Yep, Jimmy is much loved here in Australia .....
I have proudly been a parrothead since the 1970's 🦜
He will be greatly missed, but his music will live on.
Rest In Paradise Jimmy - Fins Up! 🦈🍔
@Dallas are u aware if there is Parrothead club in Qld, thank you 🙏 RIP Jimmy 🙏
RIP Jimmy, been listening to Jimmy's music since I was 8 years old. September 1st, 2023 was the day a chapter in my life (and Jimmy's) ended.
The closing of one chapter but the opening of another
Pass the music on! Music lives on forever. I live on a little island off the coast of Florida. Everyone here is so sad about Jimmy passing on. The only thing u can do is pass on the music and lifestyle that encapsulates it.
Sounds pretty dramatic Craig. Are you seeing a counselor?
However, Jimmy wanted us to continue the love of life, giving back, take care of our environment! Let us all make us worthy as we still listen to all our Trop Rock/country musicians!
What?@@chrismc.4437
Many sad people today. We have lost someone special.
His music is so positive. No hatred toward the police or authorities. No crying about bad relationships. Just music focusing on good times and happy places. What’s not to love? No wonder millions of people are drawn to him.
'cept for stuff like dancing on the hood of Bufford Pussers car and, y'know, weed.....
Yeah sure, he was all about bowing down to "authorities." LOL
What a great thing! I really enjoyed this. Thank you!
Bruh what? His first album is about getting high on LSD, he was detained for illegal drugs on multiple occasions, and he was a lifelong Democrat and personal friends to the Clintons who hated Trump and Rick Scott. Like I doubt ole Jimmy was an ACAB anarchist, but don't make it sound like he loved the boys in blue.
I lived in his Hometown of Pascagoula Mississippi. The Beach and a bridge is named after him. He has MANY fans there and will sadly be missed. RIP JIMMY
Parrot Head since 1970. Yes, Jimmy, we were hoping you’d live forever. Love and miss you always.
He will live forever. He does live forever, in each and everyone of our hearts!
Jimmy Buffett will live forever in the heart of Every Beach Bum or Beach Bum at heart
RIP Jimmy 💔 your spirit will never die ❤🎶🥀🕊️🕯️🙏⚓️🌴🦈🌞 and may you always have fair winds and following seas 💨🌬️🌊🌪️
Ke❤e❤❤p❤❤❤ ❤❤o❤n❤ singing in heaven i love u jb
Never was able to attend a show. 😢 But thank you TH-cam 😊
I love this documentary. I know most of the pholks in this film. Anytime I feel lonesome, I can just watch this and see my friends.
Parrot heads will alway live on even if Jimmy is gone. His beach music lives on! His songs put a smile on my face! Jimmy you will be so missed by everyone everywhere! I bet there will be a heck of a concert in heaven! Can you see him with Elvis?
I've been saying the same thing. The concert in Rock and Roll Heaven is one I can't wait to see
I'm still crying for you Jimmy Buffett. You are one and only. Been listening to you since I was 15, I am 62. You helped me so much in my life. I thank you with all my heart. Love you JB.❤
What a legacy.
Fins up baby! Once a ParrotHead, always a ParrotHead! Love me some Jimmy.
Great video.
So, much good came out of Jimmy.
Huge impact on those that know.
I feel bad for those who don't.
I am currently spreading the Jimmy Buffett Message to a co-worker that simply had no idea what he has been missing.
Oh! He's all in now.
I'm happy for him because he will take the journey through the music we all did.
Fins!
Wow. . .great ending to the doc!
Jimmy's greatest performance for me was in portland oregon at the coliseum back in the 80s. Somehow I scored a front row center aisle seat. The entire front row had a kick line going! A girl saw me in that prime seat and came running down from some higher seat and lands on my lap and wraps her arms around me. I was totally surprised, but absolutely rolled with it.... until security dragged her away. In the lights Jimmy could only see a couple of the first rows. He watched all this happen. After I lost "my girl", I looked up to see him laughing. He holds his hands up and shrugs. I laugh and do the same since this is just what happens in Margaritaville ! What a classic Buffett moment in life! I only wish I knew I would start this business, because I know Jimmy would have loved to live on one of the habitats I create. oh well, maybe one day when we are both over that horizon. Thank you Jimmy for all the years, all the smiles. Peace and joy to your spirit. Oh , if you are that girl reading this, stop on by. I know we will have a laugh or three!
a real margaritaville moment! i saw him in seattle in '75. the band left the stage for 1 song, and he sang "the ballad of spider john". in that moment, no doubt- he is the real deal!
@@craigrheberling All these stories could be compiled into one fun book!
here's my best one- in '73, i was playing bass in a lounge band in othello washington. after one week, the bartender gave me jimmy's "white sport coat" lp to take home for the weekend. i really liked it, but i thought it wouldn't get played on radio. the next gig was in idaho falls, 2 weeks later, and after one set, a bartender handed me a quarter and asked me to play "d-4" on the jukebox. the title on the jukebox read "national anthem", but it was "why don't we get drunk"! btw, there's a line in one of jimmy's songs that goes "i guess it all blew up in missoula..." i'm thinking that, real early, he must have played all over the US maybe? whatever the plan was- it worked!!! lol@@BeautifuLakesStreamsBiologists
