Insane to change the colour on that car ..would have looked amazing in the bronze with a EuroSpec look ..better than ending up scrap though

Yes, have to agree. The spoiler on the front has made it into a boy racer job. A repaint in the original colour would have been best.

    • @oscarrosenboom8315

In the original colour without the spoiler and the terrible striping it would have looked a lot better. Museum worthy. Now it looks silly.

Noone in the right mind would ever want a bronze car when they can have a black one.
And calling a period correct Alpina chin spoiler boy racer-like is outright idiotic.

I agree that it was a mistake to lose the original bronze colour. They made a lot more work for themselves (which they did not show) and lost an element of originality which means a some potential purchasers would no longer consider the car.

It is what they don't say that's concerning. The cost of that paint job would've put this car beyond budget whilst reducing the potential original stock value.. the BMW bronze colour WAS the sport colour in it's day. I'm 44 and even I know that!

I had a 323 in that colour. It was quite special, tan recaros, 3 spoke steering wheel, extra fuel tank in the boot, alpine front spoiler, 13’ BBS dish
Everyone can have a black car, that colour is original and so period

Back in 1994 I bought an E21 323i from my first wife’s uncle. It was a 79 V reg and he was the only owner in 15 years, so I was 2nd owner. It was very tired in, out and mechanically so I restored it. But 4 years later I sold it 😢 I paid just £850 for it - wish I still had it today, that’s for sure. It was finished in Phoenix Orange so was a real head turner

Back in the 1980's I had the ultra rare forerunner to the 323i, it was a 1976 320i 4 cylinder I believe the blocks were highly sought after for Formula 1,000? Mine was factory non metallic black, I had it resprayed and the Martini stripes fitted it also had a Britax folding fabric sunroof, Philips servoglide electric windows and cross lattice alloys. I am not opposed to some mods, as I find fully stock cars rather boring, but changing the colour on a valuable classic is a big no no.
I own an E28 myself, and although I lowered it, mounted a set of 16’ BMW cross spoke wheels and fitted a Simons sports exhaust system, I will keep it in its original Lachssilber colour.
The other mods are easily reversible should I ever sell it and the new owner has a different taste, although I highly doubt I would ever sell that beautiful machine…✨

I fell to certain death and survived reason being is I left my truck running on sub zero winter day in Michigan. Without the truck idling in the distance I feel I wouldn't have made my crawl after falling 25 feet. Once I made it too my truck I laid under the exhaust pipe to thaw out then climbed in my truck to call for my own medivac. My truck had over 400,000 miles on it that day and it never missed a beat. Everyone currently telling me to get rid of it. Truly will never happen some day my truck will live again like I am. Injuries shattered hip and pelvis broken right shoulder 10 broken ribs bruised lungs and severe hypothermia and permanently bruised femer. Again greatest truck ever.

Black is ok on some cars. Usually just hides mediocre design.

ICON. Drew, you absolutely right with Black colour. This is my dream car from my childhood, never had one, but had 323Ci E46 to dry my tears.❤️
