Live like prostitutes/gigolos/leeches/freeloaders do shamelessly sponging off their rich Sugar Daddies, living a life of ease & comfort
These Sugar Daddies view their prostitutes/leeches with contempt and disgust!
amazing that no theist can understand that God too views them with disgust & contempt!

intelligent design actually continues to improve on their technology. The evidence is: there are some ancient spices who never evolve in billions of years, while some species can evolve slowly and some species can evolve quickly. Intelligent design knows how to control the evolution speed.

I don't agree with the whole inference from possible hypotheses line of reasoning. We have observed earthquakes, floods, great storms and volcanic eruptions to compare the aftermaths of those events to the aftermath of Mount St. Helens. However we have never observed the inception of another universe nor have we observed the programming of DNA of an eternal being for another life form. In Washington we can call back to other similar events, but as for the big bang and (a)biogenesis on earth we have no similar events. Therefore all Meyer proposes here are his hypotheses, and they have nothing to do with scientific fact.

    • @chrispark2698
      @chrispark2698 2 ปีที่แล้ว

His hypotheses are conclusions drawn from scientific fact. Science has shown that is near impossible, and extremely implausible, that life to formed from non-life. The 'primordial soup' theory of chemical evolution (abiogenesis) is completely ridiculous at this point, and the more scientists study the area, the further they get from accomplishing their goal. Science has NEVER shown how 'instruction information' (a particular sequence of data, symbols, impulses, etc, conveyed or represented by a particular arrangement, which guides the processes of how things operate or function) can come from anything BUT a mind. Atheists constantly complain about a lack of evidence for God - but this is it, right here. Where is the evidence that information comes from anything but a mind? How did the information in DNA come to be, without a mind? How did the laws of physics, which seem to be pre-programmed into our universe, come to exist, if not from a mind? There is ZERO scientific evidence that can answer these questions without a MIND which transcends the universe itself. The evidence for God is right here in front of us. You just need to open your eyes and see it.

Stephen Meyer is awesome but sounds like he needs to get up to speed on the work of Halton Arp: redshift, as it’s used to support the big bang theory, does not equal Doppler effect. Understanding what Arp proved is fundamental to whether a given world view is fundamentally correct.

That is all this is about, right? Death can't be the end - we must live forever

" *The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil and no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference. DNA neither cares nor knows. DNA just is. And we dance to its music* "
The statement by Richard Dawkins has always been one of the most ridiculously illogical and self defeating statements ever.
If this were true Richard is not free to make that statement as it completely negates itself.

    • @martam4142

True. And if DNA "doesn't" care" (lol), and we ARE dna, then how can Mr. Dawkins have moral concerns?
Self-refuting arguments are probably the most pathetic form of anti-intellectualism.
That so many people worship this moron of Dawkins is a sad sign of our times.
The terms "garbage + thinker" describe him perfectly.

The exponential expansion of materialism in parallel to Darwin's lifetime inevitably led to the enthusiastic embracing of "The Theory of Evolution" as a refutation of God. In parallel, there became a direct correlation with Marxism, attendant to the ensuing rapid intrusion of anti-theism into the realm of scientific thought. This created a state of emotional and intellectual emptiness that is now manifesting as both active and benign mass depression - an anti-God psychosis within the academic establishment.

Why do we need science to point us anywhere? Science, from the pretensions of those who worship at its altar, is simply the reasoning of men in their attempt to understand the material world. The mind is more than sufficient evidence that there is so much more beyond the material world; in fact, without the mind, there is no material world, for who or what would perceive it? One doesn't need science to find God. One need humility.

Darwin's theory actually proves that God not only create species, but also give them the ability of adaption, meaning that species have the capacity of adapting themselves into each specific enviroment for survival. Darwin's book name should be changed from "the origin of species" to "the adaption of species".

One of the things that has ALWAYS bothered me about the darwinistic evolutionary debate is that only the fauna side is very discussed but why isn't flora development ever talked about. For example what evolutionary mechanism is responsible for the movement from simple plants such as algae into a rose? Maybe the argument can be made for algae into grass as it would be splashed onto land but what motivates a simple plant to develop "thorns" much less attractive color or scents.... plants are perfect examples of living things that are completely oblivious to their surroundings so how could the plant be "aware" of bees in the first place to trigger the development of non photosynthesis pigments or the inducing aroma of the flower or even if oblivious how could it develop thorn to defend itself?

