I do the phone tilt when I read fanfiction even though I don’t read smut because I don’t want everyone to see me reading fanfiction, but then I heard that people often do the phone tilt when they’re reading smut and now I’m worried that other people who read fanfic will see me tilt my phone and make incorrect assumptions of what I’m reading.
Go check your ao3 history. I looked at mine and i had more than 4k fics there. I read fanfic since 2013 but i only started to use ao3 3 or 4 years ago...
Do you also watch DreamSMP? If you do then you should just avoid that section of Ao3. Pretend it doesn't exist. That's the only thing we can do nowdays.

I remember when I used to read Wattpad. I thought it was so superior to AO3 and that people who hated on it were hating it for no reason. Anyway, it took me about a month of reading for me to realise that all the top fics for my fandom were practically the same but with different OCs or Y/Ns. Moved to AO3 and I have never looked back. The writing is 10x better and the stories are so diverse. The filtering system as well! The only thing about Wattpad I miss is the comments, but other than that, it doesn’t have anything outstanding to it.

my answer is Wattpad, I just like the profile thing more, the fact that there's an app version and the graphic, and the sign up is more simple to understand, in the other way I like how there are different age rating tags on ao3.
I wish the mature age rating could be split into smut mature and graphic content because I do not want to scroll through 5,000,000 smut fics and burn my eyes with those tags.
