    A bit of masking tape on the jaws your adjustable spanner helps to stop scratching the fittings. Looking forward to the dyno day the sounds are going to be nuts :)

    Love these vids. The amount of work you're putting in, deserves a hell of an outcome!

    Wow, Chris. I know you're under the gun to get this car ready in a ridiculously short amount of time, but we're all pulling for you, mate. This build is one of the most in-depth garage builds I've seen to date and it's been fun watching your progress. A lesser man would have thrown in the towel after that fire, but you persevered and have been putting in late nights to get the job done. Much respect to you, brother. I can't wait to see you put this latest version of your Z back on track.👊

    Is it bad that I actually laughed when you said 3.5 weeks. :) Good luck.
    Everything always takes longer than you think, at least it does for me.

      Oh don't worry I'm laughing too... or I'd cry

    A bit of a side note. You should probably make or buy a coolant bleed valve to replace the plastic factory one you got on the car, ( near the back of the driver side). Those things crack often as hell. If you dont want to make em, Z1 makes aluminium ones.

      I saw Z1 made some but I'd never heard of the stock one breaking tbh until you just mentioned it

      @@ChrisDriftthe stock ones crack over time, mine cracked open mid drive. Looool. Luckly I was able to go to a home Depot and use some pipe to temp connect it loo

    Good luck with the push to the finish line Chris!
    I meant to ask about your time split a few videos back, it sounds like you're full time on the build now. Has this been the case throughout the winter? Or earlier on were you maybe doing weekdays your regular work on the software and then on to the car on the evenings and weekends?
    I'm a dev too and know well the feeling of crunch time, I imagine it's not too dissimilar with the build right now! I have faith in you!
    p.s. welds looking pretty damn good on that swirl tank imo

    Sick man ....what we're you exact settings on your welder when you're that swirl pot?just wondering

    • @ChrisDrift
      @ChrisDrift  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Can't remember exactly but it will have been around 90 amps but controlling it with foot pedal, 40 percent cleaning action on the AC balance, and using 2.4mm filler rod

    vacuum manifold block for the waste gates?

    • @ChrisDrift
      @ChrisDrift  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A few people said it's better to keep all the vacuum/boost feeds separate rather than using T pieces or blocks like that, although I'm not really sure why...

  • @Iain240

    AN vacuum lines? That is so extra.

      I had 3 silicone/rubber push on lines split or come off on the gt86 boost setup so doing it properly this time
