During spring time the wetter heavy snow gives you better traction because it’s all settled and more compacted, early and mid season wet heavy snow is no good, you sink into it and it compacts in front of you stopping you dead. It’s called mashed potatoes

We were fortunate because the wet snow allowed us to make trails to get around in. Powder woulda been rough, especially limping out Jeff’s rig.