@@craigrheberling hahaha the National Anthem story is a classic! That line you recalled with from the song Miss You So Badly. I hope this thread grows. Hearing all the stories is great and it really honors Jimmy.
as a solo guitar / 12 string guy, i still get requests for jimmy buffet songs. my fav- "pencil thin mustache". jimmy's background in journalism, love of the sea, and the sheer guts to take his music all the way- on his terms - puts him in a truly rare class of american musicians. willie nelson comes to mind- VERY few others. the night i saw him in seattle, david bromberg opened. ever heard of him? he seems to have fallen off the radar, but he was great at that time.@@BeautifuLakesStreamsBiologists
I grew up a beach kid. Granted on a northern Lake Michigan beach, but we had the life every summer. So I HAD to do Florida, and Key West, and Michigan in the summer. There was always beach bums. Worked hard for a living, but I never left the beach.
Thank you Jimmy we had fun.
What a beautiful video, full of so much tragedy and love, are we not all living our lives as a song? "Some of it's magic and some of it's tragic but I had a good life all the way". Thank you Jimmy, for bringing us together and giving us the magic of your song...
I used to listen to Jimmy Buffet music a lot. Still enjoy it much. Saw him years ago at Desert Sky Pavilion in Phoenix, an amphitheater, that now has a different name. It was a blast. Would love to head down to Key West to see some of these bands and hopefully see Jimmy again, I have a nice motorcycle so it would be a great ride. Maybe soon!
Buffett *
Such a great story, such wonderful people, led by a legend. R.I.P. Jimmy. 😢
What a great show of Trop Rock Muscians celebrating Jimmy Buffett! What a wonderful world we have of Parrot Heads! And I am sure these Trop Rockers will keep Jimmy Buffett and the Trop Rock Island Style of (forget your troubles) music alive for all of the Parrot Head Clubs! alive and well for all of our parrotkeats and yonger adults moving on!
Jerry Diaz is a wonderful story teller for these travels of music!
I having sang and played his music in bands and gone to a college that he had years before me, I thought I knew a lot more than most about Jimmy Buffett. But, I had no idea he was so financially successful. But, on top of everything he was a Good Human!
Why was the outro of Margaritaville spliced from a big show instead of the PHIP Convention performance? Pretty amazing that Scott Nickerson got through the brain tumor surgery, then a stroke, seizures... to be able to talk, read and play music again - and got to sit in with Jimmy Buffett And The Coral Reefers.
He's been sitting in with bands all week at MOTM and has been great.
Every fan should watch this
Thanks! This is a great story.
Uncle Jim Mayer was just so wonderful back in the day back when this clip was filmed! Uncle Jim Mayer is still a favorite friend up here in NE Ohio, and the North Coast Parrot Head Club (Cleveland, OHIO) is always here!
RIP Legend
Thank you for a childhood of your music jimmy. I will miss you. Parrot head for life. Your forever my favourite singer. Fins up jimmy
What can I say? Jimmy touched me and my friends very deeply as well.
I even raised both of my children as parakeets.
But, what I really wanted to say is how lucky I feel to be seeing Mac perform on September 1st in Beaver Dam, Kentucky.
Who would have guessed? Beaver Dam? On the 1st anniversary of losing Jimmy and its 30 miles away.
The sea's in my veins
My tradition remains
I'm just glad I don't live in a trailer 💔
We all knew it was coming... some day. Just not today. This sucks worse than anything I can imagine
4 generations of our family here 2,500,000 miles 45 years ❤ thanks Jimmy
Jimmy Buffetts legacy will be bigger than Jerry Garcia and GD ❤
Absolutely!
Not a competition at all, they’re both awesome and their music will be around much longer than we will.
Not what it's about.
They’re both legends. I bet they’re hanging together and enjoying the best heaven has to offer!
Alcohol to a Parrot head is like Acid to a Deadhead.
Why is the band called the coral reefers? Just saying.
I am a parrot head. I don’t drink alcohol… Jimmy himself was sober since he was 40… so… I disagree with you. Not every parrot head drinks booze….🤷♀️
@@kristymaufroy2405Eh...😂
@@davidgioeand not every Deadhead does drugs. That's a dumb, untrue stereotype. I've been a Deadhead for a long time and I don't do drugs.
@@rickbigelow1168 I’m a coral reefer, midnight toker!
Jimmy realized that rich people always take expensive vacations, why not supply the drugs/alcohol/ resorts and make his kids and grandkids multi millionaires ❤
Love this. Never knew the extent of the parrot heads
Don’t doubt a parrothead we like the acid too 😂Fins Up: Not Yet
Sunny Jim, Jerry Diaz, Mike Nash, Howard Livingston, Donny Brewer, and so many other trop rockers that tour and share the island style of life and sharing the love of the music! We have had several play house concerts at our No Name Yard in Ohio the past 13 years!
That was awesome. Got missed the eyed way too much, but thank you.
RIP Mister Buffet ❤️🌊🍸🧂🌊❤️
What a fantastic watch!
RIP Jimmy
Thank you for sharing
Im a musician and live in Rome Georgia would love to connect with other parrotheads

