The plays the Ravens missed were the plays they needed to win the game. I seen an interview with Pat Mahomes Sr. Where he says he asked his son (Mahomes Jr) why the Chiefs couldn’t score in the second half. He said, his son told him, his only focus was to not make any mistakes. I felt that said a lot about the mentality it takes to win that type of game on that type of level. I hope that’s the biggest takeaway for Lamar. Be patient and limit your mistakes. Doesn’t guarantee a win but, it definitely increases your chances.

I know everyone is still ragging on them “abandoning their identity,” but I rewatched the game twice. The plays were there to be made against this defense. Everyone just took their turns making mistakes in execution. Justice hill’s horrendous pass blocking erased two potential big plays to Zay. Ronnie took a potential TD to Bateman away. Zay ran an incorrect route one time and Lamar almost made a bad situation worse by throwing it to Zay anyway and Bolton almost picked it. Everybody played their part in the loss. So to answer Todd’ question of whether it was “sticking to the plan or execution…”
It was both. Yes they could’ve run the ball more. But the plays were there to be made. We just weren’t there yet execution-wise.

While I appreciate the coaches taking accountability, this game tracks solely back to poor execution for me. Ravens, more specifically Monken, didn’t abandon their identity. They’d been a pass to score in the first half & run to close out games team all season. However poor execution like you pointed out left the same plays that were made throughout the season, on the field this game.
Ronnie makes that block, Lamar hits Bate…different game. Lamar hits Nelly on the slot fade before half…different game. Simpson doesn’t get called for holding, Ravens likely get a FG to start the 2nd half, Hill doesn’t whiff on a block 2 plays later, LJ likely hits OBJ for a big gainer in a swallow cross & they still get points.
I’ve hated the narrative surrounding that game all offseason because most people removed the context of not only how this game was played but how the ravens played all season and leaned immediately on the rush attempts as the problem.

It was more poor execution than anything. The RBs pass pro was really bad.

Poor execution cost the Ravens that game, not gameplan or lack of rush attempts.

EA, the one thing i noticed and i am sure teams notice as well. Is the ravens are way too predictable. The ravens Never Ever run on 3rd and 5+.. Teams know if you sell out on stopping 1st down runs. They can then dictate when to play pass defense. Checkmate

Monkton admitted coaching was bad in that game. Offense has to be more consistent this year. I like the Ravens players they drafted Corey Bullock a Maryland Terp if they can get the offensive lineman ready I think they can defeat the Chiefs with King Henry I just don't trust the offensive coaching. Great show.😊
