Tres Bien Ronaldo, I'm turning 60 this year. My 60th birthday will be spent on a windy beach in southern mexico where I can play with my hydrofoil and kite all day. I also still enjoy getting out the ripstick and skating with my daughter occasionally. Being able to continue doing these things motivates me to stay healthy and in good physical condition.
Yes… sometimes you can fall and roll and it’s all good. Sometimes the simple slam can get you off the board for days. As we say… skate tax, we all have to pay at some point. 👊
That’s awesome Andy… it won’t be long before your muscle memory kicks in again. It’s absolutely amazing to feel that wind again on your face. Enjoy it! 👊

I am 46 and still surfing/skating/snowboarding… I suppose most of the riders of my generation and younger will try to keep riding as long as possible. So in few years, if we keep good health 🤞, we might see more and more Francks…😉

I've been skating since 16 years old. I remember reading Transworld and Thrasher and seeing a photo of a 70 year old doing a frontside five-O in a big pool. I thought that was the coolest thing. I'm 51 now, still going strong and hope to make it to 70 and skating. I still take hard falls and push myself to keep my bones dense. I just give eye rolls to the 30 somethings that they skated but got too old to skate, then I tell them how old I am.

I love surfskating and windskating (with the windsurf sail on the board). Today I usually do it at Tempelhof airfield in Berlin. I learned windsurfing from a pensioner at the sea back then. Today I am a pensioner with 67 years and try to keep fit by skating.
Legend! I've been skateboarding since 1986 without a break in time and explored the disciplines, different boards, terrains, tricks. I just found surf skating. I'm stoked and this is fun. Never too old to shred. Very rad video. Like this man, I never expected to quit riding. I just can't get enough. Cheers!😎🌊

Wonderful video - thanks for sharing your story. I started at 10 years old and for many years it was my passion. We built a half pipe behind my house and would spend hours on it. After a long layoff, I am now 61 and back on the board the last few years. I get many looks at our skateparks, some laughing and others give me the thumbs up. Just having fun! Be safe out there.
I am 48.been addicted to the flow since I was 9yo.broke my leg in January and feel it's time to get back into the flow.a lot of people in my village think I'm reckless for wanting to sk8 again but they don't understand the feeling of a board under your feet.the subtle vibration of wheels on tarmac. The absolute freedom and joy of the Flow.
Oh man… injury sucks but unfortunately is part of the sport.I’m also 48 and I was off the board for 13 months due to a knee surgery. It was horrible but at the same time thought me a few lessons. First, how much I love skateboarding because I missed it everyday. Second, the positive effects is has on my overall mental health and third, trying to stay fit so that we can keep riding for longer. Welcome back… 👊
Sorry to hear… unfortunately the beginning is one of the hardest time as your body haven’t leaned how to bail yet not to mention the fact that you still learning the basics and that means falling more than usual. Keep going… but don’t push it too hard. It will come with time as you gain balance and muscle memory.
I am 56 and started surfskating one year ago. Wonderful feeling, and I hope I'll be skating forever. At my age, I can say that social incorrectness about something that doesn't limit other people's freedom does not exist. Envy does exist, though.
Hey man… that’s awesome. It’s never too late ✌️ sounds like you’re really hooked into it. Only people who rides really know how it feels. Glad you enjoyed the video!
That's impressive, I'm 63 and skateboarded up till I was that age. Not very frequently - but skating 1/2 pipes into my early 50's now and then, but in my forties I discovered cricket and have taken that very seriously and still play (Bowler). I visited a park when I was your age and skated around it - fine on the flat, but felt sketchy on the banks, aware that if I did wipe, my wrists and hands were potentially susceptible to being injured in the cricket season. On balance - cricket was far more important, so gave up then. I still had it I reckon, a few sessions and I'd have been skating banks and half pipes. The Jay Adams quote is a gem, but applicable to any activity/sport. I still surf - much less impact in the water if you fall! Hope you still enjoy it, I took it up when I was 17 in 1977, loved it.
I love this film . I bought my son a skateboard for his 10th birthday and decided to buy one too so we could spend quality time together . Im 53 and have literally fallen head over heels in love with surfskating , cant wait for the rain to stop or get home from work to get back on it . Never going to stop !
First of all… welcome to skateboarding! It’s not an easy thing but it’s incredible rewarding as you can see. I’m turning 50 next year and I also have no intention to stop anytime soon. Glad you enjoy the video 🙏🏻
What a beautiful, inspiring story. I am going to give my son's long board a try and research surf-skate boards. We have a beautiful seaside paved path here on Kauai.
Looks like you have to give it a try. Take it easy, specially at the beginning because this is the time that you know will fall at some point as your body hasn’t learned how to take slams yet. Pad it up… don’t push it too hard amd enjoy the flow. Welcome 👊
Cool Anthony… I’m glad you enjoyed the video. It was a pleasure to make i. Franck is an amazing guy and I’m lucky to be able to skate with him on a regular basis . 👊🏻
This is really inspiring, just what I needed while I'm taking a break due to a knee injury. I always wonder how many good years of skating do I have left, I know I'll never fully quit but there will come a time that I can't throw my body around as much and need to tone down my style. But people like Franck give us all hope! 🔥
Hey man… sorry to hear about your knee. Injury really sucks. Hopefully it won’t be long before you’re back on your board. Franck is a real inspiration for all of us. As long g as we try to stay healthy and away from injuries, we should be able to ride for many years to come. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

