  • I can’t see any good coming out of a natural disaster. Can you? But can God? Frank’s answer includes the ripple effect (see his book “Stealing from God” for much more on why God allows evil).

This is Frank giving an answer because he does not know the answer. He is a Dr. and cannot say he doesn't know. He does not know why there is suffering, anguish, despair on earth and why god allows it and uses it on us. Isaiah 29:13 - The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught. Matthew 15:9 - They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules. These are things Frank says to make himself feel good. Frank has never had a child kidnapped, raped and beheaded. He has never felt the "business end" of your god's Job attack. You god had Job who was the greatest man on earth according to your god attacked, had his family murdered and your god took away all his wealth and health...just for a bet. Your god is a blood god. He is no better than the Aztecs.

@@bensurrey6836 God allowed the devil to attack Job, not because it was just a bet, because God had a teaching to give Job and all of us, which is the wisdom of God is infinite and we can never know why God does what he does. The truth is that unless God specifically says so, we don't know why He does what He does or allows what He allows. When tragedy strikes, we don't get those answers right away. As believers, we come back to what we know of God. It's not Him that should come down and answer our demands, it's us who should submit to His power, authority and sovereignty over all things. Job is an excellent reference to illustrate the difference between our position and God's position. He is God and we are not.

When your parents asked you as a kid “where were you last night?” Or “what time did you get home last night?” It’s not because they didn’t know. And God does not need our support and praise. Your god curses Adam to till the earth as well as all of humanity and weevilsYou do not and cannot connect the tortures we all suffer with the fact that god created, thought up, all of the tortures. God created everything that is created. This means he made Job suffer horribly on a
bet. Job was innocent. If he would do that to Job what is keeping him from doing that to you? Doesn't matter how much you tithe, how much you pray, how much you love god, your time will come. God created the common cold so that we cough, especially at night. God made the cold so that when we sinusesimpossible without a very powerful topical numbing agent. These are the elephants in the room Christians do not ever address. What is the purpose of the flea? Why Believe on Jesus are you not in heaven? Ecclesiastes 5:2 (NIV) - "Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few." In other words this says, "shut your mouth, you are on earth, god is in heaven so what do you know. Proverbs 16:4 (Amplified Bible) - "The LORD has made everything for its own purpose, Even the Columbineshooters. He birthed them to shoot up their high school. God let them shoot innocent children. He is in collusion with Ottis Ellwood Toole who decapitated 7 year old Adam Walsh during their, Ottis and Adam's "day of evil". God's Word Translation - "The LORD has made everything for his own purpose, even wicked people for the day of trouble." Still worthy of worship? Why couldn't god just vanish the Canaanites? Instead he commanded the Israelites to "completely destroy" them in a scorched earth policy. Men, women, children, elderly, infirmed, chickens, donkeys, pets all dead, hacked to death. Did they separate the women and children from the men? Did they kill the children first and then the women? What did they do with the bodies? Did they construct ovens to burn them? Did the Israelites spend days hacking the Canaanites in a bloodbath equal to the Canaanites religion they are being punished for performing? Why didn't the Canaanites fight back? How did they allow themselves to be holocausted? Sin is S - SELF CENTEREDNESS, I - INDIFFERENCE AND N - NEGATIVITY. God sins. He is SELF CENTERED in that all is for his pleasure. He is a "my way or the highway" guy. God does not care about the negative repercussions or ramifications of his acts. He is INDIFFERENT to the suffering he inflicts on humanity and he is NEGATIVE, wrathful and jealous when we do, in his eyes, bad or go against him. You have your beliefs and are stubborn against anything that does not sound or feel like you. In this way you are safe. Rose colored glasses only give you one view. As long as you stay in the safety of what you have created as your religion you do not have to see the world as it is. You believe that religion gives you what you need to know; it supplies everything so you do not need anything else. You are complete in your beliefs. This is hiding from fear not true religion. Your god is not merciful. You need to work in a children's ICU ward for at least 5 years. You will see how "merciful" your god is. I was on god's side for a while. I thought children with cancer were hard lessons for the parents. I used to believe that god infected the children to teach the parents to care, to love, to have empathy. Then it struck me. Why? Why are we tortured with death, disease, money, greed? I too could see that the wicked prosper and the good do not. Then when the good prosper they fight off corruption. If god is loving why treat his children the way he does? It was only at that point where I could see that god infected us before birth with pride, contention, SIN - god created our "Fallen Nature", we are innocent of the Fall but not the life we live on earth. Why aren't you in heaven? Think about it. Your god has placed you on a hostile planet. You share a planet with cannibals, murderers, child rapists, Otty Sanchez ate her babies brain and fingers. She opened the baby's head while it was still alive. Stay in your self constructed beliefs - it's too scary out here. Can you explain to me why Ottis Ellwood Toole ate Adam Walsh's 7 year old body, tossed the head and why Otty Sanchez was allowed to torture and eat her child?

