    Actually in fact, it is 189 horsepower. You get 4 extra with the extra muffler, which makes it 189. All 4 cylinders minus the Sport trim level have 185, and then the Sport has an extra muffler therefore gets 4 extra horses.

    I'm a Honda guy and I love this accord. It has elements from the 98-02 accord front end and NO ZACK the rear looks NOTHING like an azera. It's very similar again to the 98-02 accord rear lights. Some may say they look like the genesis rear lights but they r wrong. Great car though and I'm glad Honda is listening!

    for the difference of equiment with the base one, its ok. 1500 a 1800$. For the different look with the little lip at the back, dual muffleur, 18' wheels, Mirror led turn signal, paddle shifter, dual thermostatic air ajustment for climatisation (manuel in the base one). I have one since october 2012, and I love it.

    Minimal issues with my 2015 LX, 78k miles. Mirror issue I never noticed.. maybe my car didn't have it. Zero challenges with the starter. Minimal oil dilution issues. Zero CVT slippage, even at steep grades. Had no problems with the CVT, and actually preferred the immediate "downshift" compared to other cars (2018+ Camry) having to hunt for the right gear when you just need to go. Averaged 36mpg per tank, 70% highway. I did 6 hour drives with the cloth seats in the LX and was never uncomfortable. Really a great car. Only real issue was left rear power door lock stopped working. not a big deal since I rarely use that door. I could still manually unlock it with the button, and would just leave it locked all the time by default. Some wind noise in the rear.. overall road noise wasn't great, but I got used to it. Bluetooth always sync'd to the phone before I even got in the car. Always worked flawlessly. Backup camera was great. Tires.. while on the narrow/bubble side (205/65/R16), were at least cheap to replace.. $110 for Continental True Contact, which had better ratings than what came on the car, Pro Contact.
    The only main downside to the 4cyl Sedans is the cornering. Lots of body roll! Those curves are NOT fun with this car. However you'll find forums on a simple easy 30 minute do it yourself rear sway bar upgrade that helps the understeer/body roll significantly. I never got around to doing it myself, but people are confident in it.

    FYI: the sport model is the only one out of the 4 banger engine line up that get 189 hp due to the dual exhausts and a slight tune up. The rest of the 4 line up will have 185 hp

    Honda is one hell of a company! yes they took some criticism for the 8th gen accord, and the 12 civics, but they are back and ready to play! This new accord is nothing short of amazing with so many class leading high tech features, and the best cvt on the market, feels like a regular auto. if you havent driven one, go do so its awesome!

    Zack, you were right with the 189 HP. The sport model comes with that because of the increase from the dual pipes. It also gets a slight bump in torque too. I saw that someone posted too bad it doesn't come in white with a manual. Talking to my buddy that owns a dealership, the manual sport versions should be released in the spring. The other models come with 185HP.

I don't understand why its 2 grand cheaper in the US though (Options are cheaper too. Putting in the reverse camera was a good move on Honda's part as thats expected to become mandatory in cars in canada within two years.

    This is probably a really noob question so forgive me I'm not a big car guy but can the badge on the front be removed? I know the rear badges can be removed with a heat gun and some buffing but the one on the front looks like it may be worked in to the grill in a way that prevents it from being removed. Can it be removed? or could I put on a different grill without a badge? I like the clean look of no badges, does anyone know?

    between a 2015 honda accord or the 2017 hyundai elantra, which one is more reliable even over 100k? im getting a new car next month and i'm choosing between those two. looking for reliability more than anything else, but i don't really like toyota's otherwise i'd get one. I've heard honda's have always been reliable, and hyundai's used to have a low reliability rate, so i'm really curious about the newer models that i've heard are better.

    I see that there is a talk button on your models so that you can have voice activated phone conversations. For some rediculous reason Honda will not put a talk button on Australian cars. I know as I have just bought a 2013 CRV and find that although it has Blue tooth there is NO talk button.
    I just wish that someone in a high place can tell me why that is.

  • @Dillon1791
    @Dillon1791 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well this is only Honda's lower tune. higher tunes should be hitting about 220HP and 190LB-FT, which would be more than enough for the light ILX and Si, and if it still around, the TSX (TLX could get it). It also might be in the upcoming all-new Honda Compact SUV (2013 debut) and MMC CR-V. The Base 8G Accord made 177HP and 162LB-FT and 190HP 164lb-FT. New Accord makes 185HP and 182LB-FT and 189HP and 185LB-FT. Torque is also lower made at lower RPMs. Dont under think Honda.