this is awesome. I skated hard in late 80's and through the 90's..... once a skate/surfer, always a skater/surfer - it will be in your blood and is a part of you. In a way it's life giving... it is a way of life. For me it is the enjoyment and freedom skating gives me. I'm 53 now, just got back into skating (still riding shaped boards) just cruising around and popping ollies, what a feeling - Franck is right, it's about the flow.... keep skating Franck, it'll keep you young.😊👍
I'm 44, surf, bodyboard, snowboard and ride my surfskate. The surfskate was the last thing I started (this year) and the one I can do the most because it relies less on variables like the weather. I don't understand why so many people stop this stuff in their 30s and 40s. It's fun and keeps you healthy and in shape. Go the Franck!
It’s amazing how far we’ve come in just a few decades. How skateboarding has been ascending and became so much more acceptable. I stopped for quite a few years due to personal reasons and busy life. Social media has helped me a lot. I discovered this growing community of older skaters and that re-ignited the fire on me too. I do admire those who never stopped… who kept moving one way or another. Now at 48… I still street skating as often as time allows me to. I just had to adapt the way I skate but one thing is for sure… I enjoy it more than before. Stories like yours… Franck and many more on here just proves how important these little 4 wheels toy is on our life… physically and mentally of course.
Really,.......how inspiring!!! Just returned from a holiday at the Atlantic Ocean in France and started surfing at the age of 53 years. Trying to learn wave kiteboarding as well since some time and will continue. Won't become a world champion one day but it's really fun and that's nice to share with beloved people. So go on ....grab your board and ride!
Big up & Respect ! J'ai 51 ans et j'espère continuer et être autant en forme à ton âge (que tu ne fais pas du tout). @@RonaldoBeatles that’s awesome! I’m the old skater around here at 40. Lol, but I only skate alone. In my 20s I have a friend in his mid 70s, and I surfed with him for half a decade into his 80s. He’d surf 3 times a day, no leash, lose his board and backstroke in spitting water from his mouth like a whale. Funny guy. But skating at 70 is next level. I fell 4 days ago in the bowl and my hip still hurts.

Still skating at 40, here.. only began skating again (since dropping it after I was 15) about 4 year ago and it's changed my life. There was a point early on, only a few months in, when it was clear I was an alcoholic (a clear choice, either continue skating or drinking.. not both).. skating saved me. Watching you is heartening. I am 58 and still love skating. I started in the 70s with a Penny board when I was 8. Felt home on a SIMS Andrecht since my teeny years. Then I came across a Surfskate when I was in France for Surfing a few years ago. It felt very instabile in the beginning, when you are used to an 11 Inch Poolboard. Now I am riding a Pukas La Loca Surfskate from Yow and equipped my Andrechts with the 210 Indies with a Surfskate adapter from Yow. Surfskating to me is the best skate-feeling ever. I‘m glad that I am still skating with friends since my younger days.
That’s a great story… amazing that you still skating with your friends after all this time. I think I will try surfskate at some point but as for now, I still enjoying street skating even thought it is so hard at my age too. All the best man… keep rolling and enjoying the flow! 👏

