Excellent explanation as a mother of a 25 years old with PD I feel that is so important that we all help to find answers to help others in the future and mostly to find the cure it is really a very painful disease and family is hurt because nothing hurts must than see our love challenges in their daily routine .
Doctors keep telling me I don't have Parkinson's disease. I was diagnosed with atypical parkinsonism. I found eight Gene polymorphisms that contribute to my symptoms. Some doctors have accused me of being a drug seeker and I am faking it. It's infuriating.
I had a doctor tell me I probably have it but said I have to wait another year before he diagnoses me which was big for me because I've seen multiple doctors for years who keep saying "it's possible" but tell me they can't diagnose me even though I had symptoms stacking up. I don't know if they were just offering me the false hope that I don't have it or what. Current doctor, despite waiting to diagnose, started me on 3 medications that finally helped so he believes but he's also not rushing a diagnosis. I feel like if you're seeking drugs you're going to make something up other than PD. And I found you can't tell a doctor you think you have PD because they immediately think you're just a hypochondriac. You just have to pretend to be surprised when they suggest it.
God bless you Michael.
I pray that you find your answers. For you, and for the world. 🥀
