One Else Showtek - Real One You should definitely react to them :D
Wow he went straight for the rawstyle 😂 its much harder then just regular hardstyle and its much more focused on just kicks and fakedrops, bassheavy drops, less melody, try out euphoric hardstyle first, like atmozfears, refuzion, phuture noize thats a bit easier on the ears, much love though ❤❤
23:06 lol that's actually spot on. Seriously though respect for trying out something different. Overall the album was fine, but D-Strub can be a bit much if you are new to the genre. If you enjoy the melodies more I would recommend artists like Refuzion, Da Tweekaz, or Brennan Heart to name a few. Personally I love the vibe and energy hard dance music gives off. Watching the Defqon.1 Endshows and their Power Hour sets is what really sold me on the genre. As for a non Hardstyle recommendation, I have Bishu's album 'microcelebrity' on my radar.
Da Tweekaz brought me into the genre and I still love them to this day but I also started going into the way harder sides of the scene but Euphoric never dies for me
i am absolutely like u in the beginning of hardstyle.. headache feel like its a terrorist music for some reason .. but once u give a chance to let the music sink it in you.. you will all in it.. trust me i already there
dsturb is a mix between melodic and raw, raw hardstyle has less melodic drops (sometimes there will be a melodic "climax" drop at the end of the track). one of the main focuses in raw is weird kicks and making the kicks as hard as possible, usually raw also has a darker/kind of sinister vibe.
Just found your channel and this video! Fun to see "non-listener" of hardstyle but still finds it fun to listen, to also review it! I used to be a dubstep, drum & bass kid growing up to UKF Dubstep being the hub for my music back in 2009-2011. But the older I grow, the more my music turned into hardstyle. Looking at everything that Q-Dance had back then, finding Defqon 1, Qlimax, Q-Base videos made me dream about going on a "real-deal" festival. Back in 2015-16 New Years Eve I went to Amsterdam with my bestfriend and enjoyed a festival called "Freaqshow" that Q-Dance held in Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam. It was a life-changing experience and ever since I havent looked back in the mirror to change ever. It saved my life. So I can REALLY recommend you to to a review/react of either Freaqshow 2015-2017 Top 10 or Qountdown Top 20 by Q-Dance. You will find their videos here on youtube, its awesome! :D
7 months late probably, but just found your channel and I enjiy the content. My favorite harder styles dj is Mutilator and his current favorite song of mine is his new release Clowns
This is a very tough listen if you are not enjoying hardstyle. What was already suggested in the comments probably you would get into some of the older stuff, pre 2017 or just artists making rather melow form of hardstyle (eg. Phuture Noize, but even he has some hard stuff). I also feel like there is a bigger and bigger disconect in the tracks recently, uplifting start and hard kicks at a drop. That being said I think you should check out some of the darker (or very dark actually) tracks from eg. Repeller, Mortis, Kruelty. Most likely unlistenable if you are not into the style or dark music in general but the kick are very consistant with the atmosphere of the tracks. One last suggestion not neceserly for the video, since it is very underground but deffinetly worth checking out: Embryonic - You Left a Hole A lot of variety throughout the whole album. It is hard to clasify it to one genere, I'd call it jest harder EDM, elements of Techno, Hardcore, Hardstyle etc. You won't be disappointed :) Have a good one
You have 2 different genres in those kind of tracks Last one is more in the Hardcore part even tho its not really like Hardcore You have Hardstyle which is more melodic And you have Rawstyle which is a more darker version In Hardstyle the best djs in my opinion are Da Tweekaz, D-Sturb, Coone, Hard Driver, etc... In Rawstyle its mostly the artists of Gearbox Digital And also Aversion, Mutilator, Adjuzt and The Purge
As a hard dance die hard fan, I would like to thank you for giving it a shot, and showing respect when giving your critique! Just some friendly info on what you just heard. D-sturb is raw style, even more specifically, raw-phoric, because he combines raw style kicks with euphoric melodies, which give it that euphoric uplifting happy vibe at times. This is a completely different sub genre in the hard dance realm. Calling this hardstyle, is like calling Nickleback, metal, just to put it in comparison. Rawstyle as you can tell is all about stuffing different style heavy kicks into a drop, making a kick salad if you will lol. Hardstyle usually just uses 1 single repetitive kick, in the drop, or maybe just slightly different variations of that 1 kick, but for the most part it's pretty repetitive when it comes to the type of kick being used in the drop.
