    Western, If you guys are going to make products that get stupid electrical problems and then just say bring it to the dealer, you should be required to fix it for free forever

      Amen. You’d think they could figure out a better system by now. I’m going to switch brands

      I was frustrated when I made this post, I did find my broken wires, And fixed them. I do like that it is only two wires to do all the communication stuff to the plow instead of dozens.

    What about when you lift the plow Why do the lights go dim????

    • @BiffsEquipment
      @BiffsEquipment 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is typical, my plow does the same thing, the plow hydraulics put a lot of strain on your trucks electrical system. If it dims really badly then you may want to check your alternator with a volt meter to make sure it’s putting out 14volts. If it’s under 13.5 volts then you may wanna replace your alternator. If the alternator is good then you may want to replace your battery, a weak or old battery could cause this. Also check that all of the plugs on the plow harness are clean from corrosion and that the grounds look good, corrosion on the pigtails or grounds will create voltage drop and could be what’s causing your lights to dim so badly. If your lights are only dimming slightly then your prolly ok as this is usually normal to see some dimming when lifting the plow. Hope this helps 👍🏻

      @@BiffsEquipment Matter of fact yesterday I replace the positive battery terminal again this is a Ford 2002 they had a brass strap type connector on the positive and when I took it off I noticed half of this bra strap was eaten up so I changed it out with a lead one is a lot better now but still goes a little damp so I have a bad ground problem somewhere Thanks for the advice right now it’s 10 below little hard to be out there poking around for grounds I just hope I don’t destroy your battery but this summer I will definitely tear apart and look for corrosion anywhere thanks again for the advice

    I think most of us already checked the connections before we took to the interweb. So this was particularly unhelpful. HERE'S WHAT IS HELPFUL: THE BIG PINS ARE SPLIT PINS. GET AN ICEPICK OR A VERY SMALL BLADE SCREWDRIVER AND SPREAD THEM SLIGHTLY. DO IT A LITTLE AT A TIME UNTIL THE LIGHT IS STEADY.

    What if the controller doesn’t light up at all, have power and coming in the controller

    • @BiffsEquipment
      @BiffsEquipment 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does the back light light up at all? If the back light doesn’t even light up then you prolly have no power getting to your controller and it’s not connecting to the plow module itself. The controller will only light up when it sees power from the module i Believe. If you have tested the power going to the controller and you do have power going to it but it’s still not lighting up then you could have corroded circuits on the board of the controller itself. Remove both screws on the controller and remove the circuit board from the plastic case, check it for corrosion, if you see no corrosion then you may want to try replacing your controller or Borrow a friends controller to try if you know soemone with the same controller.
      I’m here because my plow module is not working right but saw your question so figured I’d try and help 👍🏻

      I did all of the checks they recommended in this video and at the end when I finally thought they were gonna tell me how to fix or test the module itself they said “bring it to your nearest dealer die service” agh, go figure.
