    Kanade Sato on drums. She’s amazing. All those great fills at the end of the song with a perfect posture 🥁👌🏻
    Thanks Ryan and Home Gnome

    Kanade Sato is an amazing drummer. She also is also in an other project (her first one she was in from when she was 15 or so) called Ear Candy Jazz Factory. I believe they were on some sort of hiatus because the main writer and pianist/keyboard player couldn't play because of a medical thing (I forgot what, but possibly hearing problems), but they recently released an EP as well. She is actually a child prodigy just like Senri was, just a little younger (turned 20 last year) and have been playing drums since she was 3. She has performed with the guitarist Rie a.k.a. Suzaku a lot the last couple of years performing metal and rock as well, but before that she was mainly a jazz drummer including performing very difficult pieces by Dave Weckl when she turned 16.
    The most recently concert/stream Rie did was with both Kanade Sato and Senri Kawaguchi on drums, the newest Tokyo Groove Jyoshi bassist Rina Hoshino and the keyboard player that is on the new progressive metal EP/project that Murata Tamu also performed on called Nakayoshi Metal.
    I like Muses and love to watch their streamed shows, but yes Rie a.k.a. Suzaku's guitar playing isn't always super smooth on these. She is mainly a metal and rock guitarist and while she certainly holds her own in these more Jazz Fusion tracks, you can still hear she isn't super used to playing this style. SHe is clearly getting better though, Muses hasn't been around for all that long (a year or 2). She certainly is a talented guitarist.

      I enjoy Kanade Sato enough to own Ear Candy's, Rie's and Muses cds. She very enjoyable to hear and watch, so much in control and focused.

      I don't own Rie's CD's, but I do own both Ear Candy Music Factory album and EP and the Muses album (and pre-ordered the new one). I have tought about getting one of Rie's albums before, but never gotten around to it. But yes, Kanade Sato is always a joy to watch. I think the next chance I get is the streamed Muses concert on September 10th and I can not wait.

      My collection of Rie's is Top Runner, World Journey, World Journey 2, and Best of
      Instrumental. Kanade is her drummer on all the songs with exception to the Best of. So which disc is the pre-order for.

      Muses is releasing a new album on October 18th called "Goddess of Victory ", I got a pre-order for that one. And I'm a huge Senri Kawaguchi fan, it's actually through her that I got to know both Rie and Kanade Sato, so chances are I would get one of the early Rie albums that has Senri as a drummer.
      I just realized that I do own 1 DVD of one of the Instrumental Summit series Rie sometimes does, which looking from the cover has Kanade on it. I do remember it being pretty poor quality self-printed DVD-R though, but still fun to check out. Recently I just try to check regularly if they do them streamed and just watch them that way.
      Edit: Quickly checked, apparently Senri only played on one of the albums (or the site I was checking didn't have credits for the others). So yeah, I would probably get that one first, but I think Kanade Sato does a great job though from the tracks I have heard on live sets.

    Rie's guitar tone is so prominent live that you can here every pick strike and movement with her left hand. It always sounds like that. Massive confidence.

    I saw these guys in London in 2019, when they were just a project under the name of the guitarist, Rie aka Suzaku. Last year they branded themselves "Muses" and have been putting out a lot of music.

    super group here, have followed them all for years on various projects. they are all doing other things at the same time not just this. Juna the bassist also works with Tokyo Groove Jyoshi and the Jazz Avengers as well as her own solo stuff. RIE is always doing all kinds of collabs and is a super sweetie. The drummer, Kanade Sato here was doing jazz and freestyle drumming and often compared to Senri Kawaguchi including making some live appearances with her, she's also been seen this past year with KOAI doing some rock and pop drumming styles with them (Lisa-X and Hazauki from Nemophila are the guitars in KOAI) no word on whether she Kanade will do more with them or not. but she's a really super talented and powerful drummer, I love getting her drumming, she's a little more laser focused and serious, but I think she's still having fun. I don't know the keyboardist as well, but she's actually a really good player with a nice blend into the music without overpowering.

    Really diggin the guitar sound, very Satriani-esque imo. In fact the whole song reminds me of 'Summer Song' mixed with some of those awesome 90's racing games ost, you know, Daytona USA and that stuff

    Yeh that was great. Been watching Rie for quite a few years now. And she has various ladies for her Live shows all top notch. Her recent Live stream on twitcast she hadt he drummer here Kanade Sato and Senri Kawaguchi playing, so dual drums. And of course Juna. She sometimes has the TGJ bassist Rina Hoshino playing as part of her band. Juna is fantastic with whatever band she is playing with. You should try to catch some videoa of her playing with Shoka Okuba, more blues based. Shoka is a very good bluesy guitarist and has a good voice. Juna has been her bass player in the Shoka Okubo Blues Project and more recently ADDONE. Don't hold me to this but seem to remember reading somewhere they are related, Aunt and Niece or cousinsnor something like that

    • @homegnome2429
      @homegnome2429 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have any suggestions for good videos of Juna and Shoka - I've tried their pages and a lot of the stuff is compilations of parts of shows, or the camera/sound isn't ideal - thanks!

    • @MaartenT
      @MaartenT ปีที่แล้ว

      The crazy thing about Shoka Okubo is that she can play the drums too, I love her guitar playing a bit more, but she is no slouch on the drums and has a pretty good blues voice. It's unfortunate that there doesn't seem to be a lot of good videos of their work. I think Shoka Okubo Blues Project is technically done for now because the drummer moved (to the US I believe) and I have a feeling this is why they started Addone. I probably prefer their earlier Blues Project a little more but both are fun to watch.
      Channels that might have some videos of them: Juna Serita's solo channel, Shoka Okubo's old channel and her official new channel. I think Addone is only on their Addone channel.

    Interesting contrast in playing styles, the guitarist is clinically picking every note while Juna is caressing the notes out of the bass.

    Rie plays with 3mm picks. She deploys all her style in the song "Wangan Street".
    She's the best and most original guitarst i've heard since long time. She has 13 albums yet, but she only comes to maturity now. VERY PROMISING for the future.