Really glad you enjoyed the video… I pass your message to Franck and he was very pleased to read it.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
That’s good… keeping yourself busy.
It must feels amazing being able to skate with your daughter.
Enjoy Mexico… wishing you all the best!
his walking posture is better than people less than half his age, not to mention he can fall and get back up. amazing and inspirational.
Yes… sometimes you can fall and roll and it’s all good. Sometimes the simple slam can get you off the board for days. As we say… skate tax, we all have to pay at some point. 👊
I’m 55 and skated as a young kid, lived close to the beach and surfed for nearly 20 years and now at 55 have just received my first longboard!
That’s awesome Andy… it won’t be long before your muscle memory kicks in again. It’s absolutely amazing to feel that wind again on your face. Enjoy it! 👊
His eyes and spirit are those of a 20 year old. Still rippin'. Well done!
Only a surfer (or skater) knows the feeling : ) 71, blessed, thankful and stoked surfing and skiing
71… well done my friend. You’re also an inspiration to all of us! 🙏🏻
Thanks, Brother! and blessings from New Hampshire, USA.@@RonaldoBeatles
Let them look and not understand!
You are not doing it for them, but...because you can!!!
I started skating at the age of 47, now I'm 58.
And I know exactly these 2 types of looks.
Do what you like!
Wow! Interesting to hear what you've learned in those 11-12 years
I don’t skate or surf, but I appreciate the wisdom being shared here. This is real life.
Glad you enjoyed the video… Thank you! 👊
I’m over 70 and I feel the same way about bicycling. As a child it was my escape and freedom, as an older person it is still a joy and privilege.
Wow… That’s awesome!
Cycling, skating, surfing etc… all part of the flow.
Thanks for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
👊🏼
Guys like this inspire me more to keep skating and surfing at 49yrs old than any top professional does!!! Stoked!!! Keep the flow going! 👍🤙🤘
I made this video with two purpose I’m mind. Leave it as souvenir for my friend Franck to look back at years to come but also to inspire other to bring back that feeling of flow into they lives.
Stoked that you enjoyed the video!
✌️
I’m almost 58 , when time permits , I enjoy riding my longboard, and I get asked “aren’t you too old for that ? “ and I think, that is so sad to think like that. And I reply, no, and keep going. Really enjoyed your story. Keep that mindset, and don’t conform.
That’s the spirit… thanks for watching and sharing your story with us!
Enjoy the flow!

I am 46 and still surfing/skating/snowboarding… I suppose most of the riders of my generation and younger will try to keep riding as long as possible. So in few years, if we keep good health 🤞, we might see more and more Francks…😉
You’re right… I really hope so too. The thing is to try to stay away from injuries as much as we can. This way we can continue to roll for many years to come 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
@@RonaldoBeatles the only way to stay healthy is not through medication, it’s through movement
@@Beardandhatactor so true.
@@Beardandhatactormovement and food (and possibly no stress/ meditation), too much global ignorance about nutrition and it's a huge problem for people but a great business for governements.
That’s awesome to hear… I’m 48 and still street skating once to twice a week. Body doesn’t responde in the same way as before so now more then never, we need to stay fit and healthy so that we can ride into our 70’s as well. Wishing you all the best man ✌️
I believe that was Bill Dohr-- I remember the photo as well :) 55 and still skating too-- May we all make it roll in our 70's & beyond Much Love fellow lifers!

I love all my skaters keep skating...

It must feel amazing to have a good session together. Consider yourself a lucky man with a cool team! 👊
@RonaldoBeatles I'm blessed and humble to be able to have the time and 5o physically be able to keep up with them...
I'm so thankful and truly happy... I'm a simple man so it's truly the greatest gift life has given me besides the love I receive from others.
I just want to reciprocate the love and blessings that I've received.
I just want to add.
To all those going thru something please keep love and faith in your hearts don't let this world turn you cold... Love you family and hang in there its the intentions within your heart that will manifest the life you are existing in... or currently going thru.

Cheers!😎🌊
That’s awesome man… I made this video for my friend Franck to be able to look back at it one day and remembered the rad days. This video is also to celebrate people like you, skaters that have been ripping for decades and still out there pushing! I’m also 47 and still enjoying every second of it and I hope to be able to push for many years to come. 👊🏻

This man is awesome and very inspiring. I just turned 40 and went on TH-cam to look up videos of people who still skateboard in their 40's to see if I won't be alone and stumbled upon this video. 70 years old and still skateboarding! Absolutely incredible.

That’s awesome story… going full circle! Just like you also said, as long as we stay safe, we should be able to keep going a bit more ✌️
I am 48.been addicted to the flow since I was 9yo.broke my leg in January and feel it's time to get back into the flow.a lot of people in my village think I'm reckless for wanting to sk8 again but they don't understand the feeling of a board under your feet.the subtle vibration of wheels on tarmac.

@@RonaldoBeatles It's wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing it with us! Bless you both 🙂
I'm 46 and just brought my first surfskate to join my 8-yrs old son. Already broke my hand, but not gonna give up. Take care 😉
Amazing video what a wonderful spirit! Just ride it 🙌

This is really inspiring, just what I needed while I'm taking a break due to a knee injury. this is awesome.
Do what you want to do. It’s your life!
Spot on! 👊
That's great and I've been skating over 57 years and slamming everyday and still get on my board and put in work. Keep rolling my fellow skater.

I fell 4 days ago in the bowl and my hip still hurts.