My favorite hardstyle act is by far Rejecta. Its very raw and hectic but it has so much drive and energy with great melody's. But for you i would recommend artists like Da Tweekaz, D-Block & S-te-fan and Sound Rush. Those are more melodic artists while also incoperating some harder kicks
D-sturb isn't the best artist to start with hardstyle, i recommend the enlightenment by Phuture noize and B-front for more songwriting and feels. Quantum leap by Ecstatic for pure melodic goodness.
Love the fact that you're stepping out of your comfort zone. I'd recommend listening to the classic 2018 Delete album Alpha Omega. It's on the harder side, but the tracks themselves are also darker and not nearly as poppy, so there's not as big of a juxtaposition. Delete was one of the most forward-thinking, innovative producers in the scene. Sadly, we lost him about two years ago. He paved the way for many artists today and his songs are still being played and sound as fresh as ever. RIP 🕊️ Also, I get your perspective, when I first discovered this music I also wanted to listen to the nice melodic stuff but you quickly build up a tolerance and at some point only the hardest kicks will satisfy you. I DJ and produce this music myself and I can listen to it for 10 hours straight no problem but I also enjoy even harder stuff like industrial hardcore 😅 Also "silly rhymes" YES, hardstyle has the worst lyrics out of any genre, you learn to ignore it haha
Wow starting with rawstyle first 😂! To be honest, at first, I started to like Hardstyle with good and euphoric melodies since that's how I discovered this genre. However, as time goes by, I kept watching festival aftermovies. That's how I discovered rawstyle and sooner or later, I became addicted to it since it's so diverse with producers having its own distinct kicks and kickrolls. I kept listening to rawstyle and I started to avoid plain hardstyle ever since then. 😂
I'd say Vertile is one of the best in the scene currently, he has a good variety of the normal hardstyle and really good rawstyle. He's very creative with his melodies and his own vocals are great. You should give some of his tunes a listen! I recommend "No Sleep", "Golden Hour", "We Ignite" and "Simulation"
I prefer more hardcore side of hard music but an AMAZING hardstyle track that has a long build up and great melody is Atmozfears - The Soul. You’d probably like that one
Ok Fav Hardstyle Artists. For Rawphoric its Da tweekaz and Thunderz(He is as far as i know not a live artist) for Rawstyle its Dual damage and Rayzen(Yeah i know Rayzen has mostly said their making Rawtempo but i would still consider it Rawstyle) nd greetings from Germany btw❤ loved your hard dance music reaction.
How to properly dance to hardstyle/rawstyle/uptempo etc... Imagine you're an orchestra conductor but instead of conducting an orchestra you're just punching the air in that motion xD

It’s cool to see that you are trying to listen to other genre but you just got on the wrong album, d sturb is talented but this album is really bad in my opinion, maybe try to listen to anderex, or the last album of phuture noize and b front is so much better than this trash lmao
@@DanielGamed i think d sturb could make much better, there are a lot of kicks, and that’s it, I just feel like this album is a compolation of summer hardstyle hit and no more, this album has no soul but Calling My Name and the collab with adjuzt are fine
@@lorisd1121 I get what you are saying. Nonetheless in my opinion “Through my veins” is the perfect hardstyle track with both hard hitting kicks (and some new ones from d-sturb) and a beautiful melody. For me this is the first album that I completely added to my playlist. I totally get that a track like “destiny” feels soulles but I think D-Sturb did a great job with this album. Almost every track has a banger melody and hard hitting kicks and that’s what I personally really like. But again that’s my opinion and it’s great that hardstyle has so many different sounds and artists, there is something for everyone :)

But again that’s my opinion and it’s great that hardstyle has so many different sounds and artists, there is something for everyone :)
this album is great bruh
he's not starter stuff tho
Only been listening Hard music for the last 18 years lol 🤣
