Peripheral Nerve Stimulation - What You Need To Know

- A peripheral nerve stimulator is a medical device designed to alleviate chronic pain by directly targeting peripheral nerves in the body. It operates by sending controlled electrical impulses to these nerves, disrupting the transmission of pain signals to the brain. This innovative approach offers an effective, drug-free solution for individuals suffering from persistent pain conditions such as neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), or chronic headaches. By customizing the stimulation parameters to suit the patient’s needs, a peripheral nerve stimulator can provide significant pain relief, enhance quality of life, and restore physical functionality, offering hope and respite to those enduring the challenges of chronic pain.

Thanks!
I get my trial on Monday 😬
How do you feel?
@@nil2thebrain Thanks for asking! I’m pretty much back to square one right now, meaning I feel like trash. The trial only lasted 5 days instead of 7 as one of the leads came out & I got a massive shock on the side where it was still attached. So I had to turn it off earlier, but I did get some relief out of it. It’s a little hard to judge because it took about 2 days for the horrible pain to go away from the lead insertion (I have a ridiculous amount of weird health issues & it takes me forever to heal, so even from that little amount I was in excruciating pain.) Once that eased up I definitely had relief but then it cut out so I don’t know if I would have had more.
I’ve got up to 6 months to decide if I want to go through with the surgery or not but I have some reservations & am trying to find out if anyone with my genetic disorder had it done, & if so how it went.
I don’t know what I was expecting but it literally feels like a TENS unit but underneath your skin.
It’s worth doing the trial, especially if you’re having trouble lessening your pain with traditional methods.
What about foot and ankle or should I do the scs instead
What do I have to do if I am truly interested I know I can benefit from this I know that this is something I want to do help me please
You need to make an appointment with a doctor (probably a neurologist) to evaluate you and make a plan
Is this technique safe
Can it cause cancer?
How much is the possibility to cause cancer?
Not going to cause cancer! Not happening. Hopefully you are well aware of good diet and don't use chemicals that can induce cancer.
Sadly I believe our food would cause cancer before this device. Working in Healthcare myself they probably Don't have studies on that yet because it takes years for those types of studies and all these devices haven't been out long enough to perform studies to that magnitude
