Sad to hear about these planes are now being a bit neglected, I was there a couple of weeks ago, they looked ok, but not as good as in this video. and the guy said, he doesn't know when these will taxi again like they used to do, what a shame 😢 Hope they can have them back taxing again in the future?
Tillerman56 yes they do regular runs to find out there dates it's best to keep looking at there Facebook page and website. there next advertised event is 4th June but they will do others before then
Airshow UK fair doe's, still awesome to see powered up regardless as are the others- I've seen them all before but usually they just sit there, it's almost like they're museum peices or something haha :) Alistair Hodges, former assistant volunteer gardener, Yorkshire Air Museum
sadly they are not airworthy. They are all kept and maintained so they can taxi under there own power. They are normal run once a month. Also when they can negotiate access they some times use the Elvington runway sadly this has been a couple of years since it last happened
@@PetriusGaming Couple of reasons really.....there isn't the same relationship with the airfield as there was.....mainly through mismanagement, (previous) and neglect of partnership but also the mechanical condition of the Victor which has a serious undercarriage problem but the will isn't there like it used to be.
Thank you for the honest feed back. I forget not every one is a plane geek like me 😊 1st Dove 2nd Dakota 3rd Buccaneer 4th Nimrod 5th Victor For more info please visit there web site yorkshireairmuseum.org/explore/collections/
We have different rules to the Americans is the biggest reason,But the biggest hurdle is for complex aircraft like the Vulcan and Victor is manufactures need to support the operators. As these airframes have all flown there recommended flying hours / fatigue life they’re are seen as unsafe to fly and no manufacturer will support them for that reason alone. Of course money is also a huge factor. For example the sea vixen that no longer long airworthy after a wheels up landing, Navy wings thought it wiser to spend their limited fund’s keeping the rest of the fleet flying rather than repairing the Vixen.
lovely sounds, some great old birds there, love em.......
Absolutely love the Victor. Beautiful POWERHOUSE of an aircraft. By far the best 'V' Bomber.
Great to see & hear the Victor! Brought back memories of HP factory at Radlett
The dc3 is an amazing plane, wish it could fly
Some day I think it will.
The Victor wouldn’t look out of place alongside a B2!

Is that a regular feature, those engine runs? If yes, is there a scheme?
The Victor looks great from that angle. Could have been built by Klingons.

1IbramGaunt you should get to a cold war jets day at bruntingthorpe and see three all together blast up the runway
Are any of these planes airworthy? Or are they just maintained to the extent where the engines will start up?

@@AirshowUK Very unlikely the taxiing will happen again.
@@Habu2 Why so?