It is an irony that only a conscious mind can deny an intelligent creator is in itself proof that he is. Because only a conscious mind can decide to be an atheist. Many won't get this. But the atheist now has to come up with 'information' that explains the forming of information. If there was no conscious mind then we would not need to explain how information came about.

Interesting fact; From earths perspective we are only capturing a certain maximum degree of visibility with respect to planets. So every time we make a discovery of a planet, its size, composition, orbit, etc; that is solely because our viewing angle is just right to detect it. In other words, when we detect one planet, there are likely over a hundred more that we simply cannot detect because our viewing angle doesn't allow us to. So we can infer how many planets there are in the universe even though we just can't see them.

To be fair to Dawkins. His quote specified "In a purely material universe"... what we find is pitilessness and indifference. I would just say, that is completely correct.. IF we had a purely material universe. The problem with Dawkins' quote is that he was presupposing materialism. Also, it is very telling that those two qualities are literally the opposite of true love and love itself is not reducible to the material.

    • @jiin5993
      @jiin5993 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Nature is pitiless and indifferent. It might not what you would like it to be, but your feelings have nothing to say about what is true. Nature is also beautiful and inspiring. Love is a bond between humans, we make the world livable for each other. Is this all not enough? Why invoke anything metaphysical, when we have each other and nature to inspire us and love us? It is simply a hypothesis born from desire, but please realize there is not much left to be desired!

Stephen is spot on with his logic and science!
Biology is rife with observable physical facts and evidences that can only be explained by physically existential attributes.
Powerfully compelling evidence that leaves no room for retreat to the comparatively ailing and incompetent hype of Darwinian evolution via purely naturalistic casual forces.
    No excuse.
While I disagree with Stephen's adherence to the secular notion of extremely vast ages, specifically the millions and billions of years they insist on, I think i understand how he got there.
I pray he has a revelation and realizes he can trust God's word more than he can trust the consensus of secular scientists.
They need those vast ages to make room for their imaginations about Darwinian processes! But there are hundreds of fatal problems with imagining even 20 million years of Earth's mechanical functionality, let alone 4 or 5 billion years!
Who was doing all the maintenance, for instance? Because the laws of entropy and physics interacting with all the relevant matter, etc, breeds very real problems and compounds them exponentially for everyone who flippantly insist those are realistic time frames.

Dawkins clearly never thought through what design is and how it can be recognized and properly distinguished from things which do in fact only have an appearance of design.
Design is not discerned just from something looking pretty or appearing intricate or being complex.
It is discerned from a purposeful arrangement of elements and purpose is detected by the performance of a function.
Higher orders of design can be distinguished by how functions mesh with the performance of other functions in the same environment or - denoting an even higher level of design - in timed concert with other functions to achieve an even greater objective.
Aback of all design is intent because design requires foresight.
Intent and Purpose come only from a Designing Mind.

And so who designed the designer? You can't believe that a blind, unicellular creature emerged from the primordial muck and guck but a magic man with arms and legs and incredible powers just popped into existence? Hello!
Where is your education, sir? Where did all this reasoning go?
Where is your designer for your God?

The typical argument against fine tuning of the universe seems to be that life originated in the conditions that were present. If the parameters had been different, then the resultant life would have been different, and these different parameters would appear to have also been fine tuned. (A jigsaw puzzle piece is always going to precisely match the spot it fits in, regardless of which puzzle is being discussed).

