I think the new version is great! Even if someone likes the old rail why would you keep it and risk a person going thru them?! Great improvement and good job as always Brent! Ps. Good job Leah!!! Million subs. And you and Mr. Couch did a great thing for her. Cudos.
A paddle bit works much better and leaves a cleaner hole as opposers to what you used. A drill bit will just blow out the top layer as it goes in as well
Maybe consider grabbing some live tree twigs to fill in predrilled holes to hold drill bit in place. I've done this for yrs by using trigs/small branches to fill in just about any needed project. Razor off the bark, trim to snug size, drive into hole, trim off extra.
Im going to be redoing the stairs and railings, do you know if there are manufacture installation instruction or specs for staircases? It seems there are numerous methods for securing railings and newel posts.
Everyone has their own style. The new one definitely fits the new owner's style more then the old one. But the most important thing is saying thank you so much for watching and your support.
I do think its so odd that some love the original so much when its completely out dated and falling apart haha! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and style choices. I'm just glad this client went with this style. I personally love how it turned out. Thanks for watching!
I hated the original and I’m a boomer I didn’t like them when they were new. I live these somethings just don’t age well. For many of the younger people want “ mid century modern lol “ what they mean is boomer furniture. Sorry no repeats lol. Great job as always.
Was so nervous you were going to fall 😩 when you were putting the green tape on BUT would love to have those stairs 😊
Still in one piece luckily haha :) Thanks so much for watching and lookin out.
Gorgeous update! Brought the house into this decade and beyond

Thanks so much for the kind words and watching Roger. Greatly appreciated and YES we are all excited for Leah right now :)
Looks great! I did the same ones in my house and they look so much better than those old dated balusters.
Great to hear Nick and thanks so much for the support.
Man, that totally changes the way that space looks. Good job!
beautiful work👍
The handrail moving at 12:08... 😮

Great video! I was wondering if you could tell me where you got that dust mask - it looks a lot more comfortable than the 3M N-95’s I always wear.
Hello there as well first poster!
Thanks for watching and the support Mike.

Love it!
Great to hear and thanks so much for watching Aidan.
A router with a small round over bit would also ease the edges of the newel post tops
Great job. Never even thought was a DIY possibility.
FYI.
Height is pronounced “hite” like “bite”.
Can I ask what saw blade you recommend? I see it's a Diablo.
🙏👏👍💪
Thanks so much for watching Alain.
HELLO Bret,
I was lucky enough to win a Jig Saw...any idea how long it takes to ship...Insent my address the night I won...
I prefer the before.
Agree, the new one looks cheaper. No accounting for taste I suppose.

All the boomers in the comments lmao I like the new look way more! The 70s were 50 years ago, oldtimers 😂
