Yes if OPL works with PS1 games in general then it is fine.
In fact, this modified PS1 games are identical to normal PS1 games

Make sure the xdelta file and the game fil are of the same region (PAL, NTSC-U or NTSC-J)
Make sure the problem is not the emulator
Try to create a cue file