Woody Allen said "I'm not afraid of death; I just don't want to be there when it happens." Anyhow, rewinding the clock, going to the BIRTH of the universe 14 billion years ago, in a "big bang." To say hey, the universe had a beginning, so it must have had a creator, is circular logic. And then you start exploring what many cosmologists believe, and that is this: there was a universe prior to this one, part of which or the whole of which, contracted down to a point from which expansion started resulting in the universe as we know it. www.livescience.com/49958-theory-no-big-bang.html. An amazing 2007 book called "Endless Universe" revealed this same theme. www.goodreads.com/book/show/885276.Endless_Universe This fits very nicely into Hindu belief, that universes are born and universes die, to be reborn again. But not God, who IS this ever-changing universe, is timeless, ageless, and infinite. Make any shape of Play-Doh, it is still Play-Doh.
As to the universe being "fine-tuned" for life, what a ridiculous statement. Our earth is and has been, but not any other planets, and surely not the sun or stars which are so furiously hot that life cannot even form there.
As to "intelligent" design, surely the "designer" was either drunk or on drugs. From the earliest days, fish and mammals have to feed on life to survive. If you see a tiger killing and tearing up an innocent deer, you'll question the idea of an "intelligent designer." Whereas Hinduism has a hint of an answer: like innumerable sparks that fly off a blazing fire, so are we, (living beings) sparks from the fire that is God. But unfortunately, many of the sparks took the easy way out and decided they had to feed off other sparks whereas some sparks (think plants with their chlorophyll) decided they could just live off the energy of the sun! Sure this is just a hint of an answer; nobody knows the whole story! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindu_cosmology
And as to the biblical age of the earth, as having been created out of nothing in 4004 BCE, that is myth. Fascinating myth, but myth all the same. Maybe it is just Hindu myth that the universe is 4.32 billion year life-span. Humanity needs to use its God-given brains and keep exploring.

A brave new world of post-materialism is already in its infancy. For at least a century now, we have begun to realize, through the counter-positivistic findings of astronomy, quantum mechanics and biology, that the universe is way weirder and more mysterious than science could have fathomed. Standard 19th century descriptions of a hard cold empty random indifferent universe simply do not match mathematical interpretations of reality as it is. The system is just too unique and fine-tuned to be random, matter could not come together in growing complexity and agency were it not somehow designed to. Yes, Darwin was insufficiently accurate, as he knew. As was Einstein. And most definitely Dawkins.
The information codified in and flowing between us through our shared experiences and their resulting mental phenomena are metaphysical: they mirror the superstructure of the universe. What happens is full of transcendental value, it's always some kind of lesson. We are not mere accidents. An intelligent designer of some kind is at constant play in the very fabric of existence. Whether you (like most oriental philosophies) believe God (Brahma, Atman, Self) to be the ultimate intelligent dimension of reality itself (Pantheism) or an outsider (transcendental creator and conductor, Theism), that is another (possibly intangible) question altogether. What we all can’t escape is a collective realization of a natural moral law we all must align with and converge, like Tao, Dharma, or an evolving universal (as in “catholic”, or Bahá'í) religion. But in any case, we are bound to return to a common sense of the universe and our lives as full of meaning, wisdom and purpose.
Mankind is bound to reassert itself in the role of beholder (God's most accomplished disciple this side of the galaxy) of the beauty and inexorable metalogic übercausality of all things. Let's take a step back so to leap forward to a (very scientific) humanistic or spiritualistic cultural framework of wonder and reverence instead of nihilism, decadence and never so silent despair...

Stephen Meyer is truly a national resource, intelligent, knowledgeable, and winsome. Intuitively, Meyer's thinking is the opposite of quackery. I have always been interested in the issues presented by the question of origins. Scientific materialists insist that everything we know is a function of matter and energy. Early on, that puzzled me, since we now know that life is defined and driven by DNA. DNA is highly complex, highly specific functinal information. What is the mass, texture, and dimension of information? It has none. It is neither matter nor enegy. It is perfectly non-material. And yet, living things are defined by it. Thus, logicailly, it seems to me that the claim that everything in the universe is defined by matter and energy is defeated. Scientific materialism is therefore refuted. Surely, such reasoning very directly supports Meyer's thesis, he can be seen as a very formidable advocate for the God hypothesis.

he is choosing the simplest themes! Is there any soul? what happens after death? Does the God, if he exists, influence the human lives? If so why are there many injustices? Try to read the Bible, page by page, including the atrocities committed by the Jews when crossing the Jordan. The Jewish God seemed to have approved of the killings. MOreover, the God gives away to the Jews the lands of other peoples. Very strange. So I would split the notions of the God, religions and the church (es).

If Richard Dawkins is right that all life was created without intelligence, then we could all take the books that contain his name and put ours there as he could not possibly be the author! How could he claim plagiarism ?
We could take all of his books scramble the text and relabel them and give credit with his name to assert random selection. How could he justify a complaint of misrepresentation, or seek repudiation when only nonsense is produced, as its production would be based on his assumptions.

The problem is that the wrong questions are being asked. Step out of the realm of materialism...and until that is done....science will continue to stagnate and struggle with the same old fundamental questions. Its gets really boring when science continues to chase their tails looking for answers in the wrong places. 👎👎
