    I've clipped my bedlington for 13 years. I was trained by the breeder,who was a show judge. I would watch lots of professional trimmers first. This lady isn't explaining direction, blades etc clearly enough. You have to be prepared to pull inner hair ear to prevent infections and learn to drain anal gland(not as yucky as you think, or too smelly).Also the floor is for play ,a table is for work. They learn this quickly.

    Hi Chloe, how old is Ted he's really chilled out . How old was he when you first clipped him.

      Hi, yeh he has got used to us grooming him whilst he was asleep when he was a puppy, i only ever groomed him when he was asleep just easier! I also had someone be with me while I was clipping him a s puppy but only took off a little bit and I think he was about 6 months old, but if your puppy gets really fluffy before then maybe clip him before, but again only a bit. Hope this helps please ask more questions if you have any :)

    I would not recommend a skip-toothed blade for beginners. "Finishing" blades (marked with an F, e.g. #5F - the teeth are all the same length) are safer and easier for beginners to use.

    Dog grooming especially Bedlington hair takes some training and the right tools. I take mine to the shop every 6 weeks. Some jobs are best left to the pros.

    Love your video. I have a four year old Bedlington female. She attacks the brush when I try to groom her - any tips?

    • @Chloe_theMedium
      @Chloe_theMedium  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      aww thanks :) i would say take it slow and have patience 100% each ay get someone to hold a really yummy treat in front of her nose don't let her eat it and do two strokes with the brush and if she was good reward her with the treat and leave it at that. Keep doing this each day and after a few days increase the amount of brush strokes you do and keep doing that. It will take a while but trust me with patience it should work. Let me know. Thanks.

    Hi Chloe love your videos I've got three bedlington crosses (Very similar coats) I bought the bedlington set of clippers and used the 7 skip blade it came out a lot lot shorter than Ted's in the video, too close if I'm honest any advice please? Can you use a guard with them to leave coat a bit longer. Thank you.

    • @Chloe_theMedium
      @Chloe_theMedium  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi I would try a guard or you could try a 5f blade I have seen that blade recommended quite a few times for bedlingtons. :)

      I don't have a poodle so its tricky to say, i like them fully clipped with the nose really well shaved, put personal preference, :) what is yours?

    Awful. Please get qualified at college if your going to make tutorials on Dog grooming!! I found this hard to watch.

  • @michelledelkel
    @michelledelkel 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Your clippers sound real janky, you need oil in the blade, and possibly a new blade they look like they're sticking, but thanks for tutorial I'm a pro groomer but never groomed a bedlington and needed to see a video. I have a groom book but I like a visual guide

    Question why is ted not in a cip I see most bedlington terriers in?

    • @Chloe_theMedium
      @Chloe_theMedium  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I clip Ted myself so when I first learnt I was to scared to clip him the bedlington way I didn't want to cut his skin. Also I think some of it is personal preference :) Thanks

      He first had his puppy clip around 12 weeks old and I brushed him from day one. In the beginning it is about them getting used to it! :)

      oh no oh dear. Take it she doesn't like being groomed then?

    • @aacc8466
      @aacc8466 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      try taking your dog out for a walk and let her play at the park until the doggo is exhausted and then groom her. She won't protest, I garantee! (unless you did not fully poop her out!)

  • @johnneville4988
    @johnneville4988 ปีที่แล้ว

    That is dreadful grooming the dog should be on a table those clippers are pulling at the coat .The dog should be bathed first as this makes the coat softer so the clippers go through the coat better
