I am little confused why they talk about mind as separate thing from yourself , why they don’t say simply yourself

russ harris author of "the happiness trap" the book is about acceptance & commitment, derived from relational frame theory explain human has 3 component
1)physical self (example: skin, eye, ear, nose, tongue)
2)the thinking self (brain part that judging, calculating, planning, day dreaming, overthinking)
3)the oberserving self (the brain part that focus, awareness, mindfulness)
      so it is different
when we are in mindfulness we will able to separate our mind (step back from "the thinking self"