I lived in Milledgeville, Ga and went to Georgia College. It's 2hrs south of Atlanta lol. Totally different than Atlanta in every way.

@14:05 & 14:24...are those "bongs" Cut from the same cloth!
damn we miss you Jimmy.
I grew up in Houston, Texas started to love Buffet while going to school in Austin. I now call Taiwan home and want to start a parrot heads in paradise club Taiwan.

Greatwoods will never be the same…….💔
Its sad but its true we said fairwell to soon. Its been a lovely cruise..........
Yes
I want to know what all these people are going to do now that he's gone. Also, I really regret not seeing him for the first time last year..
We're going to keep the party going! We're here at MOTM right now and still going strong.
I love my dad, and I love my buddies, I love america, I love sailing, I love boats, I love my parrotheads, I love margaritas, I love craft beers, I love smiling women, I love parrot poo. I love you.

And let us celebrate Michigan with a Cheeseburger in parrotdise!
Deadheads are skinnier.
I am both.
there is a heaven, self justification, our God would never deny us interaction with our bestest buddy.
Something about a Jimmy Buffett documentary that spells his name wrong.🤪
😆😝🤣🤣🤣
😢
Now that he is gone the letters WWJBD come more and more to the Light!! FINS UP!
This video should really be called The Essential Parrot Heads Documentary. Not much about Bubba, the man.
obviously by a non parrothead as the dunderhead spelled his name as a restaurant type with 1 T Buffet. hahahahahahaha😂 hello McFly
❤ Parrot Heads listen to Margaritaville tribute song TIDE HIGH ON by songwriter Dennis Callahan

😅❤❤❤❤
At least spell his name right in the title
Drives me nuts
Buffett spelled wrong in the title. Ffs
This is just OK. Too much non-Jimmy self promotion. Sorry.