What method do you go about determining whether or not something is true? Is it reliable? Does it work for other things? To clarify: atheism doesn’t mean holding the belief that god doesn’t exist, rather it means lacking the belief that a god exists. For me, I lack the belief that a god exists because there isn’t enough evidence or reason to support the claim that one does exist.

These questions are probably the hardest to explain to an atheist. Now that I see things from the Christian side, I can understand, in the abstract, that pain and suffering may be necessary to lead us stubborn humans to God. But it's extremely easy to reject this on emotional grounds, from the sense that if God can do anything, he can do it without hurting, or even inconveniencing us.

    • @haitaelpastor976

If God really wanted to win us over, he should have tried creating that "ultimate heaven where no suffering or need will be felt" in the first place. 100% success chance.
Instead, he chose to play this cruel, mocking, sadistic game with us as puppets.
God is a cosmic horror, it has nothing to do with love.

    • @SimpleAmadeus
      @SimpleAmadeus หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@haitaelpastor976 Hi there!
Creating a perfect paradise in the first place is exactly what God did! The problem is that the first generation of people chose to disobey every single rule that had been set (literally just one simple rule), and the second generation of people decided to proceed with murder. It only got worse and worse from then onwards. God has been working on cleaning up the mess we made, and make, ever since.
And sometimes, cleaning up that mess means doing things that genuinely upset us, even hurt us, in order to solve the much bigger problem: our very, very rotten souls. God's one and only activity with us is to heal us from our own sinful state, without deleting our ability to decide for ourselves. It is a very, very delicate process.
And in case you are thinking about making creatures that do not sin in the first place, He did exactly that. They are called angels. But He also wanted us, the sinful humans, to exist, despite our flaws. So, He made us, and continually endures all the trouble that results from that decision.
I hope this helps. Have a great day!

Unfortunately, it turned out that the success chance was less than 100% after all, but at least that takes away your objection, so now there's nothing stopping you from accepting and receiving His magnificent Grace and Mercy!

For me, it has to do with free will again. For free will to happen, there need to be two choices. Therefore, God creates these things because they come together. Everything comes in a pair because of free will. If you give the option of love, it would also come with hate. If you gave light, it would come with darkness. WHY? Because darkness is the absence of light. Therefore, hate is the absence of love. God creates things, and because He creates things, there is also the absence of the things He has created. Therefore, your choice isn't to love or hate. Your choice is to have love OR to not have love. You are choosing whether you would like to have what God has created, therefore if you choose to have it, you can have it. But, if you choose not to have it, then you don't have it. You have the absence of the thing God has created. For example, choose not to have love, then you will not have love, love would be absent in your life, and the absence of love is hate. Hate is the absence of love.

