I'm sure others will get around to this. But those two beast girls are much more of a menace in the light novels. More back story explaining that they bully and treat people very poorly. They act spoiled etc. So the revenge seems justified except the groping part however it is what it is. Still this episode was a pretty good adaptation all around.

But it's one of those things a 40 second insert over the last three episodes would have done it.

It'd because people are specifically sensitive over crimes of a sexual nature. Imo nobody would have hated the slave thing as much if they weren't already predisposed to dislike him because of the sexual stuff. I think it's because sexual crimes are a visceral personal expierience for alot of people. And those have family that have dealt with it. It's personal. So it creates a culture that's especially adverse to any indication or mention of it. It's hard to reconcile these other more objectively heinous crimes. Ironically. It's a sign of lack of empathy. People joke about those heinous things all the time. Wish them upon people all the time. Because they don't truly understand. They can't truly identify with the reality of those things. They're make believe.
I think since also Eren has push back to his plans in the story narratively, like you have his friends literally trying to stop him (not join him). The seriousness of it shown as well, with the horror of the people being affected as they are getting stomped on. Though with Rudy questionable behavior (sexual in nature too specifically as other comment mentioned) often could be played off more for comedy like this episode.

I think maybe come back to the show after 3-4 years, sorry but this is not a Shounen for 13 year olds, but an Isekai with SoL as a major factor, like S1 already deleted a LOOOOOOOT of SoL in it, and I dont think its correctly justified as Slime does have a lot of SoL and OVAs like slime diaries. Problem with you guys is that, you take anime for the face value. Mushoku keeps things realistic, and thats the reason the show becomes slow and Rudeus is still a pervert, because people are like that in real life. Can't say I'm a fan of Rudy touching people non-consensually though as shown here to give the early S1 Rudy vibes... especially when he seem to be progressing away from that. So it's not necessarily sexuality itself, but also how it's portrayed. This was a less than savory moment as a bit disappointing.

1:13 - The difference I've seen is that with Vinland Saga it had a depiction for slavery with Ketil in the end shown as bad person as slave owner. Thorfinn the MC is also a slave himself, not a 3rd party participating in the system (accompanying friends to buy slave).
Or the lack of thought on Rudy's part (perhaps aspect of anime adaptation) not seeming enough to have negative response to the initial proposal to buying a slave (too casual), being someone from the modern world.
I think the overreaction was definitely not warranted of course, but I can see the difference for the criticism in that way. It's not about the existence of the topic of slavery itself, more so Rudy's casual response to it for the criticism for some people.

great world with lots of cool ass character but sadly the mc in the show just isn't for me. i'm not honestly sure were the direction of the show is heading, i hope something good comes out of this arc, sure him reunitiing with elf girl is nice and all but i kind of want rudy to go on some crazy adventure and get into crazy situation against some op characters. Meeting ruijerd was nice and all but the whole arc was them just trying to safely reach home which is understandable since they're kids, then eris left him, and he ended up in that small snowy village for a few episodes meetings some characters we might not ever see again and for me nothing crazy really happened. honeslty hoping what that god told him about studying what caused the teleportation leads into an adventure arc or something. Craziest and coolest thing i've seen so far in this show was meeting that cool ass op dude who curb stomped his whole team, that shit went from 0 to 100 instantly and even though rudy isn't anywhere near as strong as him, would love to see him fight stronger people, but i feel like he just wants to cure his ED, get married and retire

Problem with you guys is that, you take anime for the face value. Mushoku keeps things realistic, and thats the reason the show becomes slow and Rudeus is still a pervert, because people are like that in real life. Most of our lives are mundane, and oir characters remains the same until we are forced to change ourselves. We will see the same with Turning Point 3 and 4 and Rudy marrying Sylphy and changing himself in the pervert dept, so yea, just watch it when you grow a bit older and actually come in and out of mature relationships.
I really like this anime especially the twist happen during the 1st season , but it is started to look like a bad way to normalise degenerate behaviour. He even wanted to commit a suicide until his mentor hit the sword off his hand . Now , kidnapping two girls from the same school because of dishonouring a statue ( toy ) , take them to school room a touch their boobs , just to ensure my gears are working . Who write this S%#t . The anime had a good drama in the beginning but he is now ruining the protagonist moral noble cause of finding his family , improving his life to the better by working hard . He made him cry like a baby because , what her name ; Astra left him . Come on ; reflect the manhood in hero properly .