We'll write soon." The message my grandparents received was "Everything destroyed. Need supplies." Due to that mix up, my grandparents organized a drive in their respective churches to send care packages to my mom and dad. Second, one of their friends owned a plantation on the south side of the island, an area of the island which got hit the worst. The winds from the typhoon created a sand wall that protected his house from the brunt of the storm, and he and his family rode it out in relative safety. Third, everyone on the island pulled together after the typhoon and pooled their remaining resources to help one another, especially those who lost everything. Fourth, my dad, who was in the Navy at the time and formerly in the Army during Viet Nam, was out in the storm saving women and children who had got caught in a collapsed building. He had a rope tied around his waist, which was held onto by the others of his unit while he went out into the storm. Because of his bravery, he managed to save the lives of over a dozen women and children.
The typhoon was Super Typhoon Pamela, which hit Guam in 1976. It's still registered in the top 10 most devastating typhoons to hit the area. In the midst of God's big show, he showed just how far his love can go for those who believe in him.

So here is what to consider, if God set for certain laws that requires or dictates the need for hurricanes for example and we understand that hurricanes exists and yet we build our homes an lives where hurricanes are possible is that God's fault. To that end, when a natural disaster occurs and devastation happens, is the lack of a universal response (love thy neighbor) from us to help those impacted God's fault?

Why have there been other Gods that rose from the dead, and ascended into Heaven and down to Hell? These are very very valid questions. I honestly believed in God until I found out there's been Gods before that performed miracles and rose from the dead. Also the earth age is a big one for me. There can't be that much of a gap.

I think the answer to natural disasters is a bit more complex then saying 'because of sin.' We live in a dynamic world. There are huge amounts of things in our ecospace that do various things we are unaware of. Some of them can cause tragic things to happen to humans in the wrong conditions, but most provide important functions. For example, we see earthquakes as bad when we are in the thick of them. However, earthquakes release pressure between tectonic plates that are vital to a number of other natural functions in this dynamic world. Simply put- without earthquakes our planet would be a lifeless husk.
And ultimately we will all die. There is no escaping it. So why does it matter if we die in an earthquake or on our death bed at 80? The question shouldn't be why didn't we get to live longer. It should be why did we even get to live at all? Our dynamic world created by our amazing God made it possible. God gives us a chance at life. We should be thankful for the time we have.

lol what utter piffle, what has freewill or "choice" got to do with BONE CANCER that causes untold suffering and death to millions of innocent children and their families. ? Just what "purpose" does it serve ? Did God not have a "choice" to create a world without bone cancer?
How about the multitude of other Diseases, Tsunamis, Viruses, birth defects, Earthquakes, Floods, Famines, ect ect. ??
I think Epicurus put it much better than I ever could........
_"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able_ ? _Then he is not omnipotent_
_Is he able, but not willing_ ? _Then he is malevolent_
_Is he both able and willing_ ? _Then whence cometh evil_ ?
_Is he neither able nor willing_ ? _Then why call him God"_ ?
      Epicurus
Secondly, is heaven not supposed to be a place of perfection ?? a place where there is NO EVIL and sin is not possible !!
If people DO have "freewill" in heaven then it is entirely possible for God to have created an environment where there is NO EVIL and people still have freewill 😜
If people DO NOT have "Freewill" in heaven then it's entirely unnecessary for people to have freewill in order to be happy 😜
So which one is it cupcake ?? 🤔😜

They gave in to the temptation of deciding what was best for their life and being masters of their future, rather than trusting that God had their best interests at heart. Every day humans fail their own Adam/Eve choice by making lifestyle choices that they feel are best for them in that moment even though they fall short of what God wants from us. Essentially God is perfect. People belly ache about suffering when they are living as if life is a line segment that begins at birth and ends at death. But according to Christianity, life is not a line segment. It's a ray that extends past death and goes on for eternity. When we complain about suffering, we measure the suffering according to time lost.

Dr. Kent Hovind says that because of the ice canopy, it didn't even rain until it broke when the flood in the days of Noah started, so storms were also not a thing after the fall. That’s something to consider when you feel like that. We can’t ask to never suffer. He already answered that prayer. We are to endure until the end. That’s the problem with Christianity these days. But according to Christianity, life is not a line segment. It's a ray that extends past death and goes on for eternity. When we complain about suffering, we measure the suffering according to time lost.
